Quality craft cocktails, reliably solid food offerings, consistently outstanding service. BSB is our go to place.

It is pricey for what you get...but it was good. And the service was great. $12 for a bowl of butter lettuce and dressing...just saying.

We really enjoyed the meal. Our server was attentive and friendly. The food was unique and beautifully cooked. Our only minor complaint was that we were seated next to a very noisy group table ( not the fault of the restaurant) and that it was pricey for the serving size. I will definitely go back again though.

This was my third time having dinner at Black sheep. Absolutely loved it. the menu has changed since we last went, and we enjoyed the new dishes. the pork chop was cooked perfectly, well seasoned, moist and a beautiful crust. Love that they added spaetzle! the duck liver mousse with brioche was delicious as always. great cocktails and wine prices. thanks for a nice evening!

We had heard wonderful things about BSB and enjoyed our evening. The porterhouse special was a little disappointing and not cooked to our liking. We would’ve sent it back but we didn’t see our server again until near the end of the meal. The sides, cocktails, and appetizers were all perfect.

Overall it was a good experience and we will probably give it another try in the future to see if ordering something different makes the difference.

This was our second dining experience at Black Sheep Brasserie and was just as wonderful as our first.
Chef Jeff and his team do not disappoint in the culinary department and the wait staff is spot on. Reuben does a fabulous job taking care of his guests and I highly recommend this dining spot to anyone looking for fabulous craft cocktails and great food.

As always, had another phenomenal meal at Black Sheep. We've been here several times, and have always had incredible food and service. They have never put anything other than different and delicious dishes on the table. Steak tartare, oysters, French onion soup, and pork chop were all out of this world.

Went for an early dinner (5:45) to treat ourselves after a few grueling weeks. There were only a few people and perfect for the environment we needed. The food was great, service above average and the check shocking. :-) it was worth the splurge, but excessively expensive.

Delicious, well-prepared food? Check.
Quick and attentive service? Check.
Value for the money? Check.
Good location for a romantic dinner with your special someone? Not at all.
The only complaint here is that the tables are on top of each other in a large open space. I understand that more tables = more customers per hour, but for the premium prices being charged I expect the ambiance to meet the same high standards as the food and the service. My better half and I were barely able to hold a conversation while we were there, and we felt like we were yelling at each other in order to be heard. Any type of acoustic treatment (carpets, wall hangings, acoustic tile, etc...) would be welcome.

We arrived a little early and was greeted and seated immediately. We started with a couple drinks and the beef tartare, which a coworker had recommended. We decided to order some small plates and then share an entree. We ordered the Puff Pastry Flatbread, Burrata, Hokkaido Scallops and the Roasted Half Chicken entree. The beef tartare was excellent and came as a spread with bread. I love scallops and Thai red curry and these did not disappoint. There was a too much blu cheese on the flatbread for our liking, it wasn't bad, just too much blue cheese. The burrata was interesting, it was a sweet onion dish with garlic confit that also came with toasted bread. If you like roasted onions, this should be a must try. I'm not a big onion fan but this was tasty. We both loved the roasted chicken, it came with pommes puree and roasted carrots and was delicious. We weren't going to order dessert, but then the table next to us ordered the buttermilk beignets...sold! We ended up ordering the same. I would definitely recommend checking this place out and we will be coming back to try the other items on their menu.

Food was delicious but salty. We were really thirsty afterwards. Also 5% surcharge for non-tip workers? Well, service was excellent, ambiance should be more classy considering the type of food they're serving. We were a little disappointed

Overall it was ok. Food was underwhelming and overpriced for the quality, from small plate to desserts. Pork chop was good but not so good that we would be dreaming of it. We are quite disappointed. Service was good though. There are many restaurants with better food at this price point. Sorry to say that we won't be back.

I’ve tried twice and the food has underwhelmed me both times. From main entree to dessert, just blah. The service was much better the second time and occasionally I’ll settle with not fantastic food if the service makes up for it but I won’t be going back.

Our experience was greatly enhanced by our server, Tyler. He was well versed in the dishes and knew how they were prepared. He was also helpful without being intrusive. The hit on the charcuterie plate was the duck pâté. So good! I enjoyed the skate but could have done without the cold crab on top. The Brussels sprouts were amazing. We had a good time although the noise level is higher than we usually enjoy. Would go again.

Six of us had dinner here recently. For a Saturday night, the restaurant was surprisingly not too crowded. Our wait person was attentive and knowledgeable and efficient. Food was good - not great - but solidly good. Three of us had the lamb and were impressed with the tenderness of the meat as well as the flavor. Two had the Spatzele, which was hearty and very tasty. The other person in our party had the fried chicken thigh and rated it "okay." We didn't have dessert but we thoroughly enjoyed the bottle of wine we chose.

Very enjoyable anniversary dinner with my wife. Excellent, attentive server throughout from the whole team. It's a bustling lively environment which I enjoyed. Lots of great little details like the sheep logo imprinted on the wine glasses. The duck mousse pate and the braised lamb entree were highlights. Still can't work out what I make of the cheese stuffed olive hor d'oeuvre :-). A really nice evening, will definitely be back.

Was disappointed that the bone marrow was not available- it was the main reason I went there!
We were seated by the garage doors so I found it a bit cold the entire dining period.

This was our first visit. It had been on our radar to visit for quite a while, but always thought about it too late to get in the same day. Made reservations a week in advance this time and had no trouble. Restaurant was busy, but not over-packed on a Saturday evening. Noise level was pleasantly moderate - quiet enough to have a conversation without having to lean in and shout or even raise our voices.
Service was outstanding - server had good suggestions and guided us when requested. Attentive and gracious on all fronts.
Food was especially delicious - got the small plate scallops as an appetizer and they may have been the best we've had. Perfectly cooked - not raw, not rubbery - with a delicious crisp sear. Husband loved his pork chop and I thought the new gnocchi was divine. We ate every last bite. And the bread pudding was excellent. Definitely will return.

Unsure if I’d call it French anything to be honest. Think an upscale greasy spoon with a decent ambiance awesome service. Frites and Duck mousse were really bad, Escargot was a bit too rich & the saddest part was the Lamb shank - an awesome piece of lamb that was totally wasted. We had to fix up leftovers next day and it was great. Our server was sweet and efficient but there’s only so much the waitstaff can do.

Food was good, just felt like the value was not fully equivalent with the price. Entrees were on point, but they nickel and dime costs arose from the drinks ($24 old fashioned, seriously?!) and side plates.

Overall good experience. I recommend the brussels sprouts.

Noise level was very high at the beginning of the night, thankfully the place cleared out and we could hear the other side of our 4 person table.

Wonderful restaurant in the heart of Willow Glen. Menu has a nice mixture of French, Italian and some American influences to choose from. If you order multiple courses the dining experience takes its time, but the drink menu and kind service are worth it. A special occasion spot for sure due to its pricy bill.
