Black Angus Steakhouse - Phoenix Metro Ratings and Reviews
Service was extremely slow and felt like we were forgotten about most of the time. Was not busy at all so should be no excuse. Food was ok but not as good as last time we went there. Probably won’t ever go back there. Prices are higher than other places so we expected better.
We were there early on a Monday night and sat in the bar area. They did not have enough help. The service was not good.
I thought the food was pricey for the place and area .(Metro Center)
My sons burger was about $15.00. My very tiny piece of prime rib $21.50.
There are too many good reasonable priced places with enough help to choose.
Food and cocktails were fresh and tasty. Took a chance by being a first time diner there on Thanksgiving, but the price was right and we were not disappointed. Turkey dinners were tasty and well portioned. The environment is a bit more casual than I usually prefer but with excellent service from the servers, food runners and bartenders, I'm sure I will go back.
Have been to Black Angus Arrowhead a few times. First visit to Metro location. Thanksgiving visit. both of us had the Thanksgiving dinner. With a 3 pm reservation, we were seated about 4 pm. About half hour later received our salads. Without bread. (Noticed a table across from us received the bread shortly after being seated.)
After finishing our salad, which we only ate a small portion of, saving our appetite for the main course. There was another employee pasting by, I requested bread to be served. We were told the bread was being made, but he return in a quick time delivering the bread.
When the dinner arrived, as soon as it was on the table the waitress asked how things were tasting. We looked at each other and just responded "fine".
The amount of food was very small. and the "stuffing" was not even worth putting on the plate, the portion was so small, did not even really provide a taste.
My suggestion would be a buffet style serving in future, But not sure I'd attend a Holiday meal like this again.
Maybe we should had stuck with the normal menu.
The overall experience was good. However the service was a bit slow, and this was noon, before the rush started. The food was very good, but I wished they would have given a choice on the dessert. I definitely would come back and tell friends about it. Also the price was average for the type of restaurant. Thank you.
I had a great birthday. Although the service was quite slow ( not many people seated, the wait staff was friendly) Steak was yummy. Drinks were good. Second time at this location for a family b day ( this time , mine). I blushed when they came out with the big warm cookie a lá Mode.
We had never been there for dinner, only lunch so when we saw the ad in the paper a couple of us decided to try the dinner special. actually thought they would try to get us to upgrade but they didn't. The meal was super and the ambiance is outstanding. the service was the best we have had in a long time
We thought we would give this location another try. We had been right the first time and should have passed. The service was great and the ambiance is very nice. It's the steak that's not great. I had the ribeye, medium rare. It was over cooked and had about 50% meat/50% gristle. My husband had the filet. He requested medium rare. It was over cooked. Two others in our party had the salmon and both said it was very good. Another had the prawns and said they were over cooked. The prices are pretty average for a medium end steak house. We won't be going back.
Excellent meal including shrimp, sirloin steak, and a medium sized lobster. Everything prepared excellently, baked potato was stuffed at no extra charge! The salad was outstanding and so was the bread they provided to the table. Service was outstanding and management kept coming around to make sure all was well.
The server was polite, put the service was slow and we were always waiting on something. Our drinks glasses stayed empty and we had to keep reminding her of what we were still waiting on. The food was ok, but not having everything at the same time ruined it. Not worth the time or money.
It was unfortunate that the 16 oz ribeye had one third of fat on it. The chefs ought to trim that off before serving it. Was it worth $30? Although the taste was divine it wasn't worth the price. My sides were mashed potatoes and the Caesar salad which were absolutely delicious.
As for the service, our waitress wasn't attentive. She walked by our table several times and never refilled our drinks. We had to interrupt our meal to get her attention. The restaurant at the time wasn't busy.
I always go to the Angus for 20 years, NO MORE!! I went for my my 70th birthday and it was disgusting. First ask for the baked potato with no bacon bits. Got the potato with bacon bits on it, I told the server, and she said," can't you just scrape them off. I had the 1 pound prime, med. rare, with a lobster tail. I got med prime rib, and was told that is how it comes. Now my lobster tail, was 2 little tails, and was told ,"that was all they had that time! 2 minutes later, I saw a huge lobster being served to another table. Outstanding!! I was upset, but because I was with a Lady with class, I let it go. I was upset and wanted to go before I blew up. I was to get the Mudpie as a gift for my birthday. Again I was told they were out and , the server said she give me a cookie with ice cream on it. OK, please put in to go box, and I'll eat at home. When I got home and opened the to go box, there was cookie AND NO ICE CREAM. What a joke. There are TWO more Steak houses right next to the Black Angus, THEY will be getting my dinners from now on. The Black Angus lost it's class, and how to take care of there guests.
Food was disappointing. One of our party ordered a steak medium & it came very rare and had to be sent back. Another ordered a strip steak & 1/3 of it was fat. Prime rib was overcooked to the point it was tough and chewy. Strip steaks were thin (approximately 1/2"). On the other hand, the server was very good. He kept our drinks refilled and checked in often to make sure we had everything we needed.
