Black Angus Steakhouse - Vancouver Ratings and Reviews
Disappointed with restaurant for forgetting we were there. Did in line reservation for 7:30 checked in at 7:00. We asked at 7:40 -7:45 when we would be seated. You could tell they missed us. No sorry no remorse. Server nice but slow. Food wasn’t as good as in past. Just disappointed.
i was very disappointed with our server. Granted we came on a Saturday so it was busier than when I usually come, but I and my guest felt like we intruding on her time. She would slip around the corner to either leave something or takeaway something, almost like being afraid that we might ask her to do something, Then when I asked for a "doggie bag" she flung it at me. Now she might have lost control of what she was doing so I will give her the benefit of the doubt but she could has apologized. I did not tip well that night. I usually tip 20% or above but I believe I gave her 12%. My guests said I shouldn't have tipped at all. Thank goodness the Prime Rib was fantastic so I will keep coming back. I just wish servers would realize that their service creates the ambiance.
Service was adequate but the food was not up to norm. Their bread which is normally wonderful was stale and took until midway through the salad to get. As they were waiting for fresh baked. Definitely wasn't. 2 of 4 steaks were not delivered as ordered. We usually really enjoy the food and hope it was only an off night.
We made reservations with Open Table. We arrived, checked in and sat at the bar. We ordered a drink, drink arrived, table was ready, we were seated. The meal was ordered, we were very happy with the selections, the food was prepared just as we ordered. We enjoyed the dinner experience. We will go back.
Black Angus is a go-to for us. What’s to complain about a decent steak, lobster & shrimp for &19.99. The steak was tender with good flavor; the lobster tail was cooked properly and tasted great and the shrimo was OK. The service is usually swift and pleasant, could have been a bit better this night but acceptable. For perfection you pay $75 for the same meal. That is not in out budget. YAY gor Black Angus!!
Four of our five meals were excellent and one was just OK ... not the normal tender filet we usually get at Black Angus. Unfortunately, we were seated at a booth that's was in direct traffic of all people coming into the restaurant which made it noisier and more distracting. Still, we do love the food here and recommend it.
We went for their steak and seafood special. It was a great value. Some if our steaks were a little over cooked, but the lobster was sweet and succulent. Our service was good. We were a party of 6 and had a large corner booth. The seats were nice and firm. I mention this because I have a bad back and this is important to me.
We have been regular customers at our Black Angus for three years. On Monday we made reservations and were surprised by the changes we encountered. Monday was no longer 1/2 priced wine night, it is now Wednesday. The salad composition had been changed and consisted of just naked lettuce smothered in dressing. I could go on but it was very evident that the management was on a cost-cutting mission and had sacrificed quality to increase profit.
No question, we will be looking for a new restaurant that offers a better product.
Out of our 4 meals, most were to be expected in overall value. My filet, however, was "ok" at best. The temperature was off, but more than that, the quality of the beef did not seem up to par. There was a fat ribbon in the middle, and the medium-rare color and flavor was lacking. The sirloin at the table looked to be a better color/temperature than my filet, making me question the price I paid for what should be a premium steak. It wasn't bad enough to send it back, but I thought a comment here may be helpful to the restaurant as I would not order it again. Our server was wonderful and all other things considered, it was a good meal for the family.
Had a great time talking and eating with girlfriend. We had not seen each other for some time and we were celebrating her belated birthday.
Our waiter was a joy. I believe Tyler H, was his name. Will certainly ask for him next time in.
Great dining experience. Although we were about one half hour early for our reservation, we were seated immediately. Our waiter, "Cowboy Cody" was friendly, humorous and personable. In fact, we told Cody that we would be back to have Thanksgiving dinner with him as our waiter next year. As far as the food was concerned, is was excellent and there was a lot of it. The mixture of white and dark turkey meat was just right. The only problem with the Black Angus restaurant is that there isn't one where we live in Bellevue, WA. Next year we will drive the 200+ miles to enjoy another turkey meal and say hello again to Cody.
