This was perhaps one of the worst experiences I've had.
It took an inordinate amount of time to get our food with little communication from our waitress.
The food was over cooked, and again took a long time getting it served. Not much more to say, except that I will go. Ack be cause I like the food and atmosphere.
We have been coming to this Black Angus for over 42 years and it's a great place for a celebration on New Years Eve or any time. Servers are very courteous and efficient! Jasmine took good care of us on this very busy night. Thank you to all the staff who work had to make the dining experience enjoyable.
This was a bad experience from start to finish. We had to wait 35 minutes past our reservation time (standing because there was inadequate seating). Table was right next to kitchen door. Wine order was apparently forgotten and we had to remind our server. It finally came after first course was served. Baked potato was missing on one of the plates. Two steaks were way overcooked and had to be sent back. Then they tried to charge us for 2 additional complete dinners. And this is just a personal pet peeve, but I didn't like being called "dear" by my server. Condescending.
We go to Black Angus Santa Ana fairly frequently and unfortunately our experience at this
visit was very disappoinnting. We had a party of five, and two in our party ordered salads.
One of them is a vegetarian and one is a vegan. They have had this salad often and somehow
the waiter or the cook couldn't get it right. It took four times for them to get the correct order.
The manager did come over and tried to make it right. He comped our entire bill and offered free dessert as well, but even that was made wrong. It was the giant chocolate cookie with ice cream and the cookie was cold, not even heated. My wife's prime rib was overcooked as well and my steak was tough. We will try going here again and hope that because it was New Year's Eve and very busy the experience wasn't what we are used to. I will compliment the
manager on trying to make things right.
I had never dined at a black angus before, so when I received a gift card for my birthday, my wife and I decided to try it out! The service was good, but I was not blown away by the food at all. Under seasoned and somewhat disappointing to be honest. We will not likely go there again. Save yourself a lot of money and go eat at outback for steak of this quality.
I did state on the reservation that it was for bday celebration and we didn’t even get asked about it.... I did not want to remind the hostess or the waiters since I had written it on the reservation... I guess they forgot, didn’t care, or the hostesses did not read the added note.
The food is always fantastic at this restaurant and the service normally always outstanding as well. The only reason I had put the service as "very good" instead of outstanding this time was due the fact that our waitress did not come by to check on things as previous waiters and waitress had done.
We had a very nice time. Our waitress has wonderful she made the meal so enjoyable. She was so patient and kind to us. She got everything right and was very atttentive . The food was okay our steaks were a little tuff. One of us had aspiragrass and she said it was tuff and not very good. Someone else had the artichoke and said it was wonderful. It was a birthday so they sang and gave her a very large warm cookie and ice cream she shared it and it was wonderful. We will return.
The food has always been good and good valu for the money. Enjoy the highback wrap around booths, something sorely using in newer restaurants. The booths make dining a more intimate experience and much quieter. Service is almost always sketchy. This time it was pretty good, there have been times it's been BAD. All in all, we enjoy our visits
We made a reservation for Thanksgiving and we got seated early, which was great. The four of us each ordered the Thanksgiving dinner but the food quality was a bit off from what we would have expected from Black a Angus. We had eaten at this location on Thanksgiving night three years ago and had a wonderful experience but this time was different. The turkey was dry, the sweet potatoes were undercooked, the bread was over baked, and the restaurant ran out of pumpkin pie. They did serve us Mountain Fudge Cake instead but it was only a moderately successful substitute. Our server was okay, but the restaurant’s timing was off. We barely started our salads and our meals were already out. We sent them back and when they came back out three of the four were prepared incorrectly (all members of our party, except me, asked for gravy on the side and they were not presented that way). They forgot the cranberry sauce on three of the dinners too. Beverages were not properly brought out and for the two of us that ordered soft drinks we did not get timely refills either. It seemed like this Black Angus restaurant was not properly prepared for the number of customers that they would have on Thanksgiving night. Over all, this is a good location for dining —- just not on Thanksgiving night.
Food service and quality was disastrous on Thanksgiving! They completed forgot my son's meal. My daughter ordered her steak medium rare, but it arrived well done. My salmon was a horrible tasting end piece. Green beans tasted like fish which we could not stomach. Sides were tiny. We all left hungry and our bill was over $100. Service was also very bland and monotone. Waitress seamed very, very tired. We usually love this place, but all went wrong on Thanksgiving. We definitely will not return for a holiday, as it was a huge disappointment!
Food was very good and timely. Being Thanksgiving they added many more tables and chairs. Never complain about the food and service was good just couldn't believe they added do many tables and chair to squeeze as many people as possible. I will be going back again it is great on any other day.
I like the steaks here and go often for lunch and dinner. I went alone on Thanksgiving, with a reservation, and it was so overcrowded, the wait was long even with a reservation, then they wanted to seat me at the bar (I'm sure because it was just one person). Ended up getting a turkey dinner to go rather than wait another 25 minutes for the dining room. I won't go on Thanksgiving again.
Everything was outstanding. We were ushered to our booth within minutes of our reservation time. We were given a choice of booths. This was Thanksgiving Day. All personnel were effective, efficient, polite and friendly. Megan, our main server, was outstanding. The food was served in a timely manner and appropriate temperature. It was a great afternoon.
1) the Salmon was good, the green beans tough, uneatable, the salad fresh and good.
2) the NY steak borderline in flavor, texture, prepared ok. I believe that the quality of beef has slipped from what was served in the past.
The grilled brussel sprouts were excellent, baked potato average.
Our waitress was outstanding, a pleasant (saving) part of the dinner.
Also, the front desk (personnel) as was the last time we visited, indifferent to those waiting with to much intra personnel comments as those waiting looked on.
And slow to provide seating even though much of the facility was unoccupied.
