Black Angus Steakhouse - Puyallup Ratings and Reviews
No complaints here. Food was relatively fast and excellent quality - though the coconut cake was highly mediocre - just an average yellow cake with very little flavor or filling, and a sub-par coconut-like frosting. Any of their other deserts are much better.
We went at 2 pm on a Sunday, so it wasn't crowded and quiet. We were allowed to visit & take our time which was very nice. The waitress was friendly and our service was good. A couple of the steaks were over cooked, one under cooked, and the green beans were grilled to leather and couldn't be eaten.
Everything was great. My only disappointments from this visit were the extra mushrooms that I paid for, I felt the quantity was very small. They were delicious, but thought that perhaps 5 mushrooms cut in half was a bit slight.
Also, both of us ordered broccoli, to me it seemed barely steamed, not hot, one portion was twice the size of the other, and I remember there being parmesan on there every time that I had ordered it in the past. I love broccoli, but this was a disappointing side kick this time, very plain.
The last several times we have been there, the manager has always been very much present, very friendly and attentive to the customers. Our waitress was great as well.
We usually enjoy our meals very much. This time I found a long hair in my wedge salad. I was offered another salad or to chose another side. I was very disappointed that we were not offered the meal for free. I really could not enjoy eating here this time. It will be some time if I do come back. Very dissapointed
Service was slow and not attentive at all! Shrimp tasted burnt, there was a screaming child that was complained about by another couple but nothing was done. The noise level was loud! Not like I remember the Black Angus I used to dine at. It used to be a nice, quiet, dinner jacket type of place. Now I think all the Walmart people come done there!
All natural beef!
My girlfriend believed and allergy tests confirmed she was allergic to beef and pork.
I did some research and realized it was probably the added hormones and antibiotics in the animals diet she was allergic to.
For the past three months she has enjoyed natural bacon, pork and hamburgers. But I was so very excited to find a traditional steakhouse that served all natural beef.
Stuart Anderson would be very proud to know, she was beside herself with how wonderful her first steak in 17 years was!
Thank you Black Angus for giving us a high end dining option when we go out!
I ordered the prime rib dinner medium well. It was hard and dry. I ate two bites and gave up. The manager was gracious and had a rib eye prepared for me that was much better but I really wanted the prime rib. I have never had a bad meal at Black Angus before.
This visit was a bit of a let down. My wife and I truly enjoy this restaurant, especially with the closing of the Keg restaurants- we try to go once, or twice a month. My wife's grilled shrimp entree tasted like it was freezer burnt, or frozen for a very long time- they were dried out, and tasted like a dried out chicken breast with no flavor. Her broccoli side was over cooked, to the extent of it being yellow, as opposed to a green hue. My rib eye was cooked to order, excessive amount of grissel- similar to a New York steak, and even adding the extra garlic/herb butter topping, it unfortunately had zero flavor. Sadly this experience wasn't a good one as far as the food, which hasn't been the case in past visits, service was good, prompt, and attenative.
Was in a booth close to the bar. The bar was a little loud, but a game was on. If you are looking for a lower sound level there is plenty of booths away from the bar. So if you are there for a special event or a date ask for a booth away from the bar. The noise didn't bother me or my family because I was able to see the game from my booth with my family. Win Win...
Come for the steak, but the asparagus is wonderful and the service was just about perfect. Yes, some tables have to be near the restrooms or kitchen, but the seats were comfortable and the table sized right so the three of us could enjoy each others company using normal volumes.
