Black Angus Steakhouse - Temecula Ratings and Reviews
My wife had the 6oz filet and bagan to feel sick right after leaving the resturant. She spent the next thre days with extreme food poisen syptoms and had to go to urgent care on Sun. It was either food poisen or stumach flu but she thinks it was the sauce for the onion rings. Bad experince. Also our waiter was the bar tender and he was he was not very attentive.
I can't say there's anything fancy about the place; looks like what you'd expect. What I will say is that, for the money, the food is excellent, the service is excellent, and the value is excellent. I had the filet; my dinner guest had the salmon. We both had specific requests in preparation that were honored and delivered as asked. I travel in to Temecula 3-4 times per year and try to eat at Black Angus every time.
We ordered 4 shrimp cocktails An were very small an not quality!
I spoke to the manager the next day on the phone about it an she said she would call me back as I asked for a credit. We spent close to 400.00$ including tip. Have not heard back!
The shrimp cocktails were 11.99 each An not delicious at all😬
We gave this a third chance, and will never go back there again. Appetizer (WagonWheel) was tasteless except for the buffalo chicken which was so spicy I couldn't taste my wine. The garden salad had wilted lettuce, and to top off the experience we waited one half hour for the entree, which we then spoke with the Manager and left before it came. Not a good dining experience for the 3rd time. Oh this was a different manager than they had the last time (a year ago).
The food is excellent all the way from the appetizers the wedge salad the states the sides everything was perfect The Waiter on the other hand was horrible he does not belong in the hospitality business that being said what I recommend Black Angus Steakhouse? Definitely, the food it's worth putting up with a crappy waiter.
Unfortunately, Black Angus is not anywhere near the quality that it used to be. The prime rib is thin and not flavorful. The ribeye is not flavorful. I can cook a better steak. When I go out to a steakhouse, I expect to have a steak that is expertly cooked and tastes great. I find this sad because this used to be such a great restaurant and has really declined over the past 10 years.
This is the second time my wife and I have been here. We were in Temecula celebrating my wife's birthday and decided to come here again (as we had such a great experience the first time a couple of years ago). This turned out to be a great choice - as, once again, it was an excellent experience.
We started with drinks. I ordered my usual "Manhattan". A very simple drink as far as ingredients go, but very difficult to pull off as it's really all about being a balancing act. This is a great drink to order if you want to test the skills of a bartender. Anyway, it was very good. Not the best, but maybe a solid 7 out of 10. Note: The 2nd Manhattan was much better, probably an 8.5 out of 10. My wife ordered a margarita, and it was perfect.
For appetizers, we ordered the artichokes. These were perfect! In fact, perhaps the best artichokes we've ever had. Amazing and highly recommended!
For dinner, my wife had the salmon. I had the New York Steak. The salmon was amazing. Couldn't have been better. The steak was very good, however seemed to be cooked "off balance" as part was perfect, and part was overcooked. Oh well, the steak was so big that it didn't really matter. It was delicious though.
For dessert, we had the coconut cream cake. It sounded good when we ordered it, but was way better than expected when we tried it. Highly recommended.
Service was outstanding! It was perfect. Very attentive and friendly - just like it was a few years ago.
To us, you get the same quality of food and service as one of those (snotty) high end restaurants in Temecula - for about half the price.
Overall, very highly recommended!
Since we did not know any restaurants in Temecula, we thought we would stay with a restaurant we know. It is pretty consistent. You know what to expect. Convenient to have a reservation on Saturday night (especially after wine tasting and going to Pechanga). Turned out to be a really fun day and ended with a nice meal.
We spent about 2 hours in the restaurant and it was nearly empty. The steaks were cooked to the incorrect temperature, the mashed potatoes taste powdered and the mac n cheese must have been premade. We were quite disappointed with the whole experience. There was also a small party at a table near us that had numerous problems with their order as well. If you want a good steak just get on YouTube, watch at least 2 videos and make it yourself.
We have had extremely good steaks in the past but this time we both had the Teriyaki steak and both were really tough and fiberous--flavor was good and love the sauce, but very hard to chew. And the free lobster tail which is usually very good was overcooked and dry. The backed potato, salad and, french fries were delicious as always. Our favorite is when we have your delicious prime rib! But although we have had very good Teriyaki steaks before, these latest ones were not tender.
Did the bottle of wine with 6 oz fillet and 4sidekicks for 2 deal. Very good tasty steak! The price for this deal was excellent. The wine was a good quality. The sides portions generous. Service was great. Definitely recommend this to friends if u do this offer again.
