I had one of the best meals of my life at Blackbelly, I had the waygu flank steak, along with a precursor of fresh oysters and char-sui. Celebrating a great year with great food. Sat at the counter and enjoyed our conversations with the chefs.

Our server, Brooke was delightful and amazing! Great restaurant overall. Side dishes and charcuterie were delicious!! However, our party of 6 ordered the 36 ounce steak ($255) and it just OK..., NO FLAVOR... I may be spoiled by the ATLANTA area steak houses like Little Alley and Bones.
Good food, good service, great time, we'll be back.
Everything was perfect from the first sip to the last bite. Our reserved table was not to our liking, so we were graciously moved to a quieter corner. We ordered a drink which was too strong for our taste, and it was politely replaced with a pair of Vodka Collins's, refreshing and delicious with our perfectly cooked burgers. The chef even sent a surprise amuse bouche for us to enjoy because we had ordered the "wrong" cocktail. Such delight! Nancy Barnard, Boulder Colorado

Blackbelly is our favorite restaurant in Boulder and is our go to “special occasion” spot. Every meal we’ve had there is delicious and the staff is so well versed and friendly, it’s a perfect experience all around. Thanks for being our last meal before we leave Boulder, Blackbelly! We’ll be back, even if it’s just for a meal here!
Absolutely a fantastic dining experience. Everything was top notch: food, staff, everything! While definitely on the hire end of prices, it was worth it! We sat at the counter seating and were so glad that we did, as the staff interaction, watching the food preparation and camaraderie of the guests was an incredible experience.
Really a fun place to eat, drink and have fun with friends. The food is quite good and the service was outstanding. Its a little loud noise wise but a fun evening will be had.
I have eaten in the restaurant several times and was very happy with the meal. Not this time! We ordered burgers and one was overcooked, ordered medium rare and it was well. Sent it back to receive another well done burger! They did not charge us but would have rather eaten a delicious properly cooked one. This is basic in the restaurant world I don’t plan on going back to Blackbelly.
Great food and even better service. The crispy pig ears are a tremendous appetizer.

We arrived on time for our reservation, but had to wait 20-25 mins until our reserved space at the chef's bar was available. Other than that, great food and great experience again at Blackbelly.
We had made a reservation for counter top spots through OpenTable at the chefs counter but when we arrived we were seated in the corner. This was very disappointing because it was our actual anniversary (2/29!) and we were really looking forward to the experience. The food, service, etc was all still great but we were looking forward to the experience.
Amazing food! Sitting at the counter was really fun - they gave us a couple of little samples while we were there.

We had a lovely dinner with my parents. The food was superb and our service was excellent. I had the Koji marinated Pork with smoke mushrooms on the side....outstanding!

My husband and I had a fabulous dinner at Blackbelly Sunday night. We arrived a little early and were seated right away. Our server Lenny was knowledgeable about the menu and the wines, attentive but not hovering, and he could not have been more pleasant. Everything was delicious- from the bread and butter, the posole, the oysters, the ono, the Wagyu beef Koji tenderloin (a special, do NOT miss this if it's available!), and the cheese plate for dessert. We highly recommend Blackbelly to anyone wanting a terrific meal!
Started the meal with some cocktails that were tasty. Food is always delicious and unique. The flank steak was perfectly cooked and the Demi glace was amazing. Probably the best piece of beer we’ve had in a long time. Service was great. I would always make reservations- it’s a small place and definitely gets busy any day of the week.
Great food and drinks. Loved the Pork Special tonight. Always a good time despite the noise level but hey, aleast the restaurant is busy.
Over sauced dishes. Meat dish mains are a poor value.
I’ve only been in Boulder a short time but this is definitely my favorite restaurant so far.
This is one of my top favorite restaurants to introduce to visiting guests or business associates. From the bar to the dessert - every stage of the dining experience is high quality and unique... and fresh organic!

Last year, the tasting menu on Valentine's day was superb. Every dish was perfectly conceived and prepared. This year, it was quite another matter. The beef was the only course that was excellent. The starter foie gras was just OK, but a fried meat patty is really more of a bar-food item than a first course for a romantic date. The fish was on the dry side, in spite of all the bling it was dressed with, and the pasta dish should never have made the cut at all. It was served lukewarm at best, for starters, and was far too sweet to be anything but dessert. The beet flavor was so cloying that it was inedible for me. The dessert was visually pleasing if you're seven years old, but had little connection to actual food, like a real fruit cobbler might have. On top of all that, the wine pairing servings were so stingy that it felt like a money maker rather than a delicious and thoughtful treat to the customer. Dropping $300 for such a meal was supremely disappointing, and sours me on going back at all.
Another perfect 5 course tasting menu. The wine parings were exceptional! If you have read the new Stone Barrington novel “Treason”, well not as good as those wines. But one can dream!
The food was wonderful as always! My favorite course was the first. Seared Foie gras and sweetbreads terrine. But see the pics and you decide!
We enjoyed the 5 course tasting menu on Valentine's Day. It was superb. Our server was amazing! She guided us through each course and helped us choose some truly delicious cocktails to accompany our food. The courses were very creative and we enjoyed every one of them. The Wagyu beef entree was a definite highlight!! We'll be back as soon as possible.
Went w/ my 11-year old daughter for her birthday on a Tuesday night. It was lively and delicious. Everything from the staff to food was impeccable. We sat at the kitchen bar which was fun. Really enjoyed our experience! Highly recommend for any occasion!
it was extremely overpriced for the atmosphere. Can go to trendy places on Pearl Street for the same cost. Wine and liquor pricing not acceptable
We always start with the beef tartare and typically order an entree from the specials menu. We’ve never had a single item we didn’t gush over, be it a small plate or the Blackbelly burger. The service is also excellent, the servers are so knowledgeable about helping chose a beverage to pair with your food as well as all menu items. Every trip to Blackbelly is a special occasion whether it’s an anniversary, birthday or just a night out.

Another perfect evening at Blackbelly! I started with the oysters and they had big deep bellies and were delicious! Then a small salad and a sticky yummy butcher’s skewer - char sis. Delicious!

The people in the Blackbelly Kitchen are experts at putting winning flavor combinations together! Each bite was as delicious as the first. We had the deep fried short rib as a starter Delightful the steak tar tar had great flavor. The filet of shoulder was very tender. Our waitress was a delight. Her description of the menu made us want to order it all. We had a lovely evening. Great service great food.
