Black Angus Steakhouse - Tacoma (Lakewood) Ratings and Reviews
Black Angus is a formula food place with simple plates but decent quality beef and sides. We enjoyed ourselves. We get regular coupons from the restaurant and usually use them as we did this time. The coupons make the value a little better and the prices what I would consider about right.
We were not impressed & would not recommend this restaurant. We were expecting a nice steakhouse, this was not that! My husband ordered the steak & lobster & it was ALL terrible & inedible. The steak (ordered medium) was bloody rare & the lobster was bad (wreaked of ammonia). The steak on my Cobb salad was just as rare. Definitely not the experience we were expecting for a $100 check.
I ordered their ribeye steak cooked at medium well and it took more than 30 minutes. I almost got full eating their bread which was okay. When I got the steak, the bottom side wasn't even cooked as if I ordered it a medium. It says on the menu that their river steak is flavorful when all I tasted was a flavorless steak. On my thing that made it flavorful was the butter and toppings.
Our server was fairly pleasant, but not attentive. Salads were ok, nothing special. Prime rib a little overdone. Chicken was appalling, dry as shoe leather, took 3 bites, rest went home to the dog. Server did offer to get a new serving, but by then husband was finishing his meal. No bread was offered. Carrot cake was best part of the meal. Will not go back.
Great place to celebrate our Anniversary. As it was a Monday evening it was real quiet and intimate , good for conversation. We were seated away from the bar and kitchen which made it even more enjoyable. The prime rib was cooked to perfection and the mushroom topper was excellent. Service was great, attentive without being overbearing. Will definitely return, one of our favorite places.
Again I tried this place because they gave me $25 to dine again well nothings change. Our server sheana (pregnant lady) she asked us if we want sauce I said ketchup she forgot. She did not even refill my kiddos or my husbands drink. It got so late we just did not want the refill. Last time I will ever come here. I regret coming here. Ugh waste of time!!!
We were seated quickly. Friendly staff. Our waitress smiled a lot and seemed comfortable and happy even though it was only her second day on the job. She we will be fabulous very soon. It was apparent there were issues in the kitchen area and our meal took some time to arrive. But... The manager was attentive and friendly and even served us our food. I had a good night. Thank you
We go to Black Angus at least once a month and every single time we have not been let down by the quality of the food. It's always excellent! We have never received bad service and they always make sure your steak is cooked to your liking. Also, the booths have really high dividers so they are very private and pretty quite.
The service was outstanding, the appetizers and the dessert were delicious.
The sides were great, although my son ordered a burger and got about 6 fries-- this was not a kids menu item. His burger was ordered Med. Well and arrived charred and dry, my husand's steak was order Med. and was fine, my steak on my salad was charred on the outside, cold on the inside and was ordered Medium. We did not complain to the server, we were happy with our service and assumed that maybe it was a one off night, we've been before and had great food, needless to say, our dog was happy with the left overs
All in all, I would recommend going, it has a good atmosphere, maybe just apps and dessert though?
My first review of this place a few years ago was excellent. It has been on a steady decline. The standards have been lowered. Food quality is different. They are allowing sub standard stuff to come out of the kitchen. It's really too bad. The service is average and the staff seems disconnected. At this point I can recommend. We may give it one more try. Hoping for the best.
we've been to black angus quite frequently and the service has always been great our last visit on may 14th mother's day wasn't. I don't blame our waitress Ms Kaylee R. she has always been very good but maybe bacause it was mother's day our service was very bad. first off, my parents ordered appetizer potato skins that came out so late that my dad just asked the waitress to give him a box so he could take home. secondly, my mother ordered filet mignon well done, it came medium well, I ordered ny steak well done, it came medium well. in defense of our waitress she did ask how was the steaks ,but the food took so long to get to the table we just ate it as it was. we've been to black angus on busier days and never had this problem honestly were considering finding another steak house to go to. our mothers day meal didn't meet our expectations.
