Black Angus Steakhouse - Sunnyvale Ratings and Reviews
The food was Great. No issues or anything to complain about. We ate alot and walked out not feeling "Stuffed" compared to Red Lobster or Scott's which means the Food was prepared with up most care and pride . Suggest making reservations early on in the Evening since we walked out about 7:30pm and lobby was packed and parking lot was like a holiday parking at the mall. Be Bold and try the Sirloin steak with large Lobster or Prime Rib with Large Lobster with 2 light sidekicks will satisfy your dining experience
We go to Black Angus a lot! Last night was not up to par. Food cold, just the protein and starch on the plate - no veggies or anything else - plate looked bare. Were they really busy in the kitchen and left the usual items off (all 4 meals?) or is this a new trend?
For a lower//mid-price steakhouse, Black Angus always offers a yummy meal. Wait staff/service is good/friendly/quick. Portions are generous, and served meat temperature is within ordered specification. Booths are especially comfortable - and I love that most Black Angus restaurants are not too loud (due to architectural design and higher booth backs) even at full capacity to have conversation.
Very Good! customer service is great and food was served on time. Hot and fresh! I ordered their promotional menu trio of Lobster, Top Sirloin Steak, and the breaded shrimps! Delicious!
I have a gift certificate from Open Table worth of $20 and I wanted to use it for my dine-in. At first, my server said that they don't accept it, then she asked the manager, he said "YES, OF COURSE open table's certificate! That's awesome!" I guess the server is not well-informed about the open table certificate after all. Over-all, everything was perfect.
Thank you Open Table for the gift certificate :0) More dine-in coming!
Wonderful server, great ambiance, food was good, but the Steak, Lobster, & Shrimp special was not up to par. Plenty of food with the Soup & Salad, but the steak was dry and tough. Lobster was good but very, very small. Guess that was to be expected since the price was good. Our server was exceptional, very attentive and good natured. Black Angus has always been a favorite of ours, but the normal prices are a little high for us to dine there very often since we are retired. We usually go there when we receive Gift Certificates or for special occasions such as our Anniersary.
We enjoy dining at Black Angus frequently. It is good for everything from date night to dinner with a large group of friends. This visit, the food was quite good. We used a coupon for a lobster, shrimp and steak special. Make sure you get a reservation for weekend evenings, because it gets quite crowded. The kitchen was a little slow on this occasion, but the wait staff did a good job of keeping us happy during the wait.
We celebrated a birthday there. The steaks were tender and well prepared. Good choice of sides - both decadent and healthy - you can choose. Up beat atmosphere! Comfortable seating. Great waiters. Make reservations ahead so you don't have to wait to be seated.
Perhaps it was a slow day or perhaps we just had some bad luck...
1. Wagon Wheel Sampler - Chicken Strips (overcooked and dry). Shrimp Cocktail - Dry and rubbery.
2. Steak Soup - too salty and small portion.
3. Ribeye Steak - tough and chewy.
4. Prime Rib - No favor and dry.
The waiter give us the wrong bill... charged us for a bottle of wine we did not order and food we did not eat.
We [my husband & I] always use our Campfire Feast for 2 and I get the Grilled Salmon because it is prepared to perfection--crispy edges on the outside and moist & juicy on the inside! They never fail at preparing it like this (in Sunnyvale) so I always stick with the salmon and my husband comes for the delicious prime rib. On this particular occasion, my older sister was visiting and my husband was away. She is a big fan of salmon like me so we took advantage of the Campfire Feast for 2 coupon and were completely satisfied (as always!) with our salmon plates (along with all the fixings that come along with it), as well as the great service from the moment we stepped through the door, during our dining experience, and as we departed.
A reservation was made and the restaurant knows your phone number. But when the kitchen is shut down and no food can be served why did you not call your customers and let them know about the problem. People drove long distances only to be told we have no answers. No manager available and no resolution available. The customer became responsible to find a solution because Black Angus did not have the ability to operate their restaurant..
We enjoy Black Angus as an informal, convenient, inexpensive steak place. We don't expect it to be a high end steak house, so we're not disappointed. We both had the prime rib, which was well-prepared and tasty. With an appetizer and the sides (and the bread, of course), it was certainly plenty to eat, and it's hard to beat the price. Great value!
We went there to eat Prime Rib, and we were more than satisfied. We were celebrating two wedding anniversaries, but we didn't mention that to the restaurant, so we didn't get any special attention, but that was fine too. We got seated fast, and service was fast and just attentive enough. Sometimes you just want to eat and talk.
Online reservation was nice and easy.
We were 10 minutes early. but were not seated until after 8 pm (our reservation) even though there are plenty of tables available. We even saw other parties got seated right away who came in after us. I guess it pays to be "late"
Server, albeit diligent, was robotic to say the least.
When we were seated, we noticed some liquid on the table so we told the server. Her response: "Do you need a napkin???" she must have had seen the looks on our faces & proceeded to wipe the table & said: "It is only water!"
We only left 15% tips as service was not up to par at all.
We went to this restaurant at least twice a month. Last month foods were not that good mushy broccoli, tasteless greenbean and used too much salt. But this time was very good. Service was very friendly greenbean was very tasty , broccoli was crunchy and no too salty. Steaks were juicy and yummy. Keep up with your good jobs and we will be back for more.
There are hardly any Black Angus restaurants left and we are fortunate to live so close to one of the remaining ones around. We always go when we get a Campfire Feast for Two coupon or if we have a special occasion to celebrate. My husband is over the moon for the prime rib and I almost without fail will get the King Salmon--the way Black Angus prepares the salmon is outstanding, crispy on the edges and moist and tender on the inside, yum! My alternate order is the filet mignon. We are never disappointed with the menu and the service is always A++
