Black Cat, opened in 2006 and founded by Chef Eric Skokan and his wife, Jill, serves inspired farm to table cuisine based on the just-picked produce from its own, full-scale 425 acre certified Organic farm. By day, Skokan cares for the vegetables out in his fields. Each evening finds him in the kitchen crafting dishes on his daily changing menu.

Daily pairing menus give our sommeliers ample opportunity to dip into the 400+ selection cellar. The restaurant's wine list places the great wines of the world side-by-side with small, off-the-beaten-path producers from lesser-known regions.

Hand-crafted, seasonal cocktails featuring artisanal spirits & local ingredients show the talent of our professional mixologists who make our bar spring to life.
The Black Cat has a lively, warm atmosphere in its intimate dining room. It is located in the heart of Boulder, CO, just off the historic Pearl Street Mall.

Took my mom to dinner here and we had a spectacular time. At any season, Black Cat is a wonderful showcase of Colorado products.

We enjoyed the Chef's tasting menu w/the classic wine pairing. Everything was delicious. Great service and ambiance. Our night out was $400 dollars so prepare to pay for the outstanding experience.

Attentive service. Extra plates from the kitchen! Greens picked that morning for the salad! Artisanal pork for dinner delicious. Wasn’t a huge fan of the pickled vegetables — a problem with my palette and not the menu -/ but they were featured in salad and entree.

Nothing short of fantastic service from beginning to end. We were a party of four who enjoyed great cocktails, beautiful salads and creative mains. We were also happy to see a wine list that catered to all budgets and tastes.

Black Cat is my favorite restaurant in the WORLD! I absolutely love this place. The prix fixe with wine pairings is exquisite. The place manages to offer unbelievable food unpretentiously. Try for yourself!

One of the most amazing tasting menus we have Ever eaten! We have had many tasting menus from Michelin star restaurants and Black Cat is up at the top. Their own farm, sustainable, local, spectacularly delicious food. The service was wonderful and the wine pairing was great. The wine, to me, was a little on the sweet side in the selections, but that is my only complaint. We had a party of six and every single one of us is still talking about the experience. Amazing!

The food presentation is top notch, the ingredients are natural and come directly from the family-owned farm in Boulder. The staff is polite and professional. Eric, the owner, is just amazing. Passionate about his work, he devotes time to all his clients to explain the plates and the process that brought the food from his farm to the table. Farmer, head-chef, waiter he summarizes the spirit of the Black Cat experience.

Six friends got together to celebrate a birthday and we had an amazing time at BlackCat. It’s my favorite fine dining experience in and outside of Boulder. The food is original and creative. We all had the tasting menu which is a must do! It’s a journey of flavor and texture matched with the perfect wine. The staff is Incredible and it doesn’t matter if it’s the person serving water, the waitperson or the somalier- the way they care and their timing is as high quality as the food. Can’t wait to go back again.

Absolutely delicious food, perfectly prepared! The Beet Crepe is an amazing vegetarian choice! Bison Duo had my husband raving about it all evening. Highly recomend it.

Black Cat is where we go when we want to have a special dinner where the environment is quiet, the service is exception and the food and wine are world class. It is by far the best restaurant we have gone to in the Boulder area.

Chef's tasting with wine pairing was Fantastic. An exquisite treat. Highly recommend for special occasions or just to spoil someone. Plan on at least a couple hours of culinary pampering.

Our server, Sarah, treated my friend and I like royalty on her birthday. Every consideration was given to each of our dietary restrictions by the chefs who created unique gourmet dishes (without the pork or shellfish for one of us and without gluten and dairy for the other) that deeply satisfied our palates. We never felt rushed allowing us to luxuriate in each of the 7 courses of the tasting menu. An added plus was being able to hear each other speak in the quiet cozy setting!

Loved the Black Cat! The service was amazing- they were very enthusiastic in their descriptions of the dishes and the wine. We enjoyed the tasting menu and could not have been happier. Everything was fresh and farm to table. If you are in Boulder - it is a must try.

This was not my first time there. For years I have been going back to this place because it is first rate in every way. My fiancé and I went there for my birthday. Asked to be reseated to a quiet corner and the host was most obliging. 1/2 a glass of complimentary sparkling wine started us off....Of all the charcuterie boards I've ever had, this was THE BEST. All from their farm except the figs and olives; so varied, large, delicious and well put together. I ordered the lamb shank which was done to perfection with vegetables from their farm seasoned with a coconut curry sauce...Very tasty. I am gluten free and they provided some nice substitutes. He had the duo of bison and very much enjoyed it. The creme brûlée plus pistachio shortbread for desert was served on a plate with "happy birthday "written in dark chocolate plus a candle. A beautiful touch and the desert was not overly sweet, which we appreciated.

I got caught in the area after a business trip when the “Bomb Cyclone” hit. After touring museums in Denver, I looked for a really wonderful dinner, found Black Cat Bistro and decided to see what fine Boulder dining looked like.

I have eaten in 2 and 3 star Michelin restaurants - in Manhattan, LA, and Joel Robuchon in Vegas. I would out Black Cat on par with many two star restaurants.

I did not go with the tasting menu - a three hour dinner dining alone doesn’t appeal. I started with the foie gras, a treat I cannot enjoy in California. It’s one of the best dishes I’ve had in a very long time, truly sublime, silky, and the contrasting sweet and savory flavors teased and tickled the palate. I found the pork incredibly flavorful and moist. I asked for the mole on the side and found I enjoyed the flavors more without the sauce. I was delighted to find my favorite varietal on their wines by the glass list and savored my Vouvray.

The room is cozy, charming and evokes the wild west. My waiter was very professional and too care of me.
