Captain Hiram’s was super busy Saturday night with a lively crowd and we had a great time. We were quickly escorted to a table by the river and our waitress, Natalie, was friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and served promptly- despite how busy they were. Kudos to all staff :)

Extremely slow service. Not the best food. It’s gone down for sure. Such a shame. We’ve been coming here for over 30 years! This will be our last. Our waitress was very apologetic and nice though.

I made a reservation and we arrived about 15 minutes early, and were seated within 5 minutes after arriving. Our waiter was very friendly, and warned us the food was taking a long time to come out. Drinks came within 10 minutes. About 20 minutes after we ordered, or server brought us bread while we waited and 10 minutes after that my salad arrived. We did wait 50 minutes for our meals, and with our meal came my husband's appetizer. Our food was good, although I was disappointed one of the appetizers I wanted to order that was shown online was no longer available.

Ate at the outside venue on Saturday and had a poor experience. Decided to give the venue a second chance, but eating inside. Cannot believe the difference. Service was great, food was excellent… eat inside at Blackfins when you can.

The view is amazing and the service was fantastic. The fresh catch blackened grouper was awful. It might have been the worst fish I have ever eaten. The shrimp basket was very good and I would recommend.

Even though our food was very good and Slater did a good job, we cannot give the restaurant a better review. It wasn’t until we were seated when the waitress asked if the hostess mentioned that they only had one kitchen open to take care of both restaurants. And, that dinner would not come out until one hour or so later. My husband and I could have gotten up at that point and tried to get a table somewhere else. But, it was 8pm on a Saturday night in high season. We had already driven 25 minutes to get there. Therefore, we figured we would stay and enjoy the evening. Plus Slater, our waitress, said that soup and small starters would be able to be served promptly. Drinks weren’t the best. We ordered a mojito. After waiting for a few minutes and placed an order for soup, the waitress came over to let us know that they had to go get some mint. Once we got our drink, you hardly could find the mint. She brought us bread after we had our soup. Dinner came about 1:40 after we placed the order. The bottom line is that they should have not confirmed reservations when they were not able to serve the customers in a good timely manner. Plus, the restaurant should have given us a forewarning of their situation when we booked the reservation. Poor practice from Management. It isn’t fair to the customers, waiting staff nor the kitchen.

It is not acceptable to take a number of reservations and walkup customers that make it impossible to serve those customers within a reasonable time frame. Fix your labor problem before you open your reservation system. The table was available, but the wait for food would have been be 1.5 hours. We left.

We waited 1 hour and 45 minutes and did not receive our food. We asked the server when we would be served and she shrugged her shoulders and walked away. The manager finally comped our meal but said we had to realize there were lots of people there. So, don't seat more than you can serve!!! We left without eating. Sat there from 6:15 to 8:00 with 3 small children who eventually got McDonalds for dinner.

Had a reservation for 6:30 on a Friday. The food and waitress were excellent. Waited over an hour for the meals to come after ordering. I guess that should have been expected, the restaurant was pretty full. Also, like all other restaurants the prices are really jacked-up.

Valentine’s Day dinner with my mom. Very disappointed with our entrees. I had Maryland Crab Cakes and my mom had fish and chips. The Crab Cakes were all stuffing No and hardly any crab and overcooked and dry. My mom’s fish and chips had 2 small pieces of fried fish and the fries were well overly salted. Waitress was very receptive to our feedback and worked to get the crab cakes taken off the bill. So only bright spot. Never returning.

My wife and I went out for Valentine’s Day. This was the first time we tried BackFins due to mixed reviews we heard from friends. The location was great. The staff was ok. Unfortunately we ordered appetizers and entrees at the same time and the restaurant failed to manage the timing. It wasn’t a small miss - the entrees were delivered before the appetizers. I pointed it out to the people delivering it and then again to our waiter. The initial response was to just say they would get the appetizers out as soon as possible. Eventually they did offer to take the entrees back to keep them warm and finally an offer to recook them at the right tight. When we didn’t take them up on the offer they took one of the appetizers off our bill. They did their best to correct the mistake but the reality is the night wasn’t what we would want it to be. The other comment I would make is that the food was good but nothing tasted better than that. Appetizers were a bit void of flavor and entrees were not special.

The atmosphere has changed with numerous long tables and lacks intimacy. The food was just ok and I remembered it being more unique. Good location and view. Great waitress! She made the meal fun!

Our first time Black Fin's. A nice casual spot on the water to celebrate our 33rd anniversary. A little cold out, but nothing overwhelming. Service was very good and prompt. Food was hit and miss. My wife's shrimp platter was very good. My fish and chips was cold and very dry. Our food came back in record time right after we ordered, which led me to wonder if the fish is made in large batches and sitting out. That stated, eventually we'll go back, after trying other venues nearby.

Our waitress was excellent. She did tell us in advance that the kitchen was backed up, which we were fine with because we were not in a rush. We ordered the coconut shrimp as an appetizer. My husbands stuffed flounder was great, however my Mahi clearly sat under the heat lamp for too long while waiting for his to cook. When it came out it was not hot and over cooked. It was also a small portion of fish. Barely edible.

Fun place. Like visiting a non-sleezey honky tonk or Porkys but with good food and fun times. Catch of the day fish, reasonably priced beer and wine. Entertainment top notch on the Saturday night at the adjacent bar...metal/country . Good times.
