Black Angus Steakhouse - Vancouver Ratings and Reviews
We have been regular customers at our Black Angus for three years. On Monday we made reservations and were surprised by the changes we encountered. Monday was no longer 1/2 priced wine night, it is now Wednesday. The salad composition had been changed and consisted of just naked lettuce smothered in dressing. I could go on but it was very evident that the management was on a cost-cutting mission and had sacrificed quality to increase profit.
No question, we will be looking for a new restaurant that offers a better product.
Out of our 4 meals, most were to be expected in overall value. My filet, however, was "ok" at best. The temperature was off, but more than that, the quality of the beef did not seem up to par. There was a fat ribbon in the middle, and the medium-rare color and flavor was lacking. The sirloin at the table looked to be a better color/temperature than my filet, making me question the price I paid for what should be a premium steak. It wasn't bad enough to send it back, but I thought a comment here may be helpful to the restaurant as I would not order it again. Our server was wonderful and all other things considered, it was a good meal for the family.
Had a great time talking and eating with girlfriend. We had not seen each other for some time and we were celebrating her belated birthday.
Our waiter was a joy. I believe Tyler H, was his name. Will certainly ask for him next time in.
Great dining experience. Although we were about one half hour early for our reservation, we were seated immediately. Our waiter, "Cowboy Cody" was friendly, humorous and personable. In fact, we told Cody that we would be back to have Thanksgiving dinner with him as our waiter next year. As far as the food was concerned, is was excellent and there was a lot of it. The mixture of white and dark turkey meat was just right. The only problem with the Black Angus restaurant is that there isn't one where we live in Bellevue, WA. Next year we will drive the 200+ miles to enjoy another turkey meal and say hello again to Cody.
Went for Thanksgiving with reservations. Service was very good and friendly. Husband was very happy with the traditional turkey dinner and son devoured his steak and big mountain fudge cake. My prime rib was a good portion, but not as flavorful as I would have liked. Sides were fine. Want to return to try other menu items. All around a comfortable experience.
We have had our last three years of Thanksgivings at the Black Angus, the food is always good. But, this year it was exceptional and the service was wonderful. Thank you Alex.
I have spent 46 out of our 49 year marriage cooking Thanksgiving dinner and now I look forward to going to Black Angus. Their dinner is as good as my dinner except for the pumpkin pie, my pumpkin pie is a little better.
The price is really reasonable and the amount of food generous, we always have to take some of it home.
We came to Black Angus specifically for their Thanksgiving meal because serve a fair portion of food at a reasonable price, and we have a 1 year-old. Our kiddo is fairly well behaved but he does like to squeal loudly and toss the occasional item from his plate - so we needed a place that was kid-friendly and a little noisy so he could blend in. We were seated fast, our server was attentive, and overall the food was good. Personally, I thought the stuffing was amazing. My wife’s soup was served cold but quickly replaced with a steaming portion. Our little one ended up eating a little of everything from our plates and flirted with 2 ladies sharing a meal across the way. We had a good time, and we’ll certainly be back.
We had Thanksgiving dinner here. It was the first time I had eaten in a Black Angus restaurant. Normally I would not go to a restaurant that specializes in steak but the choices available for a Thanksgiving lunch were very limited and BA was offering a traditional lunch/dinner at a very reasonable price. I was pleasantly surprised, the food was traditional, delicious and plentiful, the turkey moist and flavorful. The young man who served us was friendly and attentive and efficient. The restaurant itself was attractive, comfortable and had a relaxed atmosphere. I would not hesitate to plan a future visit.
Not having done a Thanksgiving dinner (which I saw on an advertisement) we had no expectations.
But, the atmosphere was great, low noise level, staff friendly, dinner prompt, and the food was great!
Cynthia was our server. She was wonderful. Although she was busy she checked in frequently, had time for a small chit chat, got two dinners ready to take home to our neighbors-and checked the sack to make sure all the food was there.
We would do this again. (And I even got to bring leftovers home for my lunch today!)
We came here for my son's birthday dinner. My filet was really good but the side items were very mediocre. My husband sent his ribeye back saying it was the worst ribeye he has had. The waitress was great she took the steak back and my hubby got a filet. The waitress also brought out a special dessert for my son. All in all we wouldn't go back because of the mediocre food but service was very good.
The service was excellent. The high walls on the booths help to create a secluded but not alone feeling experience. You may see a couple other tables but you are able to have a very private dinner in the area we were seated. The food was prepared perfectly. The steak and salad were excellent along with the Wagon Wheel appetizer sampler.
This is one of our favorite date night destinations. The food is always good and they know how to cook a steak to perfection. Fish and chicken options are also available. My only complaint is that they almost always over cook the fresh vegetable options. No mushy veggies please.
Our steaks all came out undercooked. My wife always orders well done and expects no pink. Hers came out nor medium (not medium-well, medium). Her New York strip was very fatty as well. Mine (ribeye) was supposed to be medium but was closer to rare.
On the plus side our desserts were good and our server was very friendly and helpful. I would hesitate to recommend this location though until I have had a chance to come again and make sure this wasn't a one time blunder.
