Black Angus Steakhouse - Phoenix Metro Ratings and Reviews
Went here on Valentine’s Day with a reservation for 8pm. We were not seated until 8:40pm and did not get our food until an hour later which at that point it was cold and didn’t really taste right. I understand that they were really busy for the holiday but food should be hot when it arrived at your table, not like it’s been sitting there a long time without a heat lamp. It was also frustrating making a reservation but still having to wait as long as someone walking in to put their name on the list. We will not be back.
We eat there often but this last trip was Valentines Day. I was very happy that we were seated as soon as we arrived ( had reservation). Was not very appreciative of the higher prices for everything just because it was a holiday or special occasion, we ordered less expensive items and they were not good. I will never make that mistake again by dining on a holiday. PS drink from bar was bad bartender must not know what he’s doing.ordered a Black Russian
We didn't have to wait long for a table but our table was in the old bar area which had TV's on which wasn't what we had in mind for Valentine's Day ~ the area was also not super clean. Our waitress was nice but seemed overwhelmed. Dinner took 2.25 hours, mostly waiting on things like our waitress told us our shrimp cocktail would be out as soon as they could find something to put it in and that they had already run out of dishes....our reservation was at 5:30 pm.
Food was good but overpriced for what it was ~ I would give them average.
We had a desert to go and it was never put in the to go sack with our other left over food from dinner. We had a waiter that had too many tables because he was not very efficient and we had to wait if we were in need of something. It was not what you would call a very special night as we had planned. The food was very good.
Happy I could make an online reservation, most places are just walk in. We had a great time, meal was great and I will be doing this more often! The two other restaurants lost my biz because I could not do what this restaurant and open table allowed me to do. That 30 min waiting outside a restaurant I could be using getting ready. Thanks!
Service was extremely slow and felt like we were forgotten about most of the time. Was not busy at all so should be no excuse. Food was ok but not as good as last time we went there. Probably won’t ever go back there. Prices are higher than other places so we expected better.
We were there early on a Monday night and sat in the bar area. They did not have enough help. The service was not good.
I thought the food was pricey for the place and area .(Metro Center)
My sons burger was about $15.00. My very tiny piece of prime rib $21.50.
There are too many good reasonable priced places with enough help to choose.
Food and cocktails were fresh and tasty. Took a chance by being a first time diner there on Thanksgiving, but the price was right and we were not disappointed. Turkey dinners were tasty and well portioned. The environment is a bit more casual than I usually prefer but with excellent service from the servers, food runners and bartenders, I'm sure I will go back.
Have been to Black Angus Arrowhead a few times. First visit to Metro location. Thanksgiving visit. both of us had the Thanksgiving dinner. With a 3 pm reservation, we were seated about 4 pm. About half hour later received our salads. Without bread. (Noticed a table across from us received the bread shortly after being seated.)
After finishing our salad, which we only ate a small portion of, saving our appetite for the main course. There was another employee pasting by, I requested bread to be served. We were told the bread was being made, but he return in a quick time delivering the bread.
When the dinner arrived, as soon as it was on the table the waitress asked how things were tasting. We looked at each other and just responded "fine".
The amount of food was very small. and the "stuffing" was not even worth putting on the plate, the portion was so small, did not even really provide a taste.
My suggestion would be a buffet style serving in future, But not sure I'd attend a Holiday meal like this again.
Maybe we should had stuck with the normal menu.
The overall experience was good. However the service was a bit slow, and this was noon, before the rush started. The food was very good, but I wished they would have given a choice on the dessert. I definitely would come back and tell friends about it. Also the price was average for the type of restaurant. Thank you.
I had a great birthday. Although the service was quite slow ( not many people seated, the wait staff was friendly) Steak was yummy. Drinks were good. Second time at this location for a family b day ( this time , mine). I blushed when they came out with the big warm cookie a lá Mode.
We had never been there for dinner, only lunch so when we saw the ad in the paper a couple of us decided to try the dinner special. actually thought they would try to get us to upgrade but they didn't. The meal was super and the ambiance is outstanding. the service was the best we have had in a long time
We thought we would give this location another try. We had been right the first time and should have passed. The service was great and the ambiance is very nice. It's the steak that's not great. I had the ribeye, medium rare. It was over cooked and had about 50% meat/50% gristle. My husband had the filet. He requested medium rare. It was over cooked. Two others in our party had the salmon and both said it was very good. Another had the prawns and said they were over cooked. The prices are pretty average for a medium end steak house. We won't be going back.
