Blackberry Farm's renowned cuisine is definitely rooted in what comes from our farm as well as the region. Often described as Foothills Cuisine®, it wanders the line between refined and rugged, borrowing from both haute cuisine and the foods indigenous to Blackberry's Smoky Mountain heritage. Guests have the delightful adventure of fulfilling their gourmet desires in three warmly inviting and wondrously inventive restaurants. Blackberry Farm is a rare collection of artisans - the chef, the master gardener, the baker, the cheese maker, the forager, the butcher, the preservationist, the restaurant manager, the sommelier - who blend their unique talents to create what our guests know as Blackberry Farm.

Dinner at Blackberry Farm was a wonderful Valentine surprise for my wife. The staff were friendly, warm, knowledgeable and on top of their game while not coming across as pestering. Everything from cocktails to cordials exceeded our expectations and the food was executed to perfection.

Ok, so we really had no idea what we were getting into here...and to say we were a bit taken aback by the whole experience would be an understatement. Though we consider ourselves to be upstanding citizens and Coke from "good stock" we do not fit in with the class of folks that frequent such establishments. The experience was unforgettable, mainly because we still can't believe folks pay that kind of money for dinner. Yes, the food was delicious, yes the service was exquisite, yes the surroundings were incredibly beautiful...but seriously, even with a most excellent evening together with my beautiful bride all of those things do not add offset the sense of regret I felt when the bill was charged to my credit card. The menu pricing was deceptive - each item's price was in addition to the price of the previous course...hard to describe even in retrospect. Suffice it to say, what we THOUGHT we were going to pay was WAY too expensive for the food we were served...and it wasn't a fraction of the actual charges that came in. When it was time to leave we were not given a bill or receipt with a breakdown of're required to register a credit card with guest services upon arrival. The total amount was charged to my card several days later and until I called and asked for a breakdown of the charges I didn't get one...and even then it was vague - "Restaurant $xxx.xx"

I'm so glad Blackberry Farm accepts outside reservations now. My husband and I dined there for Valentine's Day. We were not disappointed. Every aspect of the dinner was phenomenal. I ordered the wreckfish and the puréed potatoes that were served with it were out of this world! I wish I could've just had a large serving of the potatoes and I would've been satisfied. The restaurant/barn is beautiful. We were a bit confused on where to go as we drove in but after a few wrong turns we finally made it to the right place. It didn't bother us at all because the lack of signage just adds to the beauty of the property. I'm already looking forward to going back and perhaps even spending the night!
