Have always had a great experience at the Black Bass including the food and service this time. My only disappoint was their not acknowledging my reservation being for our 50th wedding anniversary. Why bother asking if it's a special occocstion.

Food, as always, was excellent, and the restaurant is a showplace overlooking the river. Service was attentive, friendly, but not obnoxious. Prices are on the high side, but the experience was excellent.

A wonderful experience. Price fixed lunch including ample champaign, this time Shirley was our server for the second time of the four times we gone for Sunday brunch. She, like the other servers take good care of their customers. Portions are amply sized including the deserts. Everything is high quality and the menu is varied to suit anyone's taste.

Black Bass never disappoints us. It is consistently excellent: great food, wonderful view, and thoughtful service. We drive about 45 minutes to get there, but it is worth it, and the scenery on the drive is lovely, too.

A lovely venue. Historic, romantic, scenic. Very good service, and nice food. Really enjoyed our Anniversary evening. Not so formal that you need to save it for "special events". If we lived closer, we would go more regularly.

We have dined here quite often staff should be more inviting and accommodating.
I realize they can not guarantee a window seat but we did request a week in advance and it was a Thursday evening we were dining with them for a birthday celebration and was not accommodated with one.

They should take into consideration distance of travel as well , we visit from Long Island New York to dine at this establishment each year at this time.

Excellent service and delicious food as usual. The only thing the Black Bass needs is more variety in its menu selections. The same entrees are offered over and over again.

This was the second time my wife and I have dined here and it was our first brunch. Loved the historical building, two bars and dining room overlooking the Delaware. By chance we had the same waitress, Laurna, who was outstanding. Timed each course perfectly. It can be a little noisy and not good for intimate conversation, but the people watching is good. The food was better than good. Be sure to make a reservation for brunch. Overall I loved it and will return.

Went for a celebration dinner for two. The service was gracious and professional. All of the food was delicious, filet was cooked a bit now than requested but still delicious. We asked to enjoy dessert outside by the fire pit and they were happy to accommodate! It was wonderful and highly recommend.

My lobster dish was very good. However, my wife is a vegitarian and the options were VERY limited. We checked the menu on-line prior to making reservation and there was a squash ravioli dish on the menu. When we arrived the waitress told us the menu changed 3 weeks ago for the Fall menu. I asked about the ravioli and told it was not an option. If the menu changed 3 weeks ago- seems like PLENTY of time to update the website!?
They did give us a nice card and small box of chocolates becuase it was our anniversary. That was a nice touch.

Although I did not order an entrée for myself, I started with a specialty cocktail, the Bass-tini, made with a hint of Earl Gray tea, which was excellent. I also had the soup of the day, wild mushroom, fantastic and for my main course a friend and I split three orders of their Salt and Peppered Crispy Squid -- delicious! And my friend does not even like squid. My friends did order entrees: Bass’t Grilled Filet Mignon and reported they were indeed very good. Our server, Shirley, was very professional and the three of us had a great time.

The food is delicious, the scenery pretty, the noise level is terrible. i was with 2 family members that are hard of hearing, and neither could hold a conversation. The restaurant was full, the tables are close together, and you don't want to speak so loudly as to disturb others.
worth the trip if your hearing is good!!

“Major Resting on Laurels” We went to Black Bass for brunch on Oct. 15, 2017, looking forward to revisiting the spot where we had our rehearsal dinner. Boy, what a disappointment! While our server was pleasant, she was very distracted by a large group celebrating a birthday, and did not check in on us very often. No one picked up the slack. In addition, the kitchen was very slow! Short on staff? My wife and I waited endlessly between courses. Mainly though, the quality of the food has TANKED since our last visit. My wife took one bite of her French Toast and quit. She said the toast was dry, with almost no coating, and without flavor. The worst sample of French Toast on record. The bacon was oily and burned. My Sausage and Gravy over Biscuits Report: Unimpressive. Gravy was tasteless and biscuit bland. In short, the brunch was not worth the $35 a head to dine there. Well, the server comped my wife’s Toast, after my wife refused to take it home. A point there. Overall, need to step up your game people. Remember, you have to maintain your spot on the new Buck’s County Tourism ad! The restaurant should match the quality of the view. Until it does, go elsewhere!

This is hard for me to write, Bc I so love the atmosphere and the view. The service was just ok. We were sat right away with our reservation but the hostess forgot to tell our server we had been sat, so we waited for 15 mixtures and only after my boyfriend then went up to ask if we could order did we then get service. They were apologetic. I'm a gluten free vegetarian and expressed this to my server and asked if I could substitute some things in my order. The face she made seemed very annoyed"I'll ask but I'm not sure they'll want to do that" When the order came out, it lacked 3 ingredients from the original order that I wanted and only came out with one- the thing I had asked to substitute- tomatoes instead of mushrooms. Not the end of the world to change or so one would think. Also there were no added suggestions or other pastries or options volunteered to me by our server (being gluten free- trust me not by choice) so, I just sat and watched my boyfriend eat the biscuit basket-he said they were well made. He said the liver pate was outstanding but they were served on what he thought were boxed crackers so that was disappointing. The Diet Coke I ordered was completely flat but I figured since there was an issue with my food order what good could have come if it had I said anything. Overall the food was just ok and for the brunch on Sunday's and for the price per person I was disappointed. I'd say go for the view but it's a bit of a waste for much more than that. It's my second time giving them a try.

We had a special anniversary dinner seated next to the window looking out onto the river and a full moon. It was lovely and the restaurant willingly altered a recipe around a food allergy. The service was slow but I can't say that upset us as we were in no hurry. Our food was fresh, to temperature and quite good. I had the lobster risotto ... the lobster was a little tough and the sauce could have been more flavorful...at $52 I don't think I'd order it again. My date had the filet and that was absolutely excellent. Our waitress was pleasant and overall our experience was quite nice. We would return for a special dinner.

We were looking for a nice spot along the river for a relaxing lunch. Great outdoor dining by the Delaware. The wait staff managed the balance of attention without a rush to perfection. The food was fabulous from appetizers to dessert. Drink options covered everything you'd want on a lazy Friday afternoon. When we left, we were surprised by the numbers dining. We felt like we were alone. A place to take family and friends...any excuse to go back...even in-laws.

The menu was varied snd we all rnjoyef what we had
It was a prix fixe 4 course brunch which included a glass of Champagne.
I especially enjoyed the pate snd salmon mousse appetizer. The quiche of the day was a big hit.
The only drawback was the service.
There was a problem in the kitchen.
They did apologize but only after we asked about the delay in getting our desserts.

We wee greeted at the front desk by Karin and Georgia and taken to our table. Becky was our servicer. My friends had never been to the Black Bass so, it was a real treat to see their reaction to one of the fine dining restaurants in the area. We had the Bass House Wine. The presentations of the meals were outstanding. My friends had the Salmon, Filet and I had the Swordfish. We will return and enjoy another evening at the Black Bass.

They stop serving lunch at 3 and don't serve dinner till 5:30 so we could only have an app at the bar. I don't know why I made a reservation when they couldn't serve us. Was never informed of this when making the reservation. The hostess was not the most friendly person.
