Location is really beautiful. If you go make sure reservation for window seat. Afternoon probably better than evening for view. Menu changes with seasons and is interesting. Drinks were very good. The biscuits you get with meal are horrible. Read this in a review and was true.
Service was wonderful!!! Everyone was really nice
Beautiful view and the food was great, going back for my sisters Birthday. Worth the drive.
the campaign brunch was just wonderful. Fixed menu courses came at a leisurely pace, with enough time to digest while viewing the Delaware River. We will be back! thanks.
We loved our Sunday brunch celebrating my Fiancé’s birthday. They even put a candle in his dessert! Our waitress Jill was fantastic. I bought two gift cards that day as Christmas gifts, highly recommended.
Service was excellent, view of the Delaware river is very scenic.
The Restaurant is Beautiful, and the good was Delicious! I don’t recommend making your reservation on Open Table. I booked my reservation on Open Table a month prior, and was not given the table I requested for our Special Anniversary. I was told by a Very Unpleasant Hostess that your table is assigned when you book it through Open Table. Basically you get what you get. Luckily the other hostess was very friendly and found us another table.
went to the Black Bass for our anniversary dinner. The restaurant was crowded, but manageable, but there was a wedding reception on a floor below us with a live band. noise level was high. Food, service and ambiance were excellent. Noise level did deter from an otherwise great night
Located in the scenic town of Lumberville on the banks of the Delaware River, this lovely, old restaurant' menu is up to date with current trends as well as old favorites. The food is quite good and the view of the river is lovely. A good spot for meeting friends and family for a relaxing, quiet dining experience. After lunch we often walk across the river on the nearby foot bridge.
One of my favorite places with a lovely view of the scenic Delaware River, wonderful food and service.
I've been there many times and will continue to go back, but the waitress who took care of us today was not very good. She seemed clueless and confused. We finally resorted to asking a person we assumed to be the manager to deal with the check and payment so we could leave. Unusual experience.
Excellent food and great service and the view is phenomenal
We were here for a birthday celebration on a Monday night. Lovely ambiance, great food. .
Tricky drive along River Road. Will be back
Food was good, ambience and view were beautiful. Only disappointment was that I had indicated on our reservation that we were celebrating our 12th anniversary. I had hoped they would offer a dessert or seat us by the window but they didn’t do anything special for us. Also, restaurant is pretty pricey. We were glad we tried it and would recommend it for a treat, but we don’t feel the need to go back.
This has become one of our favorite places to eat.
Please put the pork shank on menu. Or simply serve more often under specials. Outstanding presentation and amazing to eat. My husband said the best he ever had.
Also a fan of the pasta with fish sauce.
We will be back.
We were directed to our table upon arrival. Our waitress was efficient and we placed our order. She apologized that it took a while to get our food as the kitchen was very busy. My steak was ordered medium rare and received well done, the waitress quickly served a replacement done to my wishes. The view was spectacular of the Delaware River. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal.
Have been going to Black Bass for over
30 years and as always food, service,
ambiance is always consistently excellent.
My pork chops were not tender. Unable to cut with the knife I was given. The other people with me were very satisfied with their meal. The wait staff was excellent
I could not pronounce half of the menu, and it was not awesome, It was good, not very good for the price.
Food was very good. Wine was disappointing. Great table with a good view of the river.
The restaurant is on the Delaware River with a lovely view. The food is fine dining and the atmosphere is very nice. Service is great!
Delicious food in a historic and scenic setting - excellent attentive service
We celebrated our 45th anniversary, we had a lovely time!!!
My friend and I ordered cheeseburgers, which I had really enjoyed just two weeks prior. Today, both burgers were over cooked, and the brioche buns were strangely flattened, like they had been pressed. Our server never offered to refill our iced tea, and a large horsefly pestered us the entire time. But...the room and the view are beautiful, and the chairs are very comfortable. I love the Black Bass and I’m hoping today’s mediocre experience was just a fluke.
One of my favorite restaurants for over 20 years. Never disappointed. ( except when I can't get a reservation )
This is my very favorite restaurant. The food is outstanding and the menu changes with the seasons. To me it's a local place that oozes romance and charm.
For those who don’t live nearby, brunch at the Black Bass Inn is a great way to enjoy not only very good food, but also a chance to spend time in this historic inn on the Delaware River. We have made The Black Bass one of our favorite destinations for many years, and we’ve never been disappointed!
Sunday Brunch. Wide variety of choices. Everyone commented that their selection was excellent. The server was relaxed and exceptionally attentive. Nothing but 5 stars all around. The local area is also lovely for a stroll before or after a fine meal.
Perfection... and a great value for brunch
View was to die for
Nothing but the best
Kate was awesome! we had a great experience for my Husbands birthday! Thank you
A unique restaurant with exceptional food and great atmosphere.
Very nice view and the food was really good. The service was top notch.
Was worth the hour drive. We also visited the New Hope area during this trip.
Excellent menu, and service by all Black Bass staff. Keep up the outstanding job!!
Our waitress, Kate added to the excellence of the meal. She was patient with our many questions and guided us to the best choices. I had black bean soup and citrus salad, great together. The charming biscuits add a nice note.
I put in the notes that it was an anniversary celebration and requested a table by the window. We arrived exactly on time but the hostess did not even acknowledge the anniversary nor the request until I asked about it. Then, she was entirely dismissive of the request, and frankly dismissive of our party. Her only comment was “we don’t guarantee requests”. Well, that’s why it is called a “request” and not a guarantee. Nevertheless, a little courtesy for your guests should be in order - such as “I am sorry we cannot accommodate your request this evening but I hope you have a lovely anniversary”. If I wanted to be treated dismissively, I could go to a diner.
The waitress was very nice (although also did not acknowledge the anniversary) but she was spread over way too many tables. We waited 20 min before we were even asked for a drink order. As the place cleared out, we got more attention.
In sum, while the food was excellent, the service was far from acceptable.
Food was good. It appeared that the staff was spread thin due to a party on the lower level. Felt like I was dining at Outback with food wait staff rushing around and food being served by runners.
Lobster risotto was bland, nothing special, market price was very expensive. Service was friendly but inattentive.
This was our first visit to the Black Bass for Sunday Brunch and it was wonderful! The location was beautiful with lovely river side seating. The brunch is prix fixe and it very reasonable for the quality and service - and the unending champagne!
We can now add the Sunday Champagne Brunch to our favorites.
I really didn't know what to expect, but I loved everything about this restaurant.
Our table looked out on to the water.
We all felt very lucky to have such a sweet and competent waitress. Our prix fix brunch menu had so many delicious choices.
I would certainly recommend this restaurant.
Two of us had the sword fish it was pretty good. Wish they added something else to that dish My wife had the duck that was great. We have been here a few times. We had a good time out together.
