Black Angus Steakhouse - Vancouver Ratings and Reviews
We came here for my son's birthday dinner. My filet was really good but the side items were very mediocre. My husband sent his ribeye back saying it was the worst ribeye he has had. The waitress was great she took the steak back and my hubby got a filet. The waitress also brought out a special dessert for my son. All in all we wouldn't go back because of the mediocre food but service was very good.
The service was excellent. The high walls on the booths help to create a secluded but not alone feeling experience. You may see a couple other tables but you are able to have a very private dinner in the area we were seated. The food was prepared perfectly. The steak and salad were excellent along with the Wagon Wheel appetizer sampler.
This is one of our favorite date night destinations. The food is always good and they know how to cook a steak to perfection. Fish and chicken options are also available. My only complaint is that they almost always over cook the fresh vegetable options. No mushy veggies please.
Our steaks all came out undercooked. My wife always orders well done and expects no pink. Hers came out nor medium (not medium-well, medium). Her New York strip was very fatty as well. Mine (ribeye) was supposed to be medium but was closer to rare.
On the plus side our desserts were good and our server was very friendly and helpful. I would hesitate to recommend this location though until I have had a chance to come again and make sure this wasn't a one time blunder.
The steaks were cooked perfectly and really delicious, especially with mushrooms and onions and the blue cheese topping. The a gratin potatoes and the wedge salad were also excellent. The onion rings and the tender crisp broccoli were very good, broccoli not overcooked. The zucchini appetizer was excellent and good even when reheated in the oven at home. The spinach dip was a bit too thick and salty. The mile high chocolate dessert was indeed decadent and delicious. All the staff were good, but our waiter, Josh, was excellent, the greatest! He was most helpful, attentive, and fun, and he made this occasion especially enjoyable for all of us. His attention to cutting my husband's salad and steak was welcome and greatly appreciated. And we appreciate the accessible bathrooms and their location around the corner near the entrance/exit.
The evening dinning at Black Angus was for my Birthday.
The food ordered was lobster and prime rib very tasty.
My husband and son enjoyed their steaks and extra large
beers. Desert for me and my son hot fudge chocolate cake
with ice cream and a cowboy cookie with the same. I just
had one problem what is with all the lights, thought I was
in a library. Less lighting would be lovely the booths are
wonderful reduce the lights.
The appetizer was a lot of food, the main course was good, the alcoholic beverages were strong and the desert was great. Our server was fantastic, she was very nice and informative. It is a little pricey, but good for a special occasion. Would definitely go back and would recommend it to others.
We really enjoy the steaks and grilled vegetables. We have not tried too many different dinner options because we know what we have enjoyed and come back for that specifically. I see the meals on other diners tables and they look wonderful. hard to break habits.
Loved the online reservation system. We made a reservation and got in very shortly after arriving despite a 45 minute wait had we not placed our reservations online. Food recommendations were good. One down fall was that the server asked if I wanted a butter sauce on the salmon, I said sure! She asked the three others having steak if they'd like mushrooms and onions on them. They too agreed. At no time did she mention an extra charge or did it stand out on the menu as something that was available for 'extra. There were other extras that clearly were labeled and gave the consumer a choice prior to ordering...this practice felt deceptive, and for the little extra money they got...left us feeling less then great will toward our evening becausr of this type of practice.
Drinks were spot on and delicious. The wait staff was courteous and attentive without being overbearing. Atmosphere was okay but the decore seems a dated. It was busy and Saturday night but the volume was very reasonable. The meal itself was great and cooked exactly as asked.
It was my husband's 68th birthday and we had gotten some Black Angus 2/for coupons in the mail. Because we had the coupons we invited my husband's brother and his wife to join us as our guests for his birthday celebration. Apparently we did not understand that we needed to inform our server that we had the coupons before we ordered. I'm not sure what the difference this made, however when the bill came we were told we couldn't use them. This was very disappointing since we had budgeted for this based on using the coupon discount. My question is would be have received smaller portions or lesser quality food selections? I hope not... Since your marketing department has blanketed Clark County with coupon mailings it would be really good customer service if the server asked if we planned to use any coupons when she seated us. The food was yummy and our server was prompt and pleasant. The disappointment at the end of the evening was a downer...
Our wait staff was very attentive to our needs and usually took care of refilling our drinks before we had to ask.
Family of six - from the time to walk in, order, eat and walk out we were there for 85 minutes. Pretty quick in getting the food brought to us after we ordered.
We have eaten there many times over the years, and must say, that the chef can grill a steak like a Texan! The stuffed potato skins were excellent munchies. The Mai-Tai was a little weak. We've noticed the prices were a little steep since we last dined there, so we won't be as frequently eating there anymore.
Visiting from out of town house hunting. We are staying at the comfort inn and the restaurant was in the parking lot so it was convenient to give it a whirl. I hadn't been to this chain in the last 30 years and was surprised it looks and tastes the same. Mediocre at best but I must be in the minority as the place was packed.
My filet was excellent. New York steak and ribs were good, but not nearly as good as the filet. Considering that you can choose two sides with your dinner this is a good value. We dined on a Friday evening and the place was PACKED! Do not fail to reserve if you don't want to wait.
