The food was excellent and the setting was wonderful even with the rain. It is a little hard to find in the Sheraton hotel but worth the maze at first. They also have a lounge bar next door where you can either start your meal off with a cocktail(s) or end the night there with an after dinner drink(s).
The dining room has nice greaen garden view. The Lanai is very pleasant seating area. The food is very fresh and prepared nicely. The service was excellent. It was a bit noisy when they had the cliff diving ceremony as the music was on in the dining room and you could also hear the information about the cliff dive. Also I felt the chairs on the lanai could benefit from being covered with cushions.
The food was absolutely delicious. Antonio was a very good waiter and we thought highly of him. The outdoor seating area was appreciated and very good ambiance. The downside was the decor, furniture and overall ambiance style seemed a bit outdated and not up to par. I'm glad we sat outside. Would have been very sad to have sat inside due to looks. We almost left, but got great seating outside, then thought the food was so good we're glad we stayed.
Amazing food, terrible service. The hostess and server did not read my reservation notes either. Our waiter would disappear for long periods of time. He was not helpful, not interactive, basically left us alone the majority of the meal. Had to ask for bread, more water, refills etc. Had to ask for dessert even though I had written it was a birthday. Had to ask for a high chair even though I had written in advance. Lots of restaurants comp birthday desserts or do a candle- something.....
I recommend for the food and atmosphere. Staff are pretty bad here. We never saw a manager the whole night.
It was fine, but I was upset because the menu was different and the prices on the open table menu were off by 50%. What we thought would cost $42 actually cost $65. We had the surf and turf and the lobster tail was small and the steak was thin for the price.
3/2017. Had the crab cakes for appetizer and they were prepared average. Good but not excellent. Then moved on to the surf and turf. Steak was cooked perfectly for a medium rare steak. Flavor was good but not great. I love steak and I am very picky when I rate steak because I have had some amazing steaks . I think the key to the flavor of steaks is how they have been aged to provide the best flavor. This steak was good but not great. The lobster had a good flavor too and was somewhat tender. If I come back I will probably try something new. The staff was amazing. They are very attentive and polite. They want to know more about you and want to make you dining experience a great one. I give the staff an A+.
I was at the restaurant the evening before. Me and some friends stopped in for drinks. The lounge area was full, so we sat in the dining area. They were closing in about 15 minutes, which was quite clear. We couldn't get anyone to wait on us. We asked numerous people and nobody was willing to assist, they kept telling us to go to someone else. It was quite rude. Had I known, this was the same place, I wouldn't have made reservations for dinner the next day. When we got there the hostess seemed frantic too. Very disorganized. Food was average and the prices were way too high for the quality of food. I will not go back the next time I visit, and I won't recommend to our friends who are visiting there next month.

Particularly we made a booking and we're not able to order from the menu as it was the New Year's eve special event that did not show up with our booking

Our server was rude, would not explain things when asked (for instance, we asked what comes in a particular dish and he said it's just a regular dish you should know - while I understand he sees these dishes every day, my family does not, so it came off very rude), and just was an overall horrible experience.
My boyfriend and I went there for a New Years dinner. When we got there we were given a prix fixe menu of $200 per person! This menu was not on their website when we booked. Thankfully, we were able to order from the regular menu. Entrees were pretty good but at $40 they were overpriced. All in all felt like a rip off.
Black Rock kitchen was very quiet because there were only 3 other couples dining. The waiter Anthony was very friendly and outgoing. My husband had the catch of the day, Monchong. It had an Oscar crust and was served with broccolini and sweet potato hash. He enjoyed everything. I tasted his Monchong and it was delicious with the Oscar crust and little bland without it. We shared a babyback ribs app. It was delicious!! They were nice and tender and the sauce was excellent. I wasn't very hungry so I had the pork belly bang mi app as my meal. It wasn't the best I've ever had but it was good enough. If we go back, we'll probably just order a bunch of different apps.
