This was the first time we ever had an issue with our meal. Absolutely nothing was right. Wrong dressings for our salads, potatoes were incorrect and I am completely convince that we DID NOT get Filet Mignon but we were charged for Filet Mignon. I have been ordering Filets there at least 3 times a year and have never had a bad one, but, these and the service are making me rethink going back. Its gotten really pricey to have a bad $30.00 Dinner. I can get a steak anywhere. Sorry.
Been coming to this place for years, always good. This time unfortunately just so so, think they may be getting their steak from a different supplier. Can't complain too much since we got the feast for 2.
Always friendly, efficient service. Food was a bit below par. Steaks a bit tough to cut and prawns not fresh. Good wine list and drinks. Good desserts. Will probably go back just to figure out which steak is best
One of our favorites - good food, good service, great staff, fair prices, takes reservations.
Took a long time to get seated. Then took a long time to get any food. 30 mins for bread and then about 45 for the appetizer. Service just seemed unattentive .
Great food and what we needed. Had a reservation which I highly recommend. We heard people being told 40-45 minute wait. Glad we had a reservation and only waited couple minutes before being seated.
My son, daughter-in-law and myself went for dinner. We were surprised at the choices on the menu. The food was marvelous. The wait staff excellant. We were glad we had a reservation as the place was full. All in all it was an enjoyable time.
Our food was delicious, but they could not find our reservation when we arrived.
horrible is the only way to describe this, and I will never go back. Waitress ignored us throughout the meal and the food was mediocre to boot!
We are returning customers, who have moved from SW Washington to Yamhill, OR, which is around 45-47 miles. Is it worth the trip? Absolutely! From reserving online, to our server's attention, not to mention the tasty food, and the ambiance, Definitely!!
It's been a while since I've been there and we went for a late Valentine's dinner. It's best to have a reservation because they always seem to be busy. The service was very good and the food was good. I would stick with the steaks as the king crab legs were dry. The wine was a great deal on 1/2 price Wednesdays. I would go back for special occasions.
Arrived without reservation. Told 30 min to be seated. Sat there for a half hour noticing only people with reservations were being seated and no one else. Hopped on OpenTable made a reservation at 6:09 and was finally seated at reservation time at 6:15. If you have open tables and still have reservation space maybe you should seat those who are waiting on a table. They shouldn't have to go online and make a reservation finally be seated.
Got the Campfire special.....(had email coupon...)...
Good food, upgraded to the ribeye ($3 upcharge), and while it was very good, it wasn't great...it was a bit thin, but large (kind of like a steak you'd get at golden corral)...certainly not the thick (but smaller in diameter) chunk of meat they show in the pictures...
That night, the 'premium' roasted brussel sprouts were both hard as a rock (half of them), or mushy half balls (other half)...certainly not the 'premium' ($1 upcharge) they claimed to be. And our waiter forgot to take the upcharge off the bill when we switched back to the green beans and bacon (which were great)...
Overall, the place is very good, just need that extra mile to be great. Certainly better 'american steak and stuff' than Outback, but certainly not in the Ruth Chris class (which in my mind, is a good things from a price point of view).....
The Campfire meal is an excellent deal (especially with the $45 email coupon), with the appetizer, 4 sides (2 each person), 2 entrees, and a shared desert (the carrot spice cake was a bit mushy that night, and certainly didn't look as appetizing or 'grainy' as the picture...looked almost like the cake batter was 'blanded' not mixed....but it was a decent carrot cake, but again, not GREAT.
One other comment....I happen to LIKE the pink sachrain packets...grew up on them, and really don't like the blue or yellow variant (splenda or whatever the other stuff is).....PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN (they don't have any), and make sure they KNOW you want them there.....
The restaurant is showing its age and feels kind of run down. Food was average, but the service was good.
Main course was great as always. Only bad mark I give it was the ranch dressing was like eating milk. No flavor at all I only ate half of the salad because it was so bland.
They’re doing a good job “brightening” up the restaurant. It’s not as dark as it used to be, it’s still fairly noisy in there though. It was hard for my companions and I to hear each other talk. Great waitress/server.
Great food and great service. Recommend to all. We made a reservation online and didn't wait at all
Never fails our meals are always perfect! They cook my steak spot on every time. They have a variety of side kicks and the veggies are always cooked to perfection. I can’t say enough good about this place but honestly I go there frequently and I’m never disappointed . I occasionally venture out to other steak houses and always end up asking myself why did I even bother???
4 of us went out for my birthday. The waitress told me the plate she brought was for me, it wasn’t. I told her it was my husband’s and she told me I was wrong. So I let her put the plate there and we switched after she left. I got a 12oz steak that had absolutely no flavor, and my husband got ribs. I should have switched. My broccoli was raw; I thought it was supposed to be steamed with garlic butter?? The dessert was amazing and I appreciated the “on the House cowboy cookie”.
We would like to try again but don’t foresee it in the near future.
I like it because it is very quiet compare to most restaurants
We have been dining here for over 25 years. Love the food and the service is exceptional. We enjoyed a meal with old friends last Friday night.
Valentines with my daughters and wife
This is one of our “go to” restaurants, and this time was Valentines Day! I ordered the twin lobster tails with my ribeye steak and my wife oeprdered the king crab legs with her filet, and then we shared for a veritable sure and turf meal! Peggy our waitress was attentive and right on top of the situation!
Food ok, but not great. Charged more due to Valentine’s Day. Love the quiet cozy no TV !
Will go again but not right away.
We went on Valentine's day and expected it to be crazy. They were very busy but we were not rushed. The food was good and steaks were cooked rite the first time. Our waitress was crazy busy but kept us on the radar. We did not feel neglected at all. Good job guys.
Very nice staff.
Despite being an obviously popular restaurant, the atmosphere is quiet. We really enjoyed the filet mignon with mushrooms and bleu cheese. My only difficulty is with those hard-backed booths are not good for my back, but I realize most people will probably like them. I will be back, but next time I'll insist on a table.
A group of ten celebrated a birthday. The food and service was excellent. I would recommend it!
Steak was cooked perfect and the compfire feast let’s you try a little bit of everything :)
This was o e of the better tasting Black Angus restaurants I have been to. And the value was great!!!!
Great restaurent - excellent food, both steak as well as fish options - attentive service. Looking forward to our next visit!!!
Seemed to take longer than usual. Busy night.
My sister and I really enjoy Black Angus for quiet dinners. The filet mignon cobb salad is terrific!
First off when we arrived in the parking someone who looked to be living out of his car was fixing it in the handicap parking space. We were going to leave but decided to try it despite the old and run down appearance of the outside. Unfortunately the inside was pretty dated, clean but old. Our server was great and when my lobster was cold and raw inside she didn't hesitate to get me a new one. We tipped her well. However we won't be returning.
The food is good but keep in mind this is a steakhouse. Our service was great this time. Service is usually good but above the bar this time. The tall booths always Keep the noise down so that you can have a conversation at your table. We were celebrating mom's birthday.
Took my dad there for a birthday dinner. The food and service was fantastic.
Very disappointed in the food for the price. The appetizer was really salty, My Steak was good, but my husband's was over cooked, some of the crab was still frozen. I expect much better food for those prices. It was a very disappointing date night for us. The staff was amazing, but I will never go back there.
Love Black Angus for their food and ambiance. However, time and time again when we call and make a reservation we are seated 15-30 minutes later on busy evenings. Why make a reservation? It's a simple fix. Seat those who make a reservation first and on time. Walk-ins wait until an unreserved table opens. Ooops .... that's to simple!
We come quite often and it seemed a bit hectic. We had a reservation but arrived early to enjoy a cocktail at the bar. The bartender shared she would be with us, however chose to do prep work versus serving us. We waited 20 minutes and decided to get a drink at our seat. The server was a bit curt and seemed very casual in her approach. Felt more like a transaction and just did not enjoy my experience. We enjoy dining at black angus, however will not return if the environment continues to be understaffed and disengaged.
