Every time we dine here, the service, food, and drinks are excellent. We were able to thank the Sous Chef personally for such an incredible meal, which was a neat experience. I’m already very much looking forward to our next experience.
We've been there for dinner and wanted to be able to see the River so we came back for lunch; such a lovely place and the food is outstanding.
We had a wonderful meal and the service was excellent!
First time for Sunday Brunch and it was outstanding! Atmosphere, food quality and selection, and service all excellent. Probably the best brunch ever! So great to order from the brunch menu and not have to wait on a buffet line! Absolutely delicious and well presented courses. Highly recommend to friends.
Delicious as usual! Still our favorite place.
A very special place, love the river, food always outstanding!
Awesome dinner I would recommend it for any special occasion great service and excellent menu items awesome tasting dinners ❤😊😎
Excellent food, wonderful customer service. Valentine's Day 2020 was my first time dining here, however, it will not be my last!
Always excellent! Food, service, ambiance. Even on a busy night, they bring their A game.
Our Valentine’s Day date night. An excellent meal and service followed with great wine and dessert. An outstanding evening as promised. Thank you BLack Bass inn.
Valentine’s Day Lunch
My favorite restaurant that is an hour away, but always well worth it. Ambiance next to the river, old charm, great food!!
Very good had brunch most excellent
The location is beautiful. The food was exceptional, staff very friendly. We will definitely go again.
Just a fabulous place to go for special occasions. One of my all time favorites!
Always a great meal. Pleasant atmosphere. Never rushed.
Food was very good for lunch. Servise pleasant.Price was reasonable.
We celebrated by 75th birthday and the Black Bass and since I have never been there in the past was pleasantly surprised how lovely the place was upon entering. The decor was very nice in the restaurant area and the side bar area was a spot we would like to try in the future when passing by. I started with the butternut squash soup which was excellent. We both had the Almond encrusted Halibut and it was delicious.
I would highly recommend anyone to try the Black Bass.
Great setting. Quiet, but that’s because not many people were there. We came for lunch to celebrate our anniversary.
The salad was fantastic. The signature dish was ok, but overall everything was good.
Would go back again.
Overall it was a pleasant experience. Just two suggestions for improvement,
1. The Scallops were nicely seared BUT, only on one side. Scallops should be properly seared on BOTH sides.
2. Service was attentive & courteous through the various courses. It fell down after the main courses were the completed plates lingered on out table for about 10 minutes until I had to call the server to clear the table.
These are not major issues. However, little things like these make the difference between a good review & a great one.
Just one more comment...not a criticism... when making the reservations it asked if there was a special occasion. It was my daughters B-day. Would have been a nice finishing touch & memory for her if Black Bass did a little something ..even as simple as a cupcake with a candle. Again , not a criticism nor expectation, just an above & beyond effort.
Excellent, consistently good food and service. Great place for a special occasion or a dinner with friends or family.
Table that was reserved was unavailable and the one we received was in heavy traffic zone.
A very poor situation for a 30th wedding anniversary.
Appetizer was fine, Entrée was awful rack of lamb was cooked dry and the potatoes were raw.
There were sincere apologies by the waitress who was spread over way to many tables, but nothing from the management.
If you want to go to the Black Bass for a hamburger after a game with a group I am sure it would be fine,
but certainly don't go for a special evening.
The people were very professional and friendly, our waitress was delightful and the tavern room with the fireplace was perfect for the quiet, private lunch we were hoping for. All-in-all the experience was delightful EXCEPT for the following:
I wore black pants and when I stood up after lunch was over I was COVERED with little balls of white lint from your napkins. I wiped them off as best I could with my hands but I had to use a lint roller on them when I got home and I went through several sheets before my pants were free of the lint. This happened to my wife and her friend at a previous lunch and she had warned me not to put the napkin on my lap. I'm told that many of your customers have complained about this...Can't you do something to correct this problem?
From start to finish excellent service and excellent food. We had the filet and rack of lamb. Both were cooked to perfection with the proper amount of seasonings. Don’t miss out on the pear salad as well.
My all time favorite restaurant! Wonderful ambience!
I wish I could give six stars for ambience and five stars for everything else. The food is delicious and the presentation a treat for the eyes. The wait staff is professional and friendly and helpful. And we sat at a window by the river in a room full of delicious things to look at. All in all -- perfect.
My wife and love Bucks County and our favorite dining venue is the Black Bass Hotel. The historic setting on the canal and Delaware River in Lumberville is the most beautiful spot we know with the best and most creative cuisine. The people who work there genuinely like being there and it comes through in the service rendered. Every dish from appetizer to main course was simply amazing. My wife had the shrimp wrapped in bacon with horseradish and I the butternut squash soup with Apple cider reduction. Both were delicious and inventive. Main courses were also sublime with my wife having the scallops over risotto and I the Swordfish Sambucco. Again, both dishes were memorable and delicious. No dessert this go around but we loved the total package Black Bass provides. You can not do better!!!
Enjoyed a wonderful birthday!
My meal was good but not exceptional which I would expect for the price. My scallops did not have a lot of flavor and my salad was okay. My husband enjoyed his filet but said the soup was just okay. I would go back to give it another try.
It's the perfect place for a special occasion. We sat by the window with a beautiful view of the river. Food was delicious and the service from Mary Alice was fantastic. I had the scallops which I have every time I visit and it is never a disappointment. My husband had the lamb which he said was amazing.
We went for Sunday brunch and had requested a window seat in the reservation. Since our table was not ready we were seated at the bar for about 15 minutes. We were then escorted to a window seat that had a lovely view of the river. The server was very pleasant and helpful and made good recommendations. A basket of assorted warm breads with butter was provided at the start. Also complimentary champagne was provided during the meal.
We had to select from a menu of items for four courses. The food and the service for both wonderful. We enjoyed the apple compote and smoked salmon for our first course, cranberry creme fraiche parfait for the second course and the Crab cake with seasonal veggies and eggs with sausage gravy for our third course. When we were presented dessert menus for the fourth course we selected the vanilla mousse cake and triple chocolate cake and opted to get them packed to go. Overall a wonderful experience and we look forward to returning sometime soon....
Had a nice dinner but was long. We hadn’t decided in a drink when the waitress first came and then it seemed like we were forgotten about for a while until eventually our order was taken. The food was good, but my Charleston Meeting Street Crab was burnt on top. It was disappointing that the signature dish was served this way. I did not complain, and the rest of the food was very good and well prepared. The staff was attentive to possible more wine, but not more water. Overall a nice meal, but personal history had me expecting more.
Very nice dinner. Need to pave their parking lot. Valet made a mess on our mats.
Went there for my 72nd birthday and had a lovely evening.. It is our favorite go to place to dine out
We shared mushroom soup which we both agreed was one of the best we've had in quite some time loaded with mushroom bits. The poached pear salad was very good, the pear poached to tender full flavored perfection. My wife enjoyed the beet salad, and while I'm not a fan of beets, I even liked it and had a second taste! I thoroughly enjoyed the redfish with creole sauce, a perfectly executed uncommon plate on par with anything you'd find in a fine New Orleans restaurant! The duck breast was perfectly cooked, but my wife felt the sweet potatoes were a bit firm, perhaps a bit under cooked. Desert was as good as it looked! A very nice meal in a historic inn on the Delaware river.
I would have given it a 5 star but I had the shrimp and grits and the shrimp was undercooked and smelled fishy. I probably should have said something. Other than that the whole brunch was wonderful.
I’ve been here a few times and the food is usually very good. I would say it’s extraordinary but above average. Also it depends on what you order. A few things a very average. The restaurant faces the Delaware River and it’s very beautiful. It could be relaxing except that literally every time I’ve been there there’s been a group of people getting extremely drunk and causing a huge raucous. People screaming with laughter as if they’re in their personal living room. The ambiance of this restaurant does not call for drunks that need to party at the bar or a tavern. It ruins the meal, the view and the decorum. The manager should tell these people to bring down the decibel or leave.
Everything was lovely
Very good. Great food and service just wish it was an earlier reservation to take in the scenic view
