Black Bass Hotel Ratings and Reviews
The Black Bass was a wonderful spot to celebrate a special birthday. A Very nice wine and beer list and beautiful river front views. The town of Lumberville is a quaint place to visit on the Pennsylvania side of the Delaware River. River views and great food with attentive service are only a few highlights of a memorable visit. I would highly recommend The Black Bass Restaurant.
Celebrated a birthday recently. The river side view was so relaxing. Had the crabcake entree that was moist and mostly crab in a tasty sauce. Jill, our server was the best, both friendly and attentive. The Black Bass Hotel is one of our favorite restaurants. Highly recommend this restaurant for lunch, dinner or any special occasion.
We haven’t been here for at least 15 years. The food was fantastic, our server was very personable and atmosphere was great. We were seated next to a private room where a party was happenitn, so it did get a bit loud, but overall this was a great visit and we will be back!
We did not have a lot of time but our waitress who was very nice and friendly, served us quickly. We each had a salad, one pear and the other the baby spinach salad. Although both were delicious, they were on the small side for entrees salads.
The ambience is so lovely for lunch by the river on a sunny day!
Have been coming to the Black Bass since the ear 80's. The renovations were beautifully and very thoughtfully done. The inn has kept its elegant, historical and intimate ambience with modern conveniences. It is in a spectacular setting on the Delaware River.
1st time was awesome 2nd time a disaster...not consistent!
You can't beat the view, interior and atmosphere of this restaurant; then comes the mouthpiece (waitress). 1st time, very pleasant, knowledgeable and attentive, 2nd time, different waitress, very rude and inattentive.
The food had to be good or we wouldn't be there a second time, right? With dinner entrees $30-40, one would expect the food to be consistent; not the case.
Ordered the special, flounder stuffed with crab; no indication that either came out of the ocean, tasteless and not seasoned but the flower peddles sure were a nice touch. Same for the second dish, not seasoned properly and the reduction did little to help the taste.
Dare the trifecta.....don't think so!
First time visitors, restaurant was fantastic. Beautiful setting on the Delaware River. Nicely varied menu, with yummy apps like bacon wrapped, horseradish stuffed shrimp. Had lunch, and got the pastrami seasoned salmon sandwich, quite nice. The dinner menu had much more offerings than lunch, will go back to try other things...
A wonderful experience. Price fixed lunch including ample champaign, this time Shirley was our server for the second time of the four times we gone for Sunday brunch. She, like the other servers take good care of their customers. Portions are amply sized including the deserts. Everything is high quality and the menu is varied to suit anyone's taste.
I went to the Bass Hotel for the first time a few weeks ago and it was absolutely beautiful! The view is gorgeous with big picture windows and the food was delicious. This place was very charming. Free valet is available across the street so easy access. I highly recommend this place!
We have dined here quite often staff should be more inviting and accommodating.
I realize they can not guarantee a window seat but we did request a week in advance and it was a Thursday evening we were dining with them for a birthday celebration and was not accommodated with one.
They should take into consideration distance of travel as well , we visit from Long Island New York to dine at this establishment each year at this time.
This was the second time my wife and I have dined here and it was our first brunch. Loved the historical building, two bars and dining room overlooking the Delaware. By chance we had the same waitress, Laurna, who was outstanding. Timed each course perfectly. It can be a little noisy and not good for intimate conversation, but the people watching is good. The food was better than good. Be sure to make a reservation for brunch. Overall I loved it and will return.
Went for a celebration dinner for two. The service was gracious and professional. All of the food was delicious, filet was cooked a bit now than requested but still delicious. We asked to enjoy dessert outside by the fire pit and they were happy to accommodate! It was wonderful and highly recommend.
My lobster dish was very good. However, my wife is a vegitarian and the options were VERY limited. We checked the menu on-line prior to making reservation and there was a squash ravioli dish on the menu. When we arrived the waitress told us the menu changed 3 weeks ago for the Fall menu. I asked about the ravioli and told it was not an option. If the menu changed 3 weeks ago- seems like PLENTY of time to update the website!?
They did give us a nice card and small box of chocolates becuase it was our anniversary. That was a nice touch.
have been coming for forty years.........place has improved over the years............love the ambiance.......................prices a bit steep.......................here is our first complaint in years..........mashed potatoes tasted like instant.............either they are or chef has to change ingredients in making them........................
