The service was bad and the food the steak was cold and Chewey, I had prime rib,my husband had ribs which were cold and no flavor. Not our first time there thought it has gotten better but it didnt. Will not ever go back, and I have been telling people I work with not to go either.
The service was great. Our drinks were refilled several times. The waiter was friendly and pleasant.
We were in a booth near the kitchen and could hear two of the staff members arguing.
I had the fire grilled chicken that was so dry it was like eating cardboard. My coworker had the steak and said it was okay but not great. I was disappointed in the food.
Good food for a reasonable price if you have a coupon or do a special.
The food is always very good and so is the service.
Great for good cuts of beef. I try to go on the early side so the noise level is moderate.
I went for a birthday celebration. I ate the "blood rare" prime rib with a fully loaded baked potato and a chilled plated blue cheese salad, as my two sides. The were generous to celebrate me with a huge, warm, chocolate chip cookie and vanilla ice cream, with a candle on top.
The wine list is fairly simple,so we brought in our own bottle at an added $10.00 corkage fee.
Our service was delightful and consistent with service.
Great place for steaks and with a discount coupon makes it even better!
Soup was too salty, steak was under salted. My moms was slightly burnt on the outside, medium inside, but just tasted burnt. Service was fast. Wouldn't go back for the value of price to taste.
Our waitress was unfriendly
I liked you could make a reservation but when we got there we still had to wait for our table. The food was awesome, very tasty!
Had the 1 1/2 lb cut prime rib which was delicious. Had fries and onion rings with it. The onion rings were really good. Lots of onion and very crispy but not too oily. Also the beer is great. Tasted fresh & Clean taps. Would definitely go back. Also our waitress was very nice and checked up on us regularly to make sure the food was good and if we needed drinks.
We went for my birthday, food was excellent. Well, the food that we got, quit a few things we did not get. The server forgot our appetizer . Food came and it was delicious but again, server forgot my side that I ordered. Dessert time came and I selected carrot cake, server came out and informed me they were out. Sad birthday face. The manager did call and ask me about my experience and I told him but that was the last I heard. No hey, come back, have a dessert, nothing. My steak and Lobster were delicious so it's a shame.
As always a wonderful restaurant for special occasions with great service and food.
We came to this restaurant located at Pleasant Hill for my birthday. I saw an online coupon for its Campfire Feast for $48.99 and asked the waitress about this deal, found out it will automatically come out on the receipt so we gave it a try. It first came with a warmed bread and served with creamy butter. The bread is very nice, soft and warmed, we enjoyed the bread. We got to choose 2 entrees from many options from the menu. Appetizer and dessert were to be shared between the two people. We ordered tri - tip and top sirloin as our entrees, we ordered potato skin and Sky High mud pie for our appetizer and dessert. The steaks were nicely grilled, very tender and juicy, quality of meat is superb. They made the potato skin just right, skin is lightly crisped, not too crunchy. We are also very impressed with Sky High mud pie. We originally thought it will be very sweet and overly muddy. It turned out that piece of pie isn't that sugary at all, it mostly consisted of ice-cream and topped with chocolate whipped cream and almonds. The meal has met my expectation for the price I pay, I had a great time and enjoyed my food. I would highly recommend it to anyone for any occasion.
We really like Black Angus but for the first time we had a lousy waitress. Wasn't mean but wasn't friendly. Not as attentive as we're use to.
They ran a good half hour over our reservation. It was good, though.
Everything was delicious The only thing that was not as good as usual was the desert.
Was looking forward to the chocolate chip cookie in the tin. The ice cream on top was very little this time, and the chocolate chips were not melted, and the cookie was not warm enough was disappointed about that.
The campfire deal was great , the prime rib is too fatty , not much of meat , I preferred to order steak, chicken or fish . Great services and good seating .
I will admit that I had changed my reservations from 5 people to 6 people in the afternoon and that may have contributed to the table sizing issue. However, the change was made through OpenTable and the time showed as available which, I did select and confirm. Upon arriving, they placed us in a booth that would hold 4 comfortably, 5 as tight but, acceptable... and 6 as jammed. Especially, considering they rarely removed the previous dishes from appetizers, salads and drinks that had been finished. We began stacking the dishes ourselves at the very edge of the table. It was interesting that when the busser would come by, he would only take a few of the stacked items and not clear it all. The server was polite however, somewhat neglectful when it came to checking on us. He too would overlook the dirty dishes. We had to ask for drinks multiple times as well as water. The manager would swing by every so often. Although, his arrival was timed just after drinks had been reordered or some of the dishes had been cleared. It was my mother’s birthday and I was not much for making a big issue out of it, at the time. With regards to the food, the appetizers were warm and had a nice taste. We had the Fried Zucchini and Artichoke Dip. The steaks were all cooked to our order and had good flavor. Black Angus would not be my first Choice. It was my mother’s choice and since it was her 91st Birthday... I took her to the place she requested. For her 89th, I took her to Ruth’s Chris steakhouse in Walnut Creek and would definitely go there again and again. That is likely where I would take her for her 92nd... or Vic Stewart’s. Both are a bit more expensive however, definitely worth it! I doubt I will return to Black Angus on my own choice.
food was great and service good too. We had to wait a while past reservations but it was a holiday! Sat at bar and had dinks and it was all good.
Always best to make a reservation any day of the week.
The food was great. It took less then 5 minutes to be seated considering it was Valentines Day. It did help to make reservation. My only complaint is you get smaller portions then before. I had to asked for more bread because the size of the bread was only good for 1 person. Over all the service and the food was great.
Consistently great food which is perfectly cooked to order and very fresh. The service at this location is excellent. Servers are professional, very attentive and prompt.
The food was only okay. They kept forgetting things we ordered. There were a couple bugs that kept flying around too. I don't think we'll be back. Too bad we used to really like it.
We had reservations and were seated at a nice table on our arrival. Service was great and the meal was very good. Have been to this location several times and will definitely return.
Great food and the service is always so friendly. Noise level is lower as it has way nicer acoustics than the newer places to eat in town. So it's a goodcplace to go if you want conversation with your yummy food!
Just a great neighborhood favorite!
After years of great evenings, last Saturday was a disaster! We are regulars, we go weekly or 3 out of four weeks a month for over 7 years!
We waited over 30 minutes for a table we'd made a reservation for well in advance. We have never waited this long before. Very disappointing.
I think there is a disconnect with the new management and new hostesses, they are not aware of repeat customers. When you have regulars who come routinely, for 7/8 years running, make reservations days ahead, they should take priority over couples who just showed up that night.
We still intend on going next week, as usual, but if this keeps up, we will find some place else that appreciates out patronage.
BTW: this only started after Mark [General Manager] moved to another location. Maybe we'll need to travel a little further and go to his new location.
We met with friends on a Saturday night at 6:30, but the place was so packed, we waited until 7:00 to get seated. The waiter told us that two people did not show up to work, so they were slammed. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, though.
Since we're on a strict diet, we ordered healthy choices that kept us on plan. The filet mignon was as good or even better than the last time we ate there. It's Monday and I'm still thinking about that meal. Excellent!
It was a busy night at BA. It took quite a while to get greeted by our server and over 30 minutes from getting our salads to our main course. My iced tea came with almost no ice. The food tasted fine, but it was way too slow in coming.
Also, they need to remodel the bathrooms. Gas stations have just as nice facilities.
Our server was so awesome and attentive even though he was busy with a lot of other tables. Great food for a great price
we were seated within 5 minutes of arriving for our reservation - food was delicious and Ricardo is a great waiter - very glad we invited our friends to join us
Good old standby. You can always count on it for a good meal
The food came out quick and hot with the steaks cooked to perfection. the overall food taste was very good to the cost paid so excellent value. Additionally the Monday wine special with entree purchases was a very good perk.
The decor/ambience needs some updating. The outside entry shows wear/tear and water stains, the bathroom needs some extensive remodeling, and the overall restaurant needs some TLC as a little dark, dingy, and the room smelled a little musty from all the rain
We had coupon for $19.99 dinner which included grilled prawns and sirloin steak and two side dishes. I had mashed potatoes and green beans. The steak was perfectly done and the prawns nicely grilled. The dinner was excellent, and a very good value. The service was not quite so good, as we had to ask for utensils after our meal was served and we never received the bread that was supposed to come with the meal. I would go back again for this dinner.
Our server was exceptional. She took good care of us, made suggestions to help save a few dollars, and had a great sense of humor.
Love this restaurant and their food! The privacy booths are the best and comfortable.
Waitress was nice and not overwhelming
Service was awesome, she was very friendly and timing of salads, appetizer and meals were point on. It was better than the last couple times I've been there. Nice to see restaurants improving in all areas.
Black Angus is for meat lovers. Our perfect steaks were accompanied with green beans and yummy brussel sprouts. The wine list is very limited.
Great food and good service was a we come to return there for our last visit
Waited a short time to be seated. Enjoyed the spacious booth. Service was spotty and disorganized. Ordered the appetizer, entree, dessert option. Salad arrived before appetizer. Salad taken away so we could enjoy appetizer which arrived 15 minutes later. Two bites in the salad came back. 5 minutes later the entree arrived. Too many hiccups for sure with this meal experience. We took the dessert home. Ps waited 15 more minutes to get a refill of ice tea. Finally a friendly staff took pity on us and gave us refills while she was waiting on her own table.
