Food was great. Steak was medium rather than medium rare. We must have scheduled during shift change. We ordered with one waiter and received our food from another. He rushed us. The kids never received the desert. We ordered the campfire special and it was billed separate. The orders also billed the second side of two meals as an add on. One alcoholic beverage was 23.50. That seemed rather high. Our bill was $220 for two adults and 4 kids with nothing special ordered. Not worth the money anymore for a run down resteraunt, poor service, and mediocre food.
The food was great, service was excellent as it always is. Decor is nice and it is never loud no matter how busy. Always a great place to eat if you want to talk to the others in your party.
Pleasantly surprised as it had been more than 20 years since our last visit to a Black Angus. Everything was just as good as I remembered and virtually the same (menu and decor isn pdated but awesomely nostalgic). We will go back again.
I decided to give this location a 3rd try for Father’s Day dinner after two previous disappointments. Third time is a charm? Our appetizer was decent and came out quickly. Afterwards, the kitchen was slow to get our entrees out and when they arrived were mediocre. The lobster entree was cold with two sad broccoli stalks. These sad broccoli stalks made another appearance on a second entree. A “teriyaki steak” was drenched with a bottled teriyaki sauce AFTER it was cooked. This thick, oversalted, teriyaki sauce drenched the fries and green beans on the plate. The serving size for two of the entrees was inconsistent. One entree had double the amount of fries. At the end of our meal we asked for the check and asked our waitress if they provide a military discount. She told us they do but she needed to get a manager to apply it and she would do so. She came back minutes later only to tells us she forgot to apply our discount. Well, it’s $146 later and third time was not a charm. Definitely not worth the cost for the poor quality and inconsistency of food. Our money will be spent at other restaurants- which there are plenty of! I hate cooking and we go out to dinner often.
Excellent meal celebrating Fathers Day. Kathryn did a great job taking care of us.
Everything was great! Everything was good, food, service, everything
Always good place for a good steak. A little expensive anymore, but still good. Best ribs in town.
Great location place and the people never had any issue, best steaks in Wa
Cook on steak was way off and sent back. Should just taken a minute to make it right but took a while. Rest of table was done eating before my food came back right.
Very disappointed. Spent good money for terrible food. Both steaks were wrong temp. I am tired of asking for something so we just left and won't be back. I'd rather eat at McDonald's.
We were seated in the back and it was very quiet and cozy. Our server was excellent and mostly attentive. Food was great.
Awesome food was great, service was excellent and the atmosphere was terrific
We have always had amazing food here that's what we always go back but on mother's day the cooks where a little off on there steaks. Any other night best food in town
It was mothers day. Me my wife my brother and his wife. Me and my brothers ribeyss were very very grossly with fat, everyone's broccoli was barely cooked and the prime rib had to go back and be cooked again. I'm not hard to satisfy when it comes to food and it was a very unpleasant experience. The food simply was not good.
I had guests from Washington DC and they were both not happy with the food. Mine was okay but as the host, it was pretty embarrassing for me.
I was surprised. Usually we have great service. Today on the other hand was different. There wasn't any sugar at the table, we always had to ask for refills, and no one was picking up the dirty dishes. I will go back because this is not the norm, but hopefully they can change.
Very friendly and helpful server and food runner, great privacy for a conversation you can hear and the food was really, really good! I enjoyed the price for the quality! I highly recommend.
Reservations were for 6:30 PM on a Saturday. Entrance was packed and even with our reservation we had to wait to be seated. It wasn't long, and we were seated by 6:45 or so. Waitress, though busy, was right on top of things with quick service and good recommendations. We each ordered a
filet mignon dinner with a free lobster and two sides. Food was excellent. It had been awhile since our last meal here. We'll be back much sooner this time.
Unfortunately as reservation means nothing to them. Was seated last after all the walk in people and it wasn't very busy.
Superb service, delicious meal, fair pricing especially with coupon. Black Angus in Lakewood WA is our family GO TO place for celebrating special days.
Excellent food and service
Perfect for our family dinner on this special occasion. The meals were diversified and were delectable. The service was outstanding and attentive. This was a very important gathering and we are thankful.
Tacoma - Lakewood
We had an early Mother’s Day dinner on Monday (5/7). The zucchini appetizer was outstanding, my folks each ordered the tri-tip and lobster which they said was amazing. I ordered the 12oz prime rib which was a little “tough” and chewy. We ordered the bread pudding to share for dessert. The pudding comes with a scoop of ice cream on top but the pudding part is SUPPOSED to be hot enough to melt the ice cream - it was cool to the touch (like it was microwaved then left sitting for a few minutes).
The food was good but the order was wrong. My son ordered the prime rib medium rare and it came out raw. I ordered the rib eye steak medium and it came out rare leaning to raw. I was supposed to get the grilled onions but they came out on my son's steak. When we told the waitress that our meat was under cooked she took them back to the kitchen and came back with them 15 minutes later. It was obvious that they had been put in the microwave oven. My broccoli came back olive drab when it went to the kitchen a bright green. The best part of the meal was the potato skins! Very filling!! But they took an hour to get us our appetizers. The manager is very pleasant. I truly think that this could be a great place to eat if the kitchen was better run.
It was great the food was good and our waitress had our food at a good time same with refills
I had the Guinness Stout Braised Beef short ribs. The meat was so fall apart tender and so full of flavor. Definitely a great experience. Our server, Joshua, was excellent and extremely attentive. I will be back!
A friend(who was with my party on Friday) and I used to go to Lunch at the Black Angus in Federal Way and it opened at 11AM. He now lives in Lacey. It would have been nice if the Lakewood store had been open at 11AM as well.
ALL Four of us ordered the Triptip steaks. My friend and I have had the Tritip Steaks in Federal Way which were Very Good and not tough. One wasn't cooked properly and when it came out the second time it was over done. Unfortunately, all of the Steaks were Very TOUGH and the "Steak Knives" were not up to the task. It was almost to the point that I was going to have to get out my personal Kershaw which I keep Very Sharp.
All in all it was an exceptional meal, except for the Steaks. but We will likely be looking for another Steak House. At the least we will NOT be ordering the Tritips in the future.
On Weds. April 25, my husband and I visited the Lakewood, WA Black Angus...this was our 2nd visit (which was vastly different from our March 18th visit).
This visit the area we were seated in already had 3 other booths seated, the server (I think) was still learning the ropes. our dinner was served under cooked (we requested Med-rare prime rib) we received rare to almost raw prime rib. The garlic broccoli was outstanding!!! but the dessert was terrible. The BIG MOUNTAIN CHOCOLATE FUDGE CAKE was a BIG disappointment it was way too chocolaty but the worst part was that the fudge sauce tasted kind of sour.
All in all it was a disappointing adventure, we're going to try BA one more time to see if we want to come back after that.
Overall very good. Steaks cooked to perfection, and our server, Eddie was outstanding.
The service was great! The food was cooked the way we wanted. Our steak was very tender and delicious. They accommodate my wife’s gluten free life style. Our child loved their steak and grilled chicken. The manager was awesome. Our steak was over cooked the first time but great the second time. The manager came over to apologize and took care of us. I recommend this location for a great steak and quiet atmosphere.
This is my "go to" Black Angus.... Always good food and service....
We went to Black Angus for my birthday and it was well worth the hour drive. Excellent food and outstanding service. On a scale of 1-10, I’d give them a 20. We will definitely be back!
Not the Black Angus we remembered. Food was not worth the $$ we spent.
We were very pleased with the food and service. Will definitely come back.
They finally got it figured out by taking reservations. I've been inquiring as to why restaurants got away from this practice. But anyway, the food and service is always great and out of all the restaurants that we patronize they seem to know their industry and what their customer wants.
We go by about 1x/month. If they keep doing this, they'll keep getting my business.
Great service, good value, nice atmosphere
Made the reservation. Still waited 10 minutes to be seated while the restaurant was empty.
Server was great and very attentive.
The host/manager could’ve communicated why we still waited. There was two hosts and two managers at the front check in
We eat at the Lakewood Black Angus at least once a week. The Filet, asparagus, baked potato is excellent. Salads are chilled and very good also. Our server Josh is also very knowledgeable with the menu. He is probably our favorite server there. The mud pie and chocolate cake and ice cream is also very good. Thank you Black Angus, and a very special thank you to Josh.
It had been 10 years since we had eaten at Black Angus and it was great. Our waiter was right on top of everything without hovering.
The food was delicious, we especially love the fried zucchini appetizer we had.
Our prime rib was cook just the way we requested.
We will definitely come back.
Coming to Black Angus to celebrate our birthdays and anniversaries had been a tradition with us but the BA's in California were getting loud and trying to get themselves known as a "party restaurant", we're so glad to have a Black Angus that concentrates on the food and dining experience.
We made the reservation for Black Angus the day before online. We were running late, so we called to move the reservation out another fifteen to twenty minutes. They accommodated us. Arrived and only had to wait a few minutes before being seated. The steaks were cooked to order and were delicious. My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary and were offered a complimentary dessert but we were too full from dinner. We will be coming back.
