Everything was wonderful! Great food selection & dessert. OMG, the black cherry in wine sauce over vanilla ice cream was to die for!
My fiancee and I LOVE coming here!! One of my favorite meals out - the food is absolutely delicious, I can't get enough! I always get the Wiener Schnitzel, and my fiancee gets the chicken schnitzel - both are tasty and perfectly cooked, sooo buttery and delicious. I usually get the half portion schnitzel, which is perfectly sized for me. The spatzel is so good I always get two orders for myself, OMG I am almost drooling just thinking about it haha! Recently tried the potato pancakes too, they were 'sehr lecker' with applesauce and sour cream :) Just as a head's up, if you've never dined here before, these dishes tend to be pretty buttery and high in salt, so you might want to ask your server to go light on the butter and salt if you are watching your diet (or opt for an entree not fried in butter). The cheddar spread they serve with the bread is also very tasty. Was a bit noisy by the bar as they had live music on Saturday night, but the hostess gave us the option to choose where we sat, and the other dining areas were quiet and pleasant. Can't wait to go back!
Celebrated my wife's birthday with our family. Diverse menu that satisfied all of us. Venison and duck were both excellent.
They didn’t have my reservation but sat us anyway. The server was new and told us that repeatedly. She wasn’t very good at answering questions and she said the menu was also new. It would have been more helpful if the menu had descriptions of the food.
I was impressed by the greeting from all the staff. food was excellent, service was efficient and friendly. Worth the hour ride
The food was absolutely outstanding!
Fat, Fat and more fat for too much money
Slow poor service. Meat was fatty and
not good for what was paid. Not too happy.
We had a great time and enjoyed our food tremendously. The Black Forest Inn is THE place for authentic German cuisine and old fashioned German ambiance. The decor reminds me a lot of the medieval Ratskeller we have visited in Germany. The food also tastes like it comes from one of those kitchens, where the recipes are handed down from generation to generation and not being fused with the tastes and ingredients from other continents. We especially appreciate the venison dishes. Good selection of wines and beers, cocktails and Schnappses. Friendly servers in traditional dirndls. Even though the restaurant was filled to capacity, we were served in a timely manner.
It is amazing to me how a restaurant can serve so many people on Easter and the quality never changes. This is an outstanding restaurant!!!
Amazing food. Staff are super polite. Only complaint is the food is a bit pricey but the buffet option was nice so that is a good way not to spend too much money. Highly recommend.
We always enjoy going when we want German food. The service was great.
The Black Forest Inn is top on our rotation of dining experiences. Their Potato Crusted Sea Bass is simply to die for, and even my steak loving husband order it when we go there. They have a decent menu selection and German fare is their specialty. The staff is very efficient and attentive.
This is a very nice restaurant. I went with my family and we all loved the food, the service and the layout of the restaurant. The food was delicious; and, the staff was exceptional and very attentive. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone.
We arrived for luncheon and were promptly seated in the newly re-decorated tavern section. Service was prompt and courteous. Food was super and delicious. We had a friend's catch up session, and spent an extended lunch during which time the staff did not hurry us along, and attended to our needs. I very nice place to dine !! Highly Recommend !!!
The replacement of linen table cloths and napkins, with paper; is somewhat of a downgrade. What we considered a 5 star restaurant doesn't seem to be with these changes.
The food continues to be excellent.
The food and service was as amazing as always. The noise level was very high, but, we were warned by the hostess. It did not stop us from having a great evening.
Delicious and authentic German cuisine, cooked and served perfectly! In the past,
we have tried their Friday night buffet, which was a great way to taste the diverse dishes offered. This dining experience was our 4th visit, and we ordered from the menu. We had a table of four and everyone raved about their meal, delicious! Be sure to make reservations on weekend nights, as "The Black Forest Inn" is a definite favorite for many. Enjoy, we sure did!!!
Food was excellent as usual.
The Friday night buffet is not to be missed!!!
Service and food were outstanding! I always love the potato leek soup. Couldn't ask for a nicer Valentines.
From appetizers, entrees, cocktails and dessert, everything was AMAZING! We can't wait to come back.
I would be disappointed if EVERY aspect of the dining experience was not at least superb because for my 35 plus years, that is all I have ever experienced. Alles ist gans gut!
Our dinner on Valentines Day was excellent. We go to the Black Forest often and love it! We have our favorite waitress Melissa who always takes great care of us! Our food was exceptional and can't wait to go back yet again!!
Wonderful food, ambiance and service!!! Always a great time at Black Forest Inn!!!
Authentic German food as well as food for everyone - especially the Bavarian Pretzel!!
Can't wait to go there again!
Food was good not great. Love the old German style decor. Portions small for the price.
Great, authentic German cuisine. We went for my mother's birthday with our family and they were very accommodating. We had a party of 10 and they gave us our own private room.
The Mardi Gras Buffet was incredible. We went up several times and spent a long time tasting everything available. Love their buffets!!!
Black Forest Inn has amazing food, I highly recommend the pork shank. It is absolutely to die for. The beer selection is on point, the food is always very good and the service is top-notch.
We had a good time. The food was really good and portions were generous. We will %o back again.
this was our second time and it was just as good as the first. authentic german and other items were just mouthwatering. friendly staff was nice to have as well. cant wait for the 3rd time!
Great food and service. Went for the authentic German dishes. They did not disappoint. Even my mother in law from Germany loves it. She has been dining at this restaurant for 30+ years.
Great German food, but very pricey for what it is. 4 adults and 3 children $350 . 1 adult and child shared a meal, 2 adults ordered 1/2 orders and a total of 3 glasses of house wine and a glass of beer on tap were ordered. Service was very attentive without being annoying. Beautiful atmosphere and was quiet on a Sunday night. Enjoyable evening, but the price prohibits us from visiting again.
Great food and experience as a whole!! Will definitely be back !
Food is authentic and pretty good, portions are small and I think its overpriced.
Have not been to the restaurant in a while. Was as good as I remembered. Everyone enjoyed the buffet. Chef and waitress were very helpful and friendly. Needed some German music to finish it off.
Very good classic cuisine. German foods highlighted but are somewhat 'Americanized,' i.e., less herbed or otherwise flavored than classics (that is, bland). Seating was quick but service was slow althogh quite friendly.
Great German cuisine with daily specials. Try the venison, it was outstanding!
My dish was delicious. My wife's saurebraten was awful.
Great food. Traditional German cuisine. Warm dining room. You won't leave there hungry! Spaetzle! Weinerschnitzel! How could you go wrong? One complaint...no German chocolate cake on the menu! My son was a bit disappointed.
