New York Steak Sandwich*
Hand-cut, flame-grilled, sliced New York Strip with sautéed onions, mayo and Bleu cheese crumbles
waiter although new, was very considerate and polite. Inside seating about 50% which made us feel safe.
We had not been back since 2019, with the pandamic, etc. It was such a pleasure to get together for good food, good conversation and a great overall visit. We plan to come back more often.
Been going to Sturt Anderson's for 30+ yrs. The service is going down hill, waited for 15 minutes after being seated for a menu. Ordered prime rib asked for medium rare, received a medium prime rib. The salad was excellent. Will probably go back but if they blow it the second time, I won't be back
What a disappointment. The menu has changed, there are no longer any "bargain" lunch items. My friends and I always counted on a reasonably priced lunch at Black Angus. That's no longer the case. There were no lunch coupons available and no reasonably priced specials on the menu. We ended up splitting items due to the costs. In addition, the kitchen service was slow. When we asked the server about this after well OVER a half hour wait, she said it was because we ordered a steak "medium well" done. Really?? At home that may take an additional three or four minutes in cooking time! Food was ok, the server was nice, but poorly informed. Overall, we decided that we will not be returning to Black Angus again any time soon.
Definitely are favorite Black Angus restaurant! Servers know us, well my husband, pretty well. So they always take care of us. Love the food and the drinks are always great!
We made reservations to celebrate our 6th wedding anniversary and we had a great overall experience. Claudia, our waitress was very nice and attentive. The food was great. Being that it was our anniversary they brought us a big cookie with ice cream, which was very unexpected and appreciated as well. Overall we had an excellent experience, it was on a Thursday and not noisy at all.
good food your summer grill is good with the price is worth it.
Was open for indoor dining. mask mandates and social distancing are observed
Wellll, we had their 'summer special' - - (steak plus two of the following - - baby back ribs, shrimp or bbq chicken). I had the steak and baby back ribs (2), and she had steak, shrimp and baby back ribs. To be honest, the FOOD was better before the pandemic.
The ribs were dried-out and tough (I requested them NOT to smear bbq sauce on the ribs, because it just hides the problems). When I turned the ribs 'over', it was obvious how dried-out (and skinny) the ribs were. (No, I didn't send them back, . . I was feeling sorry for 'this' BlackAngus) But, I did mention 'the' problem to our waiter.
I don't know what it is, . . . we used to frequent this BlackAngus - - just for the baby back ribs - - they were succulent (moist, tender, juicy), just fall of the bone - - perfect.
Now, . . . . . we're, thinking of Not going back. . . .
My son loved everything about Black Angus. We’ve to to other locations but the one in Northridge is always spot on! I usually get the campfire and use the coupon.
Black Angus has consistently great steaks... if you are a steak lover, this is the place to go. They also offer seasonal specials that are delicious and a great variety of alcoholic drinks if you desire. You can sit at a quiet table in the dining room or choose the livelier bar setting, both are equally nice. All the servers I have had there have been attentive and very well trained. The new hostess Tammy is a lovely person and welcomes you with a cheerful greeting.
The Black Angus in our area went out of business right when Covid started. I had a gift certificate, so we decided to drive to the closet one in Northridge which is 40 minutes from our house. We went at 3:00 p.m. so it wouldn't be crowded. The food was very good and the service was great. My only complaint is that they could have seated the four people with a child not right behind us since I told the host we would prefer a quiet section. There were plenty of other tables available. That was annoying. Other than that, as I said the food was good and the service was great.
Perfectly cooked teriyaki steak. Excellent cowboy cookie dessert. Debra G was one of the best servers I've ever had. She made this a most pleasant experience and seemed to read our minds bringing us things without having to ask.
Didnt feel well after the food
Xlnt value. One of the few restaurants that we feel like we are getting good food at a reasonable price.
The service was amazing. The food was good but there were two extremely drunk women just being loud and disrespectful.
Enjoyed a wonderful meal. The restaurant was relatively quiet enem with a large group sitting next to us.
The service was excellent.
My best friend and I have been going here for years. The service is always great, but TJ was particularly good. The food (we usually get Camp Fire Feast with Filet Mignon) is always great. It's always a treat to be there.
Reservation online press summer grill to have server sausage i could notborder it the should of sent me a coupon signed up online yo Black Angus You sent me A 10 off text that day the server said I can't use it expired but I gotvit to I should her on my phone she said I could not use it I went with 3 people spent $250 dollars Food and drinks where great !! Just disappointed In her not letting me order the summer grill and then the $10 off Deatta 805 336-6791
The food was very good. However, the portion sizes on the side dishes were very small.
It was good to return to the Black Angus, Northridge after not dining indoors at restaurants for over a year during the pandemic. Our server, Deborah, was attentive, accommodating and patient with us as we bombarded with her birthday certificate questions. The rack of ribs was fall-off-the bone excellent; the sirloin was tasty and prepared well and the sides were delicious, as always. The prime rib could have been a tad more flavorful and tender. We topped off the meal with our favorite--the Cowboy Cookie--which was complimentary, as we were celebrating a birthday. The portions are abundant and enough for a second leftover meal.
It was a lovely experience and was a nice time out.
Came for a quiet birthday celebration sans baby. It was great- service and food!
We had a lovely server, unfortunately I don't recall her name. I believe she has been there quite a while. She was skinny with blond hair and a very outgoing personality. The food was very good and plentiful but the filet steak was tough and gristly. Other than that it was a very good experience and defiantly a good value for the money.
The server we had was not attentive at all. It took over 20 minutes just for her to bring the desert but we saw her around helping other tables. I get it that you’re busy but as a server you have to manage tables properly. I should know as I also used to work in food service
Menu has changed a bit since the reopening but the food was good, service was excellent and there was no wait. Clean and efficient with friendly staff.
Good overall. Was surprised that on “Wine Wednesday” the staff had not chilled the white wine and server brought a warm bottle to the table. Requested that they take it back and chill it which they did.
We always have a nice time staff is very friendly we usually go knowing that we will be taken care of
My husband and I look forward to Wednesday night when we celebrate our lives together at this restaurant. The service is wonderful and the steaks great. Last night we had shrimp, beef ribs, prime rib and salads. YUM!!! We really enjoying to the Black Angus on Corbin in Northridge.
We sat in the bar and had a nice booth against the wall. The waitress was very nice and efficient. We enjoyed our drinks. margaritas and a whiskey sour with our zucchini appetizer. All of our steaks and prime rib were cooked to perfection and very tasty. We enjoyed a cowboy cookie for dessert.
The bread that was brought out first was tough and chewy as if it had been microwaved too long. My salad was brought out before the appetizer. The appetizer was actually excellent. As far as the entre went the baked potato was tiny and dry and the serving of broccoli was like two springs. Prime rib was not even a 1/2 in in thickness. The waitress was courteous but we've never been served salad before our appetizer. I had to set the salad aside when the appetizer arrived in order to eat the appetizer while it was hot. Then when I went to finish my salad before I could do so my entre arrived causing by steak to sit there while I ate the salad.
My friend and I took advantage of a special--Wrangler steak and two other proteins. We chose baby back ribs and grilled shrimp. The ribs were tender and tasty; the grilled shrimp were tasteless and boring. The highlight of the meal was the dessert we chose--mud pie--it was awesome!
Debra, our server, made the dining experience pleasurable. She's been with Black Angus for 40 years! She was pleasant and fun to deal with, and she was on top of everything. We didn't have to ask for a thing. If you go to Black Angus on Corbin in Northridge, be sure to ask for Debra!!
Black Angus in Nortridge is one of out favorite restaurants. Good food. Great value (especially with online coupons)
Great wait staff.
I don't remember the name of our waitress but, I must say, she was excellent. She was very personable. (She also waited on us a while back and was just as friendly and nice the prior time.)
Mother-daughter date after a year of not. Exceptional service. Will be back.
Deborah, our waitress, needs to chill the F out. She was running around very impatiently, making us feel rushed and gave us attitude when we asked for more time to put in our order. She mellowed out by the end of our meal but it was not a good experience. The food was delicious though, and I’d do back for that. But if they try to seat me in her section I’m going to ask to be moved to someone else’s.
We've always liked this restaurant where the food is outstanding. Service is also great.
Because they have several promotions, the value is worth going. It looks a little dark and could update the flooring. Overall we really like it!!!
Bring back honey mustard dressing .
Eliminate required reservations.
A wonderful resturant to go to with a friend. The high back seats seam more private and quiet. They don't get up set when we spend a little more time than we probably should. The food is delicious and the steaks are cooked just the way I like. (I am very picky). The servers are all pleasent and never seem anoided when we ask for anything. They try to accomadate all our needs. No loud music. Very clean
Used a coupon great value. I’m looking forward to next visit. Very pleasurable dining with family. Service was excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal
