Black Angus Steakhouse - San Lorenzo Ratings and Reviews
I tried the lobster for the first time and enjoyed it! The meal was worth the price and I took most of the steak and mushrooms home, however I was disappointed with the texture of the asparagus it was a little too tough for me to digest. Of course I loved the ambiance and the course in general and I can not wait to return with some friends.
It started off well where we got seated within 2 minutes. We were able to order and our salads came out within 5-10 minutes. Then unfortunately we waited for a good 30 minutes before our main course came out. The waitress told us that the person that was delivering the food gave it away to another table or just left it with another table, therefore we had to wait for them to put another order in.
The waitress was nice, but thought that the manager that brought out the food to apologize would offer us a drink or dessert on the house, but no. I ordered medium rare, but the steak came out medium and was kind of small in my opinion, but we had already waited 30 minutes for our main course and did not want to wait any longer.
They need to get their act together, especially their back-end help, people that deliver the food. I've recently read a couple reviews of food taking quite a long time to arrive....well at least after reading this review, you will know at least one possible reason why....they gave away your order.
First time at this location. Both my husband & I got the surf & turf. It was very good. The steak was cooked perfectly at medium. Our lobster was just as good & the deep fried battered shrimp was ok. I also had a classic baked potato which was yummy & my husband had garlic mashed potatoes. Our waitress Amelia was excellent! Very friendly, outgoing & attentive. We appreciate great customer service. We'll definitely be back!
Our waitress was in a hurry. She brought us our salads. Two minutes later she brings our steaks. We just left our steaks sitting while we ate our salads. Never had that happen to me before. She asked me cut my steak to see if it was cooked properly. I told I’m not going to cut my steak. It will just get colder. We just started our salads. She didn’t get it. Oh well
We had a FANTASTIC server (I'm sorry I don't remember her name because she deserves a RAISE!) and when you have a party of 4 people or less, the booths are great for conversation. The food is not bad flavor-wise, it's just sizes of the steaks AND the lobster tails are just TINY!!!! Especially if they are in a "special" dinner, i.e., the Trio Special for $19.99 going on right now. We enjoyed the full bar, the variety of beverages and that there is usually some seasonal specials.
Walked in to a very crowded foyer and informed host of our Open Table reservation. We waited less than 5 minutes before being seated! Our server, Ashley, was very friendly and accommodating with taking our order and promptly serving our meal. The only negative point was that our entrees arrived well before we had all finished our salads, so we really didn't get a break between courses. Other than that, we were very pleased with the meal and service! Thank you!
POOR SERVICE ( UNDERSTAFFED ) WAITED FOREVER FOR BRAD ETC. STEAK WAS NOT GOOD QUALITY.. CHEW, CHEW, CHEW. SAD I LOVE BLACK ANGUS AND WE DROVE 1/2 HOUR TO GET THERE. FIRST TIME I HAVE BEEN DISAPOINTED ABOUT THE FOOD AND THE SERVERS SEEMED SHORT STAFFED ..TOOK TO LONG TO BE SERVED.
This was a great family dinner! No special occasion but I was so impressed with the way my dinner was handled. They gave us a beautiful private area to dine. My 87 year old grandmother was so happy. Thank you so much for your staffs wonderful efforts. Our waitor was amazing, she had a great personality and can do attitude. We all adored her. I will certainly return!
Made reservations and we got seated right away. The service was great (our server was friendly and we joked with her) the food was excellent (as usual) it was our anniversary and I received a coupon in my email so we took advantage of it. Overall a very pleasant experience.
The "Star" of this dining event was the Service; "Karen" was point person and along with her supporting team they collectively injected a full dose of "Attentive and Fully Loaded Service" to make "her" diners feel pretty darn special! The food was certainly edible but a good deal of the caloric pleasure was "squished" as cooking and time sensitive plating and delivery did not orchestrate resulting in cold foods, like soup, that should have arrived at the table hot! The Mud Pie still stands tall and is outstanding sweet fodder -- the "misses" were not so intense as to erect barriers that would make prevent the securing of future reservations. Personal Great Service is almost non-existent these days so if you desire some dining pampering do visit the Black Angus and be sure to get a table under Karen's service!
Our server was overheard saying , Why did they have to seat them at this table back in my corner?
She kept telling us they were baking the bread. We never enddd up with any because she later said- oh I didn't think you wanted it when you were almost done with your meal.
The couple next to us ordered steak soup that was not brought out until their meal had already been delivered. They said "we never got our soup" and she said- "you have your meal are you sure you still want the soup?"They said Yes, she brought it. And it was cold.
The service was terrible.
I have been coming here for decades.
It has been one of my family's Go-To restaurants for great food, service and ambiance. I just returned for my 61st birthday and, as usual, was not disappointed.
Really makes for a most enjoyable dining experience. The convenience of online reservations ties it all together.
We have been to Black Angus many times and it is generally a good place to go and get a good meal. We ordered filet and shrimp and these entrees were very good. Unfortunately the sides were not as good as usual. The baked potato soup was not as flavorful as it has been in the past and my husband's arrived cold and had to be heated. The caesar salad was a bit soggy and too salty, again not as good as it has been in the past. Even the Hawaiian avalanche drink seemed to be watered down and less flavorful. We made an early reservation, 4:00, and are not sure if that is why things were not up to par (maybe we were between shifts???) It probably won't make us stop coming, but it will make us less likely to come again soon.
The food was horable. My steak filet mignon looked like cube steak, the ribs were nothing but fat and bones, the chicken had no seasoning the baked potatoes were not cooked and you all ran out of butter. The only think good was the salad and the ice tea. On the other hangs the waitress was nice and tried to accommodate us. But for $80 I would not come back for dinner.
Our table was waiting when we arrived. Great service and very good food. Sports on all of the many TV's. Very kid friendly. Our waitress placed their order first so that they didn't have to wait on the adults to have drinks delivered. Many food options not just steaks.
