The food was wonderful, the service exceptional and friendly. Great view of Delaware River and some quirky paintings on the vestibule walls.
Very good service and the view of the river can’t be beat
We were celebrating Father's Day for hubby and my birthday smand we knew it would be special here. I have to say that it was more than that - the food, ambience, service - all were wonderful. Our evening was perfect. Can't wait to return. Thank you
Lovely location for an anniversary dinner. Good food; good wine; good company. We'll be back
Food was creative and delicious, every bite. A little pricey but worth it!
What an amazing experience as per usual! Everything was just perfect...the setting, the food, drinks & service. Thank you to our server Liz for making my husbands birthday even more special. Can’t forget Sue...always a pleasure running into you & will see you in three weeks for brunch with my mom.
Beautiful dining room overlooking the Delaware river. Booked lunch early as the dining room can get noisy as it fills up. Waitstaff treats my elderly parents very well. Salads are great. Tried crab and lobster appetizer with the salad and will do that again. Wine list is small but diverse. Love the rose brut from Italy. Always a good time.
Awesome food and service. Sat outside for dinner. Beautiful sunset!!!
We dined at the Black Bass to celebrate our daughter’s graduation from high school. We sat outside and it was a beautiful night to be on the Delaware. All of our meals were delicious . It was a busy night and things were a little slow and there were two mistakes (the wrong drink was brought- not a big deal- and our dessert if creme brûlée arrived without the burnt sugar- kind of important). The sever was kind and apologetic so we really didn’t mind. We’d definitely go back!
Wonderful graduation dinner on a beautiful night on the river at The Black Bass Hotel! Would definitely eat the Scallops over risotto and Hanger Steak and signature Crab au gratin dinners again. There was a large rehearsal dinner or something so service was a bit slower than usual but we thoroughly enjoyed our evening and the desserts are worth saving room for especially homemade ice cream.
Took a casual drive through the countryside and went to the Black Bass Inn for a late lunch. It was a very nice day, and we sat on the deck. The drinks and food were great, as was the service. The facility, despite it's age, is very well maintained. We have been there before and find it consistently top notch.
Beautiful spot along the river with excellent food. The service, while very friendly, does not meet the same level as the food and ambiance.
An excellent experience -- again! -- from arrival to departure.
Excellent service from a warm and friendly staff. Great food, beautiful setting. Highly recommend.
We had a wonderful anniversary dinner at the Black Bass Hotel; my husband had the tilefish, which he said was delicious; I had the crab au gratin - really fabulous and not too filling. Service was friendly and attentive. All the diners seemed energetic and happy - we sat next to another couple also celebrating their anniversary. We ate every last bit of the chocolate mousse dessert which we shared. Definitely returning to Black Bass with friends next time! Loved every minute!
food was good but it was very expensive...just not for a night out...more for a party (along those lines)
Second time treating a friend & they just loved everything about the Black Bass - thank you!!!!!!!
It took 10 minutes for our server to greet us. She then took our drink orders after I had to ask for a wine/beer list. We had 4 kids with us to celebrate a birthday and upon taking our drink orders wanted to know if we were ready to order. The kids menu is not even listed on the menu...
It gets worse. My husband ordered soup with his meal and didn't get it. It took 15 more minutes for us to get bread at our table and she didn't check back to see if the food was good or if we needed anything. The food was good and the atmosphere is great being we sat outside and kids enjoyed the view of the river but it's definitely unfortunate that the service is not up to the standard it should.
Black Bass: PLEASE GET BETTER SERVERS WHO CARE ABOUT THE PATRONS AND OUR RETURN!!!
Terrific food overall. We stayed at the hotel and were able to buy a bottle of wine and take it up to our balcony after dinner. Setting on the river is beautiful. It is a very expensive dinner but due a special occasion, was great!
Waitress was very nice, food was great as always, but hostesses were snarky and rude.
We try to go every chance we get. This time we met friends there who had never been. The food and the setting were lovely. We were able to have a nice conversation over a delicious meal.
Excellent food and great service.
Great atmosphere. Great view. Excellent food. Wonderful service. Always enjoy the experience here.
Have been here before and will be there again. A relaxed but upscale atmosphere. Food is always well prepared. My wife said her scallops over risotto was the best she ever had. My rack of lamb was prepared exactly as ordered and the sauce ladled over it was 'don't leave a drop on the plate' good.
Brunch was excellent with plenty of choices. Only problem was noise level so high we could barely carry on a civil conversation without yelling as well. Price a little high but you get more than you can eat and food was excellent. All courses.
Highly recommend if you can put up with the noise.
Overall, the food at the Black Bass is average - the type of food that you can eat at any restaurant. For some reason we were expecting our meals to be better, to have some "flair", a slightly different twist. We left unimpressed. The view looking out over the river is very nice but the reason to eat out is to get a good meal and our three lunches did not rise above. For the same or less $$ we can go to just about any other average restaurant and get the same meal. Thus, the only compelling reason to make the drive to the Black Bass is the view overlooking the river. From a business perspective, our sense was that this was the sole draw to the restaurant - the view. Focus on the view, get people in, and then serve an average meal. As a result of our lunch, we would not not go back at some future date and try dinner.
Lovely old building with a great view. Good service and pretty good and fresh food.
The Black Bass Restaurant is one of our favorites. Their specialty crab dish is nothing but lump crab meat in a creamy sauce and is absolutely delicious. Love their garden mojitos. The service is outstanding. The Black Bass will continue to be our very favorite restaurant.
The atmosphere and view beautiful. The service very pleasant, efficient and well informed. Thank you Casey. The food...We orderd the Shrimp app and Lobster & Crabmeat Upside Down Martini, $16 and 18 respectively, fairly unremarkable. Shrimp were small and the Martini not impressive at all. For entrees we had the Charleston Crab, Tile Fish and Salmon. The portions for the Crab and Tile Fish were ridiculously small. The Tile Fish was tasteless. The Salmon was probably the best of the three but no raves there either. For dessert we had the Blueberry Cobbler with Cinnamon ice cream, not bad, but nothing special. The Carrot Cake and Lemon Cake were excellent. We had been there to celebrate a birthday which was probably the best part of the evening. Our waitress brought a lovely little box of candy and a card from the Black Bass. Nice touch. Have been to this restaurant many times for lunch, brunch and dinner, but disappointed this time. We are not big eaters but found ourselves hungry by the time we arrived home after an hours drive. Not what you would expect after spending $300.00.
We are never disappointed when dining at The Black Bass. It is reliably excellent. Lunch, dinner, brunch are all worth the drive.
Susan was great
Consistently wonderful! Beautiful evening dinner with friends overlooking the Delaware. Food was excellent - all enjoyed the entrees. Sea scallops with risotto were wonderful. Highly recommended!
The ambiance, the food, the location, all first rate. It did take a little while to get started, but then we were all good. Always a great experience..
Our meal was excellent and we enjoyed the view from the deck. Only disappointment was the fact that I told the restaurant in open-table that we were celebrating our anniversary and it would have been nice if they acknowledged our special event. (just say "happy anniversary")
We just celebrated our 45th wedding anniversary at our favorite restaurant the Black Bass Hotel. We have been coming here since 1975 and have never been disappointed. Everything is great the food, the service, the atmosphere.
Can't speak highly enough about this place. If you haven't been there yet ..go you will love it...
5 stars isn't enough I give it 10 stars....
We had cousins visiting from Texas --wanted to show them Bucks County ...this was the perfect spot for lunch! Great food, view, and service! Loved everything about it!!
We were here before for a brunch and we enjoyed it. Now, for a mother's day dinner, we were seated in front of the door entrance and we felt the cold wind every time the door was open, we asked to be moved and we were simply ignored. The food was OK but not impressive and felt absolutely overpriced. The only strong point was our waitress, she was really nice
My husband took me to the Black Bass for Mother's Day dinner...another fantastic meal!
Started off with the cream of mushroom and cream of Cauliflour soups followed by the
seared asparagus with tasso ham. Absolutely delicious! My husband had the tile fish and
I had the salmon special topped with crabmeat. We are local from New Hope and this is our
favorite place to go. Not only for the food but the great service and ambiance! Had a very enjoyable night out!
Disappointing. Loud, hectic and service was sub standard.
