Our waitress, Mary Alice, was excellent: very nice, professional, delightful, & attentive.
The food was very good, but I took away a seat, because 3 out of 4 of us ordered the filet & eggs, and the filet was not a good cut of meat. It was not tender, but quite tough, & difficult to chew. It was medium rare, as we ordered, but had been seared too long, making the outside much too crusty.
Everything else about our brunch was wonderful: appetizers desserts, etc. We will definitely return, as Black Bass holds many fond memories for all of us!
Very happy with our experience at Black Bass Restaurant! All aspects met our expectations - surpassed them really. I enjoyed a delicious bacon wrapped shrimp appetizer, Almond Coated Barramundi entree (yum - curried vegetable sauce), Chocolate Espresso desert, and a pomegranate martini. Pleased that they have many gluten free choices! Others in my party enjoyed the brussels sprouts appetizer, filet mignon, short ribs, blueberry cheesecake, raspberry tart and Creme Brûlée. Everything was presented beautifully and packed with flavor (except perhaps the GF dinner roll). The atmosphere is pleasing with historic elements, multiple dining areas, a cozy bar area, and it overlooks the river. We’ll definitely go back!
My daughter and I had a wonderful Dinner! We want to thank someone there for having the universe smile upon us.
We requested a window table and were brought to a table in the corner no where near the window that overlooks the river.
Drinks were nice but the food was average and overpriced. 4 scallops and some root veg for $36 ! The duck was excellent however. Their signature dessert was a white mousse cake with a very rubbery almost skin on a pudding type of top. It was overly sweet but not very interesting.
There are other places to spend $150 for a night out in the area that might have a better value. Would go again, but perhaps for brunch.
Great view of the river and cozy atmosphere for quiet dinner.
Fantastic food, ambience, can't say enough good things about this restaurant!!
There was only one waitress in the canal room, so service was a bit slow. Another server was needed.
The food was excellent from beginning to end. I must say the ice cream was sinfully delicious. It was good value for the price😀. My only suggestion is for the Black
Bass to vary its menu. The Charleston Meeting Crab was utterly mouthwatering and served piping hot.
Lovely setting by the river. Quaint, charming interior. Excellently prepared food.
We love the Black Bass Hotel and Restaurant and both continue to live up to our expectations! We stayed overnight' for Valentine's Day at one of their comfortable and charming suites, enjoyed the equally charming pub and simply loved our dining experience. We have dined and stayed at the Inn numerous times over the past several years and each experience has been wonderful. We are already making plans to visit the beautiful Bucks County area, and will definitely stay at our favorite Inn again!
Lovely evening and great meal!
The Black Bass is the perfect setting for a nice meal for a special occasion. The river view from the dining room is amazing, and no matter the time of year, the ambiance is always warm and inviting.
Always a treat to eat here! Fantastic gluten free options...even desserts.
Beautiful restaurant with excellent food. Unfortunately, the people on both sides of us were terribly loud. We adjourned to the lower level bar for desert. Three of the four of us had excellent meals. The fourth said the duck dish wasn’t that great. Great water views. Nice to have valet parking directly across the street.
The Black Bass is a lovely place to dine on the Delaware River. We had a table by the windows and it was very roomy to accomodate 4 of us. Our server was terrific.....really on the ball and very nice. The food was okay and pricey. I had the Cassoulet which did not taste that fresh. It was okay but not great. I wish they had more of an extended menu. Others in our group enjoy their "Signature Dish" or Crabmeat au Gratin. They get it every time!
Fantastic. Jill was the best!!!
This little inn has so much character. The dining room seating overlooked the river, so it was very scenic. Service was outstanding. Meals were ok. Not a huge selection of items for lunch, but the portions were large. They were accommodating when I asked if I could switch to French fries from polenta fries. A nice, relaxing afternoon overall.
Great food and service. Always consistent.
The Black Bass is top notch of a the restaurants in Bucks county. Well worth the drive and price.
Very nice restaurant a little out of the way to get too .
Overall good experience.
If you enjoy a overly noisy, crowded dining room, this is the place for you... As good as the food is in this long-time favorite of ours, there is no reason for having tables so close together that the server or bus-person has to practically climb over you to in order to help the adjacent table. My wife was bumped several times while she was eating & I should also mention that the bus-person very courteously asked us 2 or 3 times if we were finished eating while food was still on our plate.
This is a lovely inn that has lost its charm by over-stuffing its main dining room, especially on a Saturday night. I expect much more from the Black Bass, considering its fine food & its somewhat pricey menu, but it didn't deliver.
A must for anyone! Great burgers and the nrunch is amazing!!!
Beautiful views of the Delaware river. Awesome servers and greeters. This is our special occasion venue of choice.
The duck cassoulet was basically just a bowl of dry beans. Very little duck and sauce, just beans. Don’t order it. The gnocchi with butternut squash and also the chicken breasts with mushrooms were really good.
The view from the Inn is beautiful and worth a trip there.
Fantastic with an amazing atmosphere.
Soup was hot and delicious. Salad was good.
The short ribs seemed dry as if they were made the day before and then reheated. Pumpkin ravioli was good, but just warm. Dessert was very good
We love this place but this time the food was OK, nothing great. We will go back again
Excellent, romantic ambiance and great food and service
Great food and great service.
My food was cold and so was my friends . Push in a corner hard to get out.
Just a wonderful dining experience right by the bridge from PA to NJ over the Delaware River. Great food, attentive service, and a comfortable vibe and warm ambience. Highly recommended - my wife and I will be back.
Black bass has always been a favorite. I think the menu has not changed.
My husband and I went for a late birthday lunch. As always, the ambiance (even in winter) was lovely. We enjoyed an appetizer of crispy brussel sprouts with bacon. My crab cake was a bit disappointing. I was expected to see some lumps of crab meat but it was highly processed. My husband's salmon "reuben style" was good. The wait staff were attentive and friendly.
Overall our experience was great. The food and service was wonderful. I just wished we had a better table. We were seated shortly after a table of four. Our table was literally right next to them, so we could hear their conversation and they could hear our conversation.
A wonderful restaurant.
Charming 18th century inn with beautiful views of Delaware River from dining room. First rate cuisine and wine list although can be too noisy when all closely arranged tables are full. Prices reflect a bit of a premium for the location and charm.
Food was great. Service was terrible. Waitress was not attentive and a little bit surly.
We went for my daughters 18th birthday. The valet parkers were very friendly and helpful. We were early for our reservation but the hostess was so nice and seated us anyway. Our waitress was very knowledgeable friendly and provided excellent service. The food was excellent and tasted fantastic. I highly recommend The Black Bass for a great experience
We were surprised at how awful the food was. The calamari-though billed as salty was beyond unpleasant! The dipping sauce is not for the meek or those suffering from hypertension. Not to mention the calamari itself had no color, just flash fried fried and topped with some unappealing fried peppers. The baby arugula salad had the right ingredients only there was so much dressing on it that it was just a wet mess on a plate. Then the tile fish for an entree was over cooked to the point the fish mushed with each bite. The fish was sitting on some sort of sweet sour goo/sauce that totally overpowered the delicate flavors of the fish. The cauliflower in that dish was cooked perfectly, but by the time you tasted that you didn’t care anymore. The scallops were very good, but once again the thick heavy sauce totally overpowered them. Our bill for four people- with only a few drinks was over $300. Go for cocktails. The view of the river is beautiful. Just make sure you eat somewhere before you arrive.
Loved this restaurant. We all had different appetizers and main courses...all perfect.
Thoroughly enjoyed everything just think it’s pricey for what you get - portions too small.
