The Sunday champagne brunch at Black Bass Hotel never fails to disappoint. The river-front view is beautiful. The food is fantastic and service is great. They never let your unlimited champagne glass go empty for longer than 2 minutes. When weather permits, there is comfortable outdoor seating with quaint fleecy plaid throws for your lap/shoulders in case it gets chilly.
The value of the Sunday brunch remains outstanding. Get the petite filet. Shrimp and grits is another fine choice. Decor is classic. So much history.
Great place. Beautiful scenery. Grilled octopus appetizer was one of the top 3 things I've ever eaten in my life. Downstairs bar great feeling and ambiance.
Black Bass is our go-to restaurant for special occasions. In an 18th-century Bucks County Inn, hovering on the banks of the PA canal, with a great view of (and easy access to) the famous footbridge connecting NJ and PA across the fast-flowing Delaware River, the main dining room is wonderful in any season. (Be sure to reserve a table, however, and request a window seat.) In the cosy bar, don't miss the extensive collection of museum-quality British china pieces celebrating various Royal events. (This fits with the Hotel's history, since its 18th-century owners were Loyalists in a hotbed of Revolutionary activity.
The restaurant consistently offers an eclectic, innovative menu, and excellent service from a mature staff that does not show a lot of turnover. What's not to love?
This is a very nice restaurant with excellent food and ambiance. Unfortunately, our server was barely satisfactory and definitely unsatisfactory for a resautrant at this level.
The blackbass is an upscale restaurant in the Delaware river located next to a beautiful foot bridge that crosses into a park in new jersey. Great spot for views and pictures. Romantic 5 star dining in a historic 1765 building. Great for all occasions. Has an outside patio for spring, summer and fall dining. Would recommend giving it a try.
Would get an 11/10 if possible. Food was superb, service was perfect (Becky) and the whole ambience was just what we needed! Will never not recommend this little gem in Lumberville, PA!
Beautifully redone since we were last there over 10 years ago. We were really impressed with the great river views and outside deck but our waitress, Jill, was outstanding. She was very attentive to my wife's special dietary needs and was anxious and effective in making sure we were happy with our food.
We look forward to coming back with some friends.
We did not expect brunch to last until mid-afternoon and wished we had known that so that we could have picked another restaurant. Eating eggs at 2 p.m. isn't what we wanted for Easter.
It could not have been clear on the website because I missed seeing that and we come fairly often.
It was just okay. It's a good thing we know what the restaurant is like on a regular evening or we wouldn't go back.
Great food. Good choice for a birthday celebration
The food, view of the river, overall atmosphere and ambiance were all really good. Nice wine list as well. Their proprietary Black Bass Cab was surprisingly very good as well.
Only beef is that it took them a good 20 minutes for a sever to acknowledge we were even sitting there and that only happened because we finally had to ask one of the busboy kids to get us a server. From there it was pretty smooth. Kind of like having a car that won’t start in the middle of a busy road that everyone ignores until you ask for help.

The staff was professional, attentive and friendly. The restaurant was very clean. The courses arrived in a timely manner. The food was very good. Beautiful views of the Delaware River. Looking forward to restaurant week again!
Went for special 4-course menu during Restaurant Week. Lots of choices for each course, and we enjoyed everything we chose. We've eaten here several times and after each dinner wonder why we don't come back more frequently. We will aspire to going forward.
One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time and because it was restaurant week it was quite a bargain. Each of the four courses was amazing as was the service. Perfect.
This was restaurant week. Four main courses, two were excellent two were disappointing. No dressings on two salads. Olive oil cake was over cooked and whipped cream almost nonexistent.
One table of 6 was so loud they took over the entire room.
Excellent as always. Drinks are pricey. Fish was excellent. Valet parking convenient. Crispy squid delicious and cooked perfectly.
We came here for the first night of Restaurant week and had a 7:15 reservation. We were not seated until 8:15. Totally unacceptable! Then we proceeded to order the 4 course special and waited extremely long between courses. At the end we were told that the deserts we chose were sold out, even though we ordered them hours ago! The food was tasty, but the wait was inexcusable, the service was very poor. Overall, we left the restaurant 4 hours after we came, which wasn't the plan for a Sunday night.
This visit was my first, I discovered them through restaurant week. The food and ambiance were great. Service was bad but they were slammed by so many extra diners. I will be back. The crab cake is a must!

We prefer a more quite atmosphere. Very loud in dining room. We prefer dining at the Bass in warmer weather dining outside.
The servers did an amazing job in their efforts to provide service in a timely manner during Restaurant Week. Additional servers would have been helpful. I was quite impressed with Mary Ali our server. She apologized for the slow service and appreciated our understanding. She maintained a pleasant disposition during our dinner. Dinner as usual was exceptional.
Always have a very enjoyable time at Black Bass. A lot of unusual bustling and long waits between courses due to the first night of Restaurant Week, but meal was still outstanding.
Restaurant Week - While food was very good, portions were a lot smaller and thrown in a bowl except for the crab. No fun having all your items mixing together in a bowl.
This was a birthday dinner for my wife. The setting was perfect. Still day light. Beautiful view of the River. We were off down at one end of the main dining area, so away from other diners for good part of our meal. Easy to have a conversation. The food was enjoyable and the service was fine. Overall good experience.
The Black Bass Hotel was a great experience from the room to the dinner. The service was great and it was a very relaxing experience.
Wr went to celebrate my wife's birthday as The Black Bass is her favorite place for brunch. Their Champagne Brunch continues to be the best around and well worth the $ and drive!

I heard good things about the Black Bass from a friend, and it was as nice as it was described to me. Really good food, beautifully decorated restaurant, immaculate, very happy, pleasant employees. A little pricey but that’s to be expected at a fine establishment. You get what you pay for, and we did, worth every penny.
I love carrotts and green beans especially when cooked to perfection (not over cooked)... unfortunately these vegetables were completely raw. I could not even get my steak knife through them. Very disappointing for price of food.

Stayed at Black Bass Inn for our anniversary. Enjoyed ourselves wonderfully. Quaint, cozy, friendly, lovely fireplace, authentic, a must stay.
came there to celebrate husbands 70th birthday.Ambiece great-service great-But my filet was overcooked. asked for med and no pink at all. the one piece was not trimmed correctly . Taste was good.One piece great-one not. eggs were on same plate so had sauce under it .Dessert was delicious.Being retired and on limited income-to spend 80.00 for breakfast was ok if all would have been good. I still would recommend to people. One bad item happens somtimes.
Not as good as usual. The lobster and seafood risotto was disappointing. We were presented with the seafood on one side of the plate and a tasteless glob of separately cooked risotto on the side....there was no infusion of flavor in the risotto and no lobster reduction was used in its preparation.
Rather annoyed because we telephoned two weeks in advance for a window table and told the restaurant was full booked. Went on OpenTable the day before and almost every time slot was open. Despite it being my birthday and that we are regulars, they would not give us a window table.
We went to Black Bass to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. He ordered the most expensive thing on the menu, the lobster risotto, and a "basshattan" drink. I ordered the fillet. Our waitress was very pleasant and knowledgeable about the menu. My boyfriend felt the risotto on its own was not all that flavorful, but when he mixed everything on his plate together it was good. He concluded that it was good, but not as good as he had hoped for the price. We have had similar dishes at other restaurants that were not nearly as expensive and may have had more flavor. My fillet and the side of mashed potatoes were tasty. The nicest thing about this place is the atmosphere. The historic building on the river with large windows looking out is really beautiful.
First time we have been there and are already planning when we can return!
The appetizers were fantastic, but the size of the entrees were a joke. I ordered the crab cake and it was for a child. The rice portion was larger than the crab cake. My husband order the crab imperial and the portion had too much sauce and not enough crab. For what you were charging, you should know that the protein portion was inadequate. My husband and I eat out a lot and we have not experienced that such small portions and imbalance. Also, my husband ordered a second glass of iced tea and we were charged for the second glass. Again, for what you are charging, it is ungracious for you to hit him up twice for something that was probably in a pitcher.
Our experience was a mixed bag. Food was good, but the inconsistency was disturbing. I am not rushing back!
Beautiful view, welcoming staff, food is consistently good. This is a great place for lunch or dinner with a nice wine list......
