The managers came by our table a couple times to make sure everything was going well and making sure that our meal was made to our liking.
Visiting for my father's 90th birthday. The server was very attentive without being disruptive to conversations at the table. Everyone's meal was prepared exactly as requested. The cowboy cookie with ice cream given to us for dessert (birthday) was sufficient for all of us to share.
I'm a "regular" at Black Angus for lunch and Black Angus is normally my first choice for dinner too.
I was disappointed with the cost of the food vs the actual quality of the food. My steak was pretty tough to chew through as well as not very hot when it came out. My mashed potatoes were also not that hot and the mac and cheese was just okay.
Fast service and good food. Don't like the setting layout because feels no privacy. Plates are not very clean!
It’s been a while since our last visit to Black Angus. It was excellent. Our server, Perry, made us laugh while providing great service. The tri-tip was the best steak that I have tasted for some time. A memorable Mother’s Day.
I know it was Mother’s Day and busy but my son’s steak was overdone and Brittany never came back to check on us so he had to eat it. My green beans were disgusting quality and not done. The cowboy cookie was burnt. To pay that much money was disappointing.
I ordered a green salad, it was green but I have never seen any greens like this before, thank heavens the honey mustard dressing was delicious. My entrée was a top sirloin teriyaki. I never got one bite that didn't have grizzle in it. My husband had a filet that looked like nothing we have ever seen before and it too had a over abundance of fat and grizzle. However our server was Jenny and she was very good.
service was pretty poor overall. we had to send my brother’s steak back twice, my cocktail had a long strand of hair in it, and all of our food was lukewarm. in addition, we had to ask for things multiple times before receiving it. simple things like straws.
The service was excellent and food was great
Waiter forgot about us. In the hour and 20 minutes of us sitting at the table he only showed up twice. Food was brought out to us dry as if it has been under the heat lamp, because he was ignoring our table it was hard to get him to come back. He got angry when we said we ordered the steaks medium not well done. Eventually we got a manager to come by, we said we didnt want to eat there at this point, she offered us expired coupons for a future visit and canceled the order.
We went a day early for Mother's day and it was an excellent dining experience. It was so special that my mom was still savoring the experience the next day. Our server, Jennie, was amazing. She was very attentive and super friendly, adding to our fantastic experience. Thank you!
As usual, the food at Black Angus was quite good, but the service was lacking. They really need to staff up, so that wait times go down, both to get seated, and then to get served. If the steaks weren’t so tasty, we’d likely go elsewhere.
Tastes like frozen microwave food
Quality has really gone down
Love the booths here because you can actually have a conversation while enjoying some great ribs!
Bread not hot tonight.
And baked potato not done.
Great service and tasty food.
Good time, and food
The service was outstanding. Open table reservations app is awesome. Made the reservation for 2 15 minutes prior to our arrival. We arrived and parking was a challenge. The place was packed and people were waiting. We waited 5 minutes and were seated ahead of those waiting without open table reservations.
Server was a young lady and she was on the ball. The food was outstanding. The manager even stopped by to ask how everything was going. It was busy.always use open table and love this place
steak came out wrong the first time thank you to the manager for giving us a free dessert
My family has been eating here for years. One of the few places left where the noise level is so low you can actually hear the conversation at your table. Excellent meal choices if you are a steak person.
Nice, relaxing Easter lunch with the family
My family always eat there on holidays because you can make a reservation and there is no wait time. The food is always consistant and there is something for everyone on the menu. If you look at the total price of the meal there versus how much you spend purchasing the food cooking it preparing the table and the house it ends up being way cheaper to eat out. The manager is great at the Santa ana location. You always see him in the dining room and up front doing everything he can to keep things moving. He always comes to the tables and checks in for feedback. The sign of a great manager.
SLOW SERVICE / SUBPAR FOOD / SAFETY HAZARD
Very disappointed...We booked a reservation for lunch, but still had to wait about 15mins to be seated even though the restaurant only had a few people in it. The first table they sat us at was dirty so we asked to be moved. It took about 20mins for the waitress to come by and take our drink/food order. When we finally received our drinks mine was wrong. I asked to have it corrected and the waitress seemed to be annoyed. Red flag...We should've left right then, but stuck it out anyhow. After receiving our food, the waitress never came back to check on us or provide refills. The waitress for another customer stopped by his table at least 10 times. We should've sat in her area. :-/
Slow-roasted prime rib -- Good flavor, but very fatty / Baked potato -- Good / Steak soup -- Terrible. The soup was spoiled and made my husband sick. We told the waitress, but and she nonchalantly apologized.
Filet Medallions -- Excellent flavor, but fatty for a filet / Loaded baked potato -- Good / Salad -- Good.
There was a family sitting diagonal from us. As they were leaving, one of them pricked their finger on a nail that was sticking out of the booth. He was very upset and told the waitress what had happened. As she was checking the booth, she ended up pricking her finger as well. She apologized and told him she would let management know. Not sure whether that happened, but about 15mins later, they sat another family in the same exact booth. I guess they're not concerned about the safety of their customers.
Needless to say, we will not be going back here.
Dry bread to start, salad was not cold, very little dressing, potato was cold and dry and steak was small, flat and cool... what happened to this place? Our server was ok but not friendly...very dissatisfied
The manager Kate was very mean. It was my birthday and I couldn't find the email to get something, I was OK with not getting the complimentary meal, but our waiter ask her if she can bring me out ice cream and she said no. I was very disappointed! ! She needs to learn customer service!!!!
We enjoy Black Angus at least once a month for its great food and service.
I had the 12 oz rib eye. It was full of grizzle and was quite tough. I'm not really sure it was a rib eye
Restaurant had a sour smell. Food was incorrect and waitress needs more training. Cold bread with frozen butter. Ordered a Filet Mignon and it was not tender ...no flavor. A good steak should not be tough and does not need a steak sauce. No comparison to salt grass steak house or even a cheap steakhouse.
A Birthday celebration and my wife and I requested a quiet booth - which we got, along with special pricing for steak and lobster, combined with lamb chops made for a wonderful dinner. This was topped of with a huge “Cowboy” cookie with ice cream!
Wow! Way to be the worst!!! Came here for mom's 50th birthday and will never go back! Our reservation was at 7 for 9 people we didn't get our food until 830 everything came burnt, soggy and cold! The waitress came to our table mabey 4 times never once asked for refills and didn't have the best attitude. The manager took off one meal and an Xtra 15 also offering a dessert but the waitress never came back to our table and I had to go to the front to pay. Horrible experience.
Good food. Lots of variety! Enjoyed a lot!
A wonderful evening. Paul and Zumer, the managers, were fantastic and took great care of everyone. Paul accommodated my desire to have a different table immediately, sent us a complimentary appetizer (fried zuccini was outstanding)and both Zumer & Paul checked on up several times. We weren't the only ones they checked on. They were busy helping and following up with everyone in my line of view the entire time we were dining.
A very nice evening and delicious. The campfire dinner for two is quite a value and a lot of food.
Food was great and service was great. Nick D our waiter was very attentive. And the manager Paul is awesome!
Has an amazing birthday celebration with my family for my son!!
We had a wonderful time and delicious food! thank you
My parents have always enjoyed this restaurant, and to my surprise, the food is really good. Steaks and primerib have been our choices over the years and have never had a "send back"!
My only suggestion at this point, for this restaurant, is seat upholstery, at least the booths. One of the best things, is they actually provide high back booths.
We had horrible service. We had to wait for our table 30 minutes. When we were finally seated, nobody acknowledged us for another 40 minutes. We finally had to flag down a waiter from another section to get drinks and bread. Our actual server showed up 15 minutes after that with no apology. She never smiled. I will never go back to that Black Angus again.
I would recommend it as far as food. We came about a month ago and we were not happy with the service. We thought we'd give it another try, but again the service was poor. It took our server between 5 and 7 minutes to greet us at our table after we were seated. Our server was friendly when we saw him, but we had to ask other servers to ask him to come to our table several times for refills, etc. It was 5:30- not busy yet!! Sadly, our friends that we brought said the food was very good, but were not impressed the service. I will try it one more time, but if the service is poor again, we will not return.
