If you're looking for a seafood restaurant in St. Augustine, this unique fly-fishing themed restaurant offers daily fresh fish specials using locally caught fish that you don't usually see on most restaurant menus. The kitchen at BlackFly is a "Scratch Kitchen"; everything is fresh, as local as possible, seasonal and made to order. Mike and Cindy, partners in BlackFly and owners of the Famous Collage Restaurant in downtown St. Augustine are the operational managers.     They honored the reservation and the food and service were excellent. Best fried shrimp we’ve had in a long time. Fried calamari were good too.

    Very cold. Guy at next table bought as sweat shirt in the gift shop so he could eat in comfort! Fast and good service. I had the tenderloin beef tips and shrimp fried rice. Very good. Hubby had blackened fish, also very good. Portions large.

    Awesome food, excellent service! I had the margerita swordfish and mynwife has the trigger fish. Both were wonderful and very tasty. We also had the banana bread pudding witb burbon caramel sauce with ice cream, and that was heavenly goodness! I wantes to lick the plate!

    Flounder with lemon caper sauce was superb. Key Lime pie is the best I've had, and my hubby and I have tried it up and down the East Coast. The Chili Lime shrimp appetizer is a hit. You won't go wrong choosing Blackfly.

    Extremely noisy restaurant. Food was so-so. Picked it because we went to Collage, which is their sister restaurant. No comparison. Won’t revisit Black Fly. Although Ireland our server made it wonderful. She was a delight!

    The food is good, especially the Mexican Street Salad and the skirt steak. Our server was fantastic and really attentive. Overall it was a great experience except for the hostess who was a total scatterbrain.

    Tiffany was our waitress and she was outstanding. The food was delicious, we started with a shrimp appetizer which was delicious and we both had pasta dishes, one was shrimp and scallops over capellini and the other was shrimp and crab cream Sauce over angel hair pasta. Both were scrumptious. Dessert was crème brûlée which was the best we ever had. The whole meal was top notch and the service was impeccable. Highly Recommend

    Excellent place to eat for both locals and tourists. We celebrate all of our family events here. The food is quality food. Different varieties. Drinks are great. The bar area is always busy. Our server Daniel was very personable and attentive.

    We visit Black Fly every time we vacation in St. Augustine and have never had a bad or unsatisfactory experience, meal or service. This year we ate there twice and have reservations for Mother’s Day dinner. Our recent waitress was Ireland. She was extremely friendly, competent and provided us with excellent service!!! We have recommended Black Fly to many friends!

    Perfect for date night! We enjoyed the house salad, black bean soup, Trigger fish entree, and key lime pie with a cup of decaf coffee. Everything was delicious, well prepared, and beautifully presented. Service was excellent. We never felt rushed nor abandoned. Our waiter was friendly, capable, and professional. All the staff with whom we came into contact were friendly and seemed attuned to our experience. Will definitely return.

    Food was very disappointing. Tuna app had zero flavor served with over salted chips. No fresh Florida seafood. Ordered salmon as was told was the best dish. Spicy. Service was solid and the drinks saved the evening.

    We come to St. Augustine every year for a few weeks and never do not go to Black Fly a few times while here. Appetizers , Salads and entrees always perfectly prepared and presented. Service is always great - in particular our server Ireland just made us feel so welcomed. Our daughters are joining us next week and we will be back here on Thursday.

    Exceptional food. We had the pork chop and lobster tails preceded by calamari and beef tips appetizers. Dessert was bread pudding. Drinks were delicious. Quality and taste were excellent and the service was attentive and perfect. The owner stopped by and chatted. A top dining experience in St Augustine. Wish we lived closer for a weekly option.

    For context, my wife and I came here during our honeymoon stay in St. Augustine. We saw how many good reviews Blackfly had on Google, and we were very excited to eat there. We were under the impression that this was an upscale restaurant. It most definitely did not meet our expectations. Food was overpriced and pretentious. For example, I ordered the Sea Scallops Agilo e Olio. This $36 dish comes with “garlic bread”. I put garlic bread in quotations as the two pieces of “garlic bread” were actually closer to croutons. There was certainly no garlic or seasoning on the bread. I was essentially eating two crispy bread pucks. To make it better, one of my croutons was stale and inedible. The pasta was very garlic heavy and boring. Service was okay, food came out relatively quickly. no complaints there. Ambiance was awful. There was a massive group of women behind us drinking heavily and being very, very rowdy. The staff made no attempts to quiet the group down even though other guests were visibly annoyed by the group. Please do not waste your time, money, or sanity coming to this establishment. There are many better restaurants in the area that actually care about providing a good experience.

    I was really disappointed in the quality of the food . It smelled really bad in there too. I didn’t have much confidence in the cleanliness of he place. I got the twin lobster tail dinner and one of the tails tasted ‘off’. I would say this so a good place if you’re looking for a lively bar scene. Tourist trap , overpriced, food is not good.

    We dined here for our anniversary dinner, and couldn't have made a better choice! We thoroughly enjoyed the drinks and the food. Our server, Ireland (forgive if I misspelled) was very kind and had a pleasant demeanor even though she was quite busy. I highly recommend the creme brulee!

    We were seated on their back dining room which did not have the same ambiance as the front- still was nice- our server Ireland was very good- knowledgeable about the menu and very attentive- we will return next time we visit St Augustine We had the calamari appetizer which was very good as was the pork chop and surf and turf fried rice
