Arrived for an 8:30pm reservation on a Saturday night. As soon as we walked in we were informed that the restaurant is getting ready to close, despite a half full dining room. The entire meal was rushed, from ordering to the food arriving to our plates being cleared (I was still chewing a mouthful of my entree when asked by the server if our plates could be cleared), despite the large, loud party in the center of the dining room not looking at all like they were leaving any time soon. Although the food was at least average, I have little interest in returning, as I can easily patronize restaurants that will welcome the business instead of rushing it out the door.

I've been here a few times and the food is always good. The food is always authentic and sk flavorful. My one wish is that they served alcohol with a full bar but it is a byob.

We are greeted by our friendly waiter, and it gets better from there. The bread is warm, the olive oil delicious. The meals are very satisfying, whether we share or enjoy our own. Great lunch menu.

Black Olive was as good as we have come to expect. They were busy and the place had a noisy buzz about it. The two of us stuck with appetizers so we can enjoy more flavors. The Taramosalata is the best I have had anywhere and on this particular night it did not disappoint. As a side note, I do wish they would provide more grilled pita bread with it. I never have enough. Next we had the Roasted Red Peppers stuffed with Goat Cheese. Warm and delightful. The Chicken Souvlaki was ever so tender and the Grape Leaves were so fresh, warm and the lemon sauce we ended wiping up with a piece of crusty bread. Bring your own wine to this local south Jersey restaurant and plan on enjoying a fabulous and casual meal!
We truly feel this is a GEM!

The place was a plesent surprise the squid appatizer was OK but the octopus was very good! My roast lamb was good too

This is a BYOB Greek cuisine restaurant. Ambiance was so so. It is very loud and tables are quite close to one another. The server was attentive and friendly. The grilled octopus appetizer my husband ordered was excellent. It was seasoned very well and especially tender. My tzatiki app was very good. We shared a Greek salad which was yummy. My husband had the roasted leg of lamb entree which he said was excellent, and I the Platki, which was also very good. Overall, I would recommend the Black Olive for a casual dinner. It is not a place I would go to for a romantic evening or for a special occasion.

The food was delicious. Although very crowded for a pleasantly warmer Saturday evening in January, our server welcomed us and made sure we had everything we needed. She was cheerful and made the night all the more enjoyable.

Very Good food and service. Cold nite so it was chilly in there . Should Pull down blinds on big windows to help keep heat in . Build 1/2 wall by the booths to prevent cold air from coming in when door opened.

Food was authentic and delicious. Josh our server was excellent. Only problem we shared with other diners was the freezing cold temperature inside! We had to eat dinner with our coats on, as did many others. We did ask for heat but it never really got comfortable. That was the only problem. Otherwise, all good. Will go back for sure.

Good Food but Slow Service Waitress was young and pleasant, but kept forgetting to bring my drink. She also went missing for a long period of time. After she took our order and brought our food a short while later, she vanished!

Good food but poor service. This was not our first visit here but I think it will be a while before we go back. Our food was very tasty but the service was not good. Most of our table ordered dinner platters which come with either a soup or a salad. Just a few minutes after we got the soup and salads and, as we had just started eating them, the waiter brought our main dishes. He ignored the obvious fact that we were still eating - and most of the soup/salad plates were over half full - and insisted on putting our main dishes on the table. There wasn't room on the table for everything so I had to put my salad on the adjacent table or give it up before I had a chance to eat it.
After we finished eating, we sat around the table for a while talking, enjoying coffee, etc. About 5-6 other tables in the room were doing the same at 9 PM on a Saturday evening. Suddenly, the heat was turned off and the entire restaurant got very cold. According to Black Olive web site, the restaurant is open until 10 PM every night, and I would have expected them to stay open until 10 on a Saturday night. But the staff was ready to go home and decided all of the patrons should as well. So, just after 9 PM, we and all the other patrons left the restaurant because it had gotten uncomfortably cold. Unfortunately, my recollection of the bad service and being forced to leave before we were ready to say good night to our friends, will be top in my mind the next time we look for a restaurant in the Voorhees, NJ area.
