It was my sons 17 th birthday & our server Joe was as allways so attentive the booth seats were dirty but food was exelent
We were seated quickly, our hostess was pleasant, our server was efficient.
Our food was served quickly, I hadn't been to Black Angus in about a year.
Disappointed with the portions of the sides, steak was of fair quality at best.
I'm positive 2 afternoon Sunday dinners shouldn't cost almost 90 dollars, from a chain restaurant?
Great food. Generous portions and excellent service.
My wife and I were joined by our oldest daughter and son who happens to be the youngest of five children for our 50th Wedding Anniversary. This was a get-together on the actual day of the year, April 5th, that we got married. We had a week long celebration with all fourteen in the family in the Santa Cruz area during the former week when all the grandchildren were out of school for the Spring break. We enjoyed the steaks, lobster and a vegetarian Cobb salad. The food was delicious and service friendly, attentive and prompt. Thank you Black Angus Steakhouse for an enjoyable and memorable exclamation point to our Golden Anniversary celebration!
Consistently good at a fair value. This is one our go to places in Vallejo.
Had made reservations there for a group of seven on Easter Sunday. Did not have to wait and the servers were very attentive without being "in your face". Food was well prepared, especially the filet steaks and the prime rib. Prices were a bit higher than we normally pay, however it was a special occasion celebrating my husbands birthday. Everyone enjoyed our time there so it was worth it. Would come again.
Very good Easter lunch! Food and drinks were awesome!
Always wanted to try their New Zealand Lamb and I got that chance today. It was cooked perfect - medium-well and the chimichurri sauce was really goody! Had Brussel Sprouts and Mac 'N' Cheese for my sides - perfectly cooked and tasted great! To drink I got their Strawberry Field Mule, very refreshing and alcohol on point - "silent, but deadly-ish" type of alchy that you don't taste a strong sense of until later continuing to drink it. For dessert, their Lemon Poppy Seed Cake with strawberries and garnished with mint leaf - so delectable! Moist, light sweetness, yet absolutely yummy!
Server was named Rickie(?)...female waitress - pretty, tall and slim with long pretty dreads - delightful the way she spoke and gave recommendations.
Food was great! The steaks where cooked to perfection. We also got the Cooke for dessert and it taste great.
The best part of this dining experience was my open table reservation. We were taken to a table promptly. Although it was the worst table in the restaurant. I asked for a different one and was accommodated. The prime rib was cooked medium rare as requested but it was flavorless. The 6oz. filet was the worst I’ve ever had. It was chewy and flavorless as well. The lobster tail was soggy. Our waitress Kim was kind and did her best to correct my bad meal, however I thought the manager would have made an appearance at our table, but that didn’t happen.
I asked for a special salmon plate with Cajun seasoning and melted blue cheese and it was outstanding. Good service, great drinks, and nice atmosphere.
Clean and inviting dining with gracious service, delcious steaks and sides.
We are regular diners and we enjoy dining at this restaurant. The only issue we encountered during our last visit was the wait time prior to being seated. It was a busy evening and we had a 5:30pm Open Table reservation and we were not seated until about 5:50pm. I prompted the Maître D' but her response was we had another 10 minutes of wait time but luckily, there was a gentleman that intervened and we were seated shortly afterwards. If a customer takes the time to make reservations, a restaurant should honor that reservation. It looked like diners were being seated ahead of us that didn't have reservations which prompted me to approach the reception counter. Anyway, our family enjoys dining at this restaurant even though it's a bit of a drive but we're always satisfied.
Our waitress Sara was friendly and helpful. Our steaks were cooked to exactly as we ordered. the bread was warm. We had people came by a couple of times to clear our empty plates
I appreciate the manager coming to the table after we have noticed a few knats flying around. The waitress immediately contacted her manager and the manager promptly came to our table. It’s been a long time since I have been here and I’m glad I came. Now that I have kids that can eat like grow ups, I’ll be coming more often.
Table was a little small for 4 persons, other than that it was great
It was a nice date nite for my wife and I. Table across from us was a bit complaining. We had same waitress who I thought handled herself very professionally and provided us great service. My compliments to her. Overall? It was great. We’ll be back.
Extremely over priced for the low quality ..... I had a Filet that cost nearly $30.... A Wendys burger is a much better value.....and at that price had to PAY EXTRA for Barinaise sauce...that was THE WORST of it's kind I've ever been served....it was SEPARATED butter.........
'Chain Food' and it's overpriced WORST
Got there they Sat us right away and food was Great! Highly recommended.
Waitress kept forgetting to bring requested items and my drink was almost warm but was supposed to be a frozen beverage. Lots of wait time. We asked to split the check in half with two credit cards. Unfortunately it was far too complicated for her and she blamed the till. She came up with two opposing amounts which should have be two equal amounts! Hate to think if there were more credit cards!
Good ambient the appetizers ,food and desserts delicious I recommend for especial occasion o everyday dining
Very slow. Broccoli was yellow and terrible tasting. Steak was over cooked. Chocolate cake had a weird taste. They had a line for seating, yet they had tables open everywhere. They took a while to seat us even though we had a reservation. It took a very long time to get our check paid. Waitress was overwhelmed. They were out of to go containers. It was a terrible experience.
Valentine's day
We went to Black Angus in Vallejo, Ca, on Valentines Day, 2018. We were really disappointed in the food. It waa really bland and tasteless, so I thought it waa because we were from an urban area, and are used to better food. The meal was also EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE. For dinner, the portions were almost comical. My husband got a steak, which waa 1/3 the size of my entree, the baby-back ribs. Both were tasteless. Our server was nice, knowledgeable, and helpful. But, due to the quality and portion sizes of the food, and the exhorbitant prices, we won't eat there again.
Our waitress was awesome. I wish I could remember her name! We enjoyed our food
Our waitress was awesome......She was around at all times. She brought our food and drinks right away. Service was excellent. Our family will definitely go back again. And bring other members of the family.
Food was good. Service was very good. Our server was very attentive until the end then we felt forgotten. Did not have any remaining drink to wash our dessert down. Cheesy bread was not as good as usual, was dry. Potato soup was excellent. Chicken was flavorful. My spouse loved his meat. Chocolate chip cookie dessert was delicious. Will be back!
Service was very slow. Food was not that good. Artichoke and spinach dip was horrible. More than likely will not go back. Our waitress was very nice we just felt service was very slow. Food mediocre. Maybe a new chef and if it’s not the chef maybe some new recipes
We had 3 other people with us and they have never been before. They will definitely come back. They all loved their food.
The last two visits at Black Angus in Vallejo I had to request different seating both times, hosting needs to pay more attention to customers who do not want to be seated in a teeny tiny booth nor anywhere near a table of 14 okay!! Love the food, service was great last visit and they actually gave us hot baked potatoes this time!!! Last time before that server was inept and therefore our dinner was not as enjoyable as it could have been, aside from the fact that we were moved to a larger booth but closer to kitchen in the bar dining room so quite a lot of distraction buy hey I already moved once so dealt with it!!! I do think that if you are a customer paying damn good money for a nice steak dinner in nice restaurant, don't go cheap on the service or seating in funky areas of the dining hall!!!! Especially when it is not very busy!!! It's our family's go to birthday restaurant so I'll be back for the prime rib and rib eyes and lobster of course!! The jumbo shrimp on the menu are not JUMBO SHRIMP, they are regular shrimp but they are good!! Nuff said....
Disappointing ! We chose local to eat for my husband's BD- We ordered a bottle of wine and our meals. Nothing complicated and within guidelines of menu choices. We waited quite awhile and our wait person returned and indicated that the kitchen was OUT of Brussels sprouts. That was no problem. After nearly 40 minutes, someone showed up with our hot entrees. But - we were NEVER served our salad choices. No one offered to take back our entrees as we enjoyed our salads -instead, -our table was littered with all these food plates- all at once. A manager stopped by, and saw the disastrous meal- and mumbled something about a free dessert! ( No thanks!) Our steaks were both over cooked and cold by the time we got around to eating them. The same man stopped by again- my husband showed him a piece of overcooked steak. The bill came and we were charged for only 1 entree, but got charged for the non-existent Brussel Sprouts. We were OVER this place. Usually, Black Angus is consistent, reliable, and offers a valued product. NOT this time. Waitstaff and kitchen were unacceptable.
Great location to the theater, wonderful strive and decent food!
Everything was good for the most part. We were a party of 7 (1 child), but my 7 year old son's food didn't come with everyone else's. We had to ask a second time for his meal and my sister's salad. The server did not charge us for for it. Food took a bit to get to the table and they ran out of brussel sprouts. Overall it was still good. The server was attentive and nice.
Prime Rib was awesome, service was excellent! Would definitely recommend!
The food was great. The service was even better. The Rib Eye was hot and juicy with lots of flavor.
The bread was hot from the oven.
The server was great. She had several tables but we still got great service.
I made reservations and we were seated immediately. It took our server approximately 20 minutes to take our order. We had to ask our server continuously for drink refills. Our salads and soups took approximately 30 minutes to be brought to us. Our entrees took another 30 minutes to come out. The restaurant was empty of patrons. Our bill was $113 dollars for four of us with a $20 off coupon. The food was delicious but the service was way less than desirable. Two hours in all for dinner, extremely slow. Very expensive compared to other steakhouses such as Texas Roadhouse.
Best service i had in days.... the food qere cooked the way we wanted. My family and I are really please with Black Angus vallejo.
Our waitress was so impatient in taking our orders. She even had a tantrums by taking one of our orders by getting it by her hand and left. This makes our evening so awkward and unpleasant. She didn’t even apologize. I talked to her manager about the incident and the manager was so nice and accommodating and make it right with one of our order. I think you should train well your employees on how to handle this kind of situation. Even though she treated us poorly we still gave a good tip. She doesn’t deserved the tip but it’s not for her it’s for the whole employees who helped us. Foods were ok not really something to come back.
I’m not sure how this place is still in business
I had the Rib eye steak that was cook to perfection, mash potato and salad. I was thier on NEW YEAR'S EVE. The service was great.
