Black Powder Tavern
Our meal took a very long time. Some of the plates and silverware were not cleaned properly.
Have always received great service and excellent food. If you're looking for a quiet place for dinner, this isn't it. But I recommend it for great service, food, and relaxed atmosphere. Will happily go back when in the area.
I met a friend who I had not seen in a long time. We sat and chatted and our waiter understood and took his time in asking for our order and he quietly refilled drinks, etc., while we talked. Also, when finished we stayed for a long time talking and no one made us feel like we should leave. It was a great visit and a great experience.
the food that we had was very good , but the one reason i went there on my anniversary was for the harvest salad, because of the fall menu and was not available
Always great food and drinks. Large beer selection and daily specials.
For whatever reason, I didn't realize the Black Powder Tavern was/is a sports bar. Cheering from the fans and servers watching the big screen TVs periodically interrupted my party's brunch conversation. The food was good, though.
Very quaint and cozy. Tina, our server, was great! Would definitely go back again.
Great food, great service!!! Jess our server was the best!!She took great care of us!
This is a great tavern for simple comfort food. The historic ambiance is cozy and welcoming. We enjoyed the Irish nachos as appetizer followed by burgers. Both the cheeseburger and prime burger were good and cooked to taste. There is a good wine list with moderate prices. Service was great. The complimentary valet parking is very helpful. We will return to try other dishes.
Very good overall. Location, exterior and Interior were very attractive. I was a little disappointed in the Chicken Marsala. The sauce was very thick and lacked flavor.
The waitstaff is always excellent, host/hostess while a bit aloof are always working hard and seating people as soon as possible. The food is good though sometimes under seasoned.
The food was very good...we were seated in the bar area so our waiter had to work the bar and the tables...service was slow because of this.
Per usual, staff was professional & personable. Hostess Barb, always has a big, welcoming smile.
The staff was friendly, but the food was only okay. The fries were cold, and the sandwich was soggy after having been left to sit too long. I don't need to return.

As always, the food was great. There was actually parking spots available - unusual for a Saturday night at 6:30. Finally, service was very slow....seemed like they were understaffed.
Greek salad missing key ingredient
We loved our waitress.
Our server was friendly & quite personable. We enjoyed how he interacted with us. Food was good and served in a reasonable time for a busy lunch crowd. Parking is a bit tight, but they offer free valet parking.
The tavern was beautiful, the menu sounded delicious. The service was horrible, we waited and were ignored finally the bar tender reluctantly came to our table to take a drink order. We were ignored again as he waited on a walk in customer who purchased 2 six packs, he actually placed the six packs in Black garbage bags for a take out purchase. We still didn’t receive water and were ignored so we left.

Been here several times. Always consistently good
Overall a nice dining experience. Server was attentive. Generous portions for main courses. Okay portion for Irish nachos. Desserts for tasty and good size for sharing between two.
Service was very slow. From arrival until completion of the meal, we were constantly waiting for service on drink orders, delivery of same and food service. My ribs were too tough to remove from the bone and had to be sent back. I chose a cheeseburger instead, which was very good. My wife’s meal was not good either. The overall experience will preclude us from returning to this establishment. We had been looking forward to the five of us getting together, but the evening was negatively impacted by the food and service.

Always good food and drinks. Really nice ambiance.
Went for the Sunday brunch. The carving station meat was cold. The attendant for the carving and omelette stations was inattentive. Had to send a search party for our server twice. We will not go back.

This visit was a do over from a previous visit when we experienced very poor service. I gave my review for when we went to the restaurant on father's day. We had really bad service. The General Manager, Bernie Bottmeyer, reached out to me immediately. He was very apologetic and sent us 2 free meals for anytime. This time the service was outstanding. Alyssa, our server, had no idea about our past experience with the service we had before at this restaurant. My husband and I had a very nice dinner and again, amazing service. Thank you for a great anniversary dinner and for extending the free meals.
We had an enjoyable dinner for two on a Friday night. The place was busy and loud. The staff was friendly but seemed stretched thin. The food was good. In particular, the fish and chips was excellent. The steak was tasty, but we ordered it medium rare, and it was served very rare. The creme brulee was fair. We look forward to going back again and trying other parts of the menu.
Love the poutine here! But all if the food is exceptional!
Conversation was very hard. Couldn’t hear across the table
Great historic ambiance - A GREAT AMERICAN PUB
The food was excellent! Loved the decor. The staff were very friendly. Lots of variety on menu and prices were good. Food came quickly. Restaurant and bathrooms clean. Free valet parking. We would come again!
I was very excited by the menu but unfortunately the food and service did not live up to expectations. I asked for the poutine burger special without the bun. It came with the bun, and the "poutine" toppings were sparce. I asked for more gravy and some vegetables. It took 20 mins to get even the gravy. My food was cold by then. The veg was delicious but I was eating it after my guests plate was finished and taken away.
Given the rating on this site i was hoping for a lot more

Reservation was for my birthday. Greeted by Hostess Barbara with a "Happy Birthday"! Escorted to table where friends were seated - a Happy Birthday card was @ my setting. Water and menus already on table, waiter Pat right there to take drink orders. Food arrived in timely fashion. Dessert with candle was complimentary from BPT!!! WHAT a great luncheon! The staff @ BPT know how to make one feel special!
Cheesy Devils on horseback - perfect appetizer! My wife and I have been here many times - great beer selection as well.
I had previously had business lunches at the Tavern. My wife and I were in the area and decided to try it for dinner. Great meal and service.
Chick.pot pies & burgers outstanding. Desserts disappointing.
Excellent salad with blackened salmon, delicious!
This was our first time here. The food was amazing! The waitress was great with our 5 year old son which is always appreciated! The ambiance was very nice. We will definitely be back!
Celebrated my daughter’s birthday and they had a birthday card waiting for her when we arrived. Very nice touch. We had a wonderful dinner!
Very friendly and warm reception. Hostess and waitress were friendly and nice. I highly recommend
Great food, great atmosphere, very good service. Well made drinks.
