Upon arrival at the farm, you'll be greeted with hors d’oeuvres and aperitif at our historic farmstead. Before dinner, guests may explore the restored, historic farm buildings, grain mill, and working organic farm or find a private spot to relax.
For added safety, you will have private, well-distanced tables on the patio and gardens with limited service. The farm hosts two through eight friends or family per table. You will enjoy three courses based on the day's harvest. Tomatoes still warm from the sun, tender-crisp lettuces, and heritage pork or lamb roasted over plum wood embers are some of the flavors that await. Wines from our award-winning list, as well as craft beer selections, are available by pre-order delivery. Following the meal, take in the breathtaking mountain views while they enjoy dessert and a stroll under the stars or by the nightly bonfire.

Biodynamic & Organic Wine
We are a farm-oriented restaurant. How could we not support these farm-oriented wines? This does not refer to wines with 'farmy' or 'barnyard' tastes, but rather to wines that are made by people who are as careful with the roots of their vines, and the soil they feed from, as they are with the fruit they eventually give us. 'Organic' wine means the grapes have not been treated with anything synthetic: no fertilizers, no pesticides, no herbicides or anything made in a lab. Pests and diseases are dealt with naturally by introducing cover crops, and predators will pick off unwanted bugs and harmful insects. 'Biodynamic' winemaking treats an entire farm as a single living organism. Its goal is to actually improve the health of the land and ecosystem through farming. No chemicals are used at any point, and herbal preparations are used as treatments for the soil. Every important event in the farm's life is scheduled on a biodynamic calendar based on phases of the moon in order to fit in with the land's life cycle. Biodynamics results in healthy vines with deeper rootstocks which produce uncommonly expressive grapes with a surprising depth and purity of flavor. What is Terroir?
The concept of 'terroir' in wine is widely misunderstood. Put in the simplest way, terroir is every natural factor that makes a certain wine taste a certain way. The vineyard's climate, soil type, aspect and surrounding natural features all play a role in the wine's final taste and help make that wine special. The concept dates back nearly 1,000 years, when Benedictine and later Cistercian monks noticed that wines from the same grape tasted differently depending on where the grapes were grown. As a result, they began to catalog which grapes did best and where - eventually giving rise to Burgundy's Grand Cru system. And really, that sense of place in a wine is truly what makes us fall in love all over again. We drink wine to celebrate its differences. The steely, mineral-driven Chardonnay of Chablis; the earthy, barnyard richness of Rioja; the tar and roses of aged Nebbiolo. Each unique sip takes us on a journey to where in the world it was created — and back in time to the last evening we had the same wine with friends. Over-oaked, over-extracted fruit bombs do very little for us, because that wine could have been made by anyone and just about anywhere. But wines that really show their terroir - that transport you to one special place on the globe with unrepeatable, unforgettable flavors - well, that's why we drink wine in the first place. Andre Tchelistcheff famously said, 'God made Cabernet, whereas the Devil made Pinot Noir,' and truer wine words were never spoken. There's no wine region in the world more maddening, beautiful, expensive, fickle or jaw-droppingly delicious than the Cote d'Or. With nearly 2,000 years of wine-growing history, the 'Golden Slope' produces bottles of Pinot Noir that exhibit aromas of sweet red cherry, button mushroom, pencil lead and plenty more.

Spain approaches wine law differently, focusing on the calendar instead of the dirt. While only perfectly ideal locations in France can grow 'Grand Cru' grapes, Spain produces 'Gran Reserva' only if the wine ages long enough in oak. Emphasizing aging showcases Tempranillo's ability to age beautifully, and means you can pick up incredibly well-aged, complex, food-friendly wine for a song. A little more hedonistic in style, New World Pinot almost always shows soft flavors of sweet red cherry, raspberry and ripe strawberry with smooth tannins and fragrant floral notes. Our heart will always belong to Burgundy, but these plush, drinkable examples of Pinot from California and Oregon can sure make us forget about France for a night

Black Cat has done an amazing job moving their operation out to their farm in Longmont during 2020. The experience is a lot of fun - top notch service, decor and food, in the middle of an actual working farm that sources a substantial portion of the food you're eating. It's really a unique and charming experience. Wanted to mention a bit about the seating arrangements. The website makes it sounds like all the tables are outside, and before we went I was a bit concerned about how this would work, given lowering temperatures as we get into fall, and wind. But nothing to worry about. They have constructed a number of cozy glass and canvas-sided "cabanas", complete with stoves for heat, plus they also accommodate about four tables inside the barn, which is also really nicely done, so nobody is out in the cold unless they want to be. They said that they'll keep things running as long as they can into winter, but book soon if you don't want to miss out!
Always the ultimate in farm-to-table. Awesome newly constructed outdoor shelters with wood stoves and gas heaters for each party in conformance with COVID norms. Beautiful farm setting and very attentive wait staff. Our favorite Boulder restaurant!
Don't tell anyone how great this is, but this was GREAT. I walked away telling my husband and friends that it may be the best thing we've done in CO. The ambiance was incomparable and our server, Izzy, was the sweetest. Obviously all of the food was very fresh and there was about 5x what my stomach could handle which made taking home leftovers in boxes an ongoing treat.
Very fun to see the farm and have our own little cabana. No choice of menu which we knew. Good apps, great salad and bread. The main entree was lamb served over mashed potatoes and greens with a gravy, and served family style in a crock. The lamb had good flavor but was very fatty and some pieces really hard to cut. Not enough potatoes for five of us. But we left lamb due to the poor quality. Other veges also were served and dessert. Staff were friendly and helpful but service very slow. We were there about 4 hrs! For 80pp it was just a disappointment that the main was not up to par for the price of $400 for 5 guests. Wine $50-60 per bottle. Hope that their pork entrees would be more successful as we liked the overall experience. Also never acknowledged a birthday in the group although we were asked when making the reservation if this was for special occasion. Too bad.
A magical night! The warmest of welcomes, the most spectacular of sunsets. I love the staff at the farm. Our meal was delicious. This was our second dinner this summer--hoping for another before winter sets in.
We went for our anniversary. We had our own cabana for privacy but it had windows and a wide opening. The service was very accommodating. The food delicious and plentiful. They were happy to substitute for dietary needs. A very friendly dog came by to say hello and a boisterous but also friendly goose did as well. It made for a special dinner. Recommend!!!

I love what they are working to accomplish out on the farm. Far away from the noise of the city, the unhurried ambience and relaxing atmosphere is perfect. The food was fantastic as well. We appreciated the stories where the various ingredients were from around the farm.
Amazing ambience in a natural setting! Staff was very personable. And very appreciative that chefs were able to work around a couple of us that had dietary restrictions. Hope they can stay open all winter long as we’ll be back!
Been to the farm to table twice. Both times were amazing! The table set up, views, service and food are outstanding! We'll continue to male reservations and keep going as long as they continue doing them.
