Food was good
Drinks were good
Beer selection is good and diverse.
Our waitress, Olivia was fantastic (among the best). The restaurant overall continues to struggle with staff so the quality of service tends to be hit or miss. Hopefully they will invest in more consistency.
I made reservations to have a special dinner with my significant other 2 nights ago. Arrived at 7:04 for a 7:15 reservation. We were told to have a seat at the bar until our table was ready. So we did. 5 mins later we were seated. After being seated at 7:10 we did not receive a server at this time it was 7:28 and I went back to the hostess who sent a server over. He took our appetizer order. It came out we got calamari and it was wonderful. Again didn’t see the server another 10 mins. Finally he came back after we flagged him down and placed our order. We got our food and ate. Another 30 mins go by no waiter. Finally he comes back and we get the check. He double charged us for 2 beers we had purchased from the bar before we were seated. Why would you just charge me for beers and not assume I paid for them as they were half gone when we sat down. Completely horrible service and I heard nothing but great things. Enjoyed the food and atmosphere but the worst service I have ever had. He charged my card then had to cancel and redo for charging me for beers he never gave us and clearly we wouldn’t leave the bar and not pay for them. So so very disappointed.
Family night out for a casual dinner, adults and kids had a good meal. Perfect relaxed, stress free dining close to home.
Michael was great, service and food was excellent. I've been here before and I will come again.
The cedar plank salmon was the best I’ve ever had. It was cooked to perfection with a little crispy edges. It cane with string beans and sliced red skinned potatoes. Those were also delicious and cooked perfectly. Best meal I’ve had in a long time out. Great, friendly service and huge beer selection. The restaurant is nicely decorated and is you are a revolutionary war buff it has a lot of history.
Cool place inside. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable. The food was not so good.
Food was awesome. We were seated in the room opposite the bar. Noise was deafening. And we seemed to be on a service path of kitchen to bar to larger room. Our waitress was inattentive and failed to bring oil and vinegar that we asked for. She also brought the wrong salad dressing. We asked two separate waitstaff for assistance since she was MIA. Someone else delivered the check and rang us up.
Busy. Very Loud. Mussels were marginal. $16 Burger was good. Wine selection is standard. Would meet a friend there again but probably not go again otherwise. Service was mediocre. Server was good food runners were confused. It was Very busy and I've heard the bar is the best bet.
We went there for brunch. We had previously been there for dinner. Dinner was much better than the Sunday Brunch.
I have enjoyed this venue for both business & personal activities.
Although this is one of our favorite go-tos, we had picky family in town and decided to take them there. They all found something on the menu they liked and were very happy with the food and atmosphere. It was great success! I love this restaurant!
Excellent food and as usual great service
Cedar salmon perfectly cooked as usual. Strip steak good beer choices fine. Accommodating to doing the Brussels sprouts without bacon on friday in lent. A very good neighborhood place
We were in for lunch, celebrating news of a recent promotion at work. The short rib grilled cheese is one of the best items on the menu. The tavern club looked wonderful as well. Olivia is a great server! Excellent spot for lunch or dinner.
Great food and service. The salmon was perfect cooked. Our sever Alice was friendly and attentive.
I had the salmon, my wife had a steak. Both were excellent. Draft beer was excellent. It's a fun place, kind of noisy, lots of TV's. We'll go again.
This was our third or fourth time there (we are from MA) and it never disappoints! The menu is so creative, the portions are big and the atmosphere is comfortable and clean. I look forward to my next visit there.
I had been here a couple of times, for lunch, in the past few month, and was very happy with the food. I thought the angus burger was one of the best around, and told my dining companion about it. That's why we went...to get a good burger for dinner. I ordered mine med well, and he ordered medium. They both arrived so well done, that they were actually dry in the center.
Maybe it was a new chef, or maybe the daytime person is just better at it. In any event, it was a disappointment. Also, the caesar salad dressing could have benefited from an anchovy.
The server was very good!
I came here before, food was always good but for some reason the food at that night was not as good as before. Might be a busy Friday night? Cheesy fry stuffs were heavier than I thought. Other than that the service was good and the atmosphere was good as well.
Great tavern food. Our waiter Tom was attentive and provided quality service. We will definitely be back!
Food and Beer list are great! Sometimes it’s so busy that service takes a hit but everything else is so great it’s worth it!
Good food as always. A very busy saturday night but reservation was honored on time and service was just fine despite the full house.
Love the round tables for parties of 6! Being able to see and talk with all is great, although it was rather crowded and noisy on a Saturday evening to hear all the conversation at the table.
Good options and everyone in the group seemed to enjoy what they ordered.
Date night, great place to grab a bite to eat before heading to a comedy club. The Ahi Tuna special was amazing and the side of Brussels sprouts with bacon, Yum Yum.
Always good food and many great choices. A great place to meet friends for lunch or dinner. Parking lot is not very big so can be a problem at times.
Took my team to lunch. Our server was fabulous!- great recommendations, very attentive, and super friendly. Everyone loved their lunch: the foodie enjoyed the eggplant soup and shrimp salad sandwich, I enjoyed the smoked salmon blt, the Italian burger was raved about, and the club hit the spot. This place can always be depended on for delicious food.
This is a great place for a business lunch. There is plenty of parking and plenty of room inside for multiple parties. The menu is diverse enough to satisfy many different tastes, and the prices are reasonable.
Black Powder is now a go to place for me and several friends for happy hours that are superb and evening casual dinner. It's a great pub with a good bar area that's a little small so get there early. It get's crowded and the noise bounces off the walls and hardwood floors, but on the whole, it's a good atmosphere. The happy hour menu is great and they have some interesting apps. The regular menu has something for everyone including salads, pot pie, fish and chips, burgers, and more substantive entrees if you need a steak. Lots of craft beers, Boddingtons on draft with nitro is a find, and then there's a good Guinness pour. Wine list is ok. Good service for the most part.
Hadn’t been in a while. Everyone’s entrees were good. Delicious appetizers. Good beer. Good service.
I was more than pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and service, the comfort and spaciousness of our booth and the lively but not overwhelmingly noisy dining area. The food was absolutely delicious, from the butternut squash soup to my perfectly cooked and seasoned hangar steak. Nice dessert menu, wide range of beer and cocktails, friendly and professional service and very reasonably priced. The patrons ranged from families with small children to older couples out for a nice neighborhood dinner... we are not from the neighborhood and I would definitely go again whenever we are in the area. Five minutes from king of Prussia mall and well worth the ride for anyone who needs an excellent meal.
Awesome food and service!! The mac and cheese is my favorite, I get it every time. Waiters are great and attentive, also very knowledgeable about the menu. The only thing we did not really enjoy were the desserts, creme brulee and bread pudding.
Good food, nice atmosphere, good service but a bit noisy
Excellent food and prompt service, very appropriate before an evening at the theater.
Parking space is more limited than we are used to for self parking. Valet service is available.
A friend and I went for lunch. We were seated right away and our waitress came to our table quickly after we were seated. We both had salads which we enjoyed. The mix of ingredients was good and we found them tasty. Our waitress was very pleasant and attentive. Overall a very pleasant experience.
We another great visit to Black Powder Tavern. We asked to move to different table because of noise and were accommodated immediately. We enjoyed that location, and the food was excellent. We'll be back!
The service was excellent; very relaxed and friendly. The food is always good.
We had a 12:15pm reservation for 7 and had never been previously. Pleased by the atmosphere and the charm of the place. Our server was training a new server and didn't seem happy about it. Our drink order and salads came out quickly, however, we then had to wait over 45 minutes for our meals to come. When the server came by with other people's orders, she threw over her shoulder that our food would be out "soon". The food was delivered with no apologies for the delay. The quality was excellent and everyone agreed it tasted very good. Our server came out with the check and stated "you didn't wan't coffee or dessert, right?". Not a great first impression for service.
I had a business lunch at the Black Powder Tavern with one other person. From the nice reception when first checking in to the good service provided by the waiter, everything was excellent. We didnt eat much food, just a roast beef sandwich with fries and a salmon salad, but both of us thoroughly enjoyed out lunches and were able to discuss what we needed to discuss without being rushed. We had a a good meeting and a good meal. Thank you.
One of our go-to spots. Food is always great, service always on point and they have great liquor and wine selection. Rewards program pays off too!
Great food and beer selection !
