Black Angus Steakhouse - Milpitas Ratings and Reviews
good place to go, great food, but our server made it even better. How many times you go to a nice place but the server wasn't pleasant makes to whole dining out not fun. Then you go to a lower class place but the server is great and makes that dining out fun.
well this place had all, nice place, not to noisy but our server was so pleasant we really enjoyed ourselves.
Huge mistake! It was loud & the service was lousy. The waiter was nice enough, just not around. I realize it was Thanksgiving, but I did not expect it to be that busy & noisy at 5 :00?? Then there was the food. My husband & I both got caesar salad. It looked like someone opened a bag of romaine and dumped the entire bag, half on my plate & half on my husbands. The dressing was all on the bottom. And it had Parmesan cheese, but much of mine ended up on my lap & seat when it was set on the table. I got a filet Mignon that was chewy and not done to order. And the presentation looked like it was just thrown on the plate. When they "served" it, it was on a plate with green beans instead of the broccoli that I ordered. Instead of just bringing me the broccoli, they look the plate and put 2 little pieces of broccoli after removing the green beans. It could not have looked less appetizing! My husband had ordered a strip steak. I was mostly fat and according to him had little flavor. His also looked like it had just been thrown on a plate. I realize they were busy, but it wasn't like we got a price break because they were able to spend the proper time to prepare or serve our meals! I will never go back there again!!!!!
The quality of the meal was good but the portions seemed a little small for the price. The restaurant was not extremely busy but the wait staff was very slow, with the exception of serving our entrees. Our entrees were served to us before we had even finished our salads. We eat there pretty regularly and normally have no complaints about the food quality, portion size, or service but Thanksgiving 2017 did not meet the usual good quality.
My wife wanted a good steak and we had a coupon for the campfire feast. She had the filet and I had the prime rib. Both were tender, jucicy and the perfect taste. We shared the potatoe skins which was a meal itself. With our our sides and mountain cake for dessert we were stuffed. We took most of the skins home with us and some of our meat. We enjoyed the food and service very much. We were right by the kitchen so it was a bit noisy but not as bad as some places I know.
We were skipped over for our call ahead seating. We had to wait 30 min to be seated after checking in and only after asking why we hadn't been seated yet. The service was very slow. The waitress did not provide very good service. It took 1hour and 35 minutes from our check in, until we finaly got our check. Which made us late for our concert at the Shoreline Amphitheater. The show started at 7:00, and we arrived after the first performer had left the stage!
We were extremely disappointed in the overall dining experience!
Bkack Angus has always been one of our favorite places to dine.
This visit wasn't a typical experience. Usually the service is fine, but this time it was lacking. The server brought iced tea without sweeteners and had to be asked for them. He didn't provide any extra napkins to a person who ordered ribs and had to be asked twice for a napkin to use at dessert. When I ordered dessert, he began to walk away without asking my husband for his dessert offer (and he did want dessert). And the people seated at the next table, who arrived after us, got their bread a lot sooner than we did (they had a different server). Small things for sure, but they added up to a disappointing experience.
The wait was short, and the greeter was pleasant and helpful, and wished my Dad a happy birthday. Dad ordered ribs which were tender and fell off the bones. Dad has limited use of his right hand, and independently helped himself finishing all of the hearty meal as it was excellent. My NY strip was tender and flavorful. My daughter's T-bone was cooked perfectly.
The Milpitas Black Angus is the best Black Angus ever! For this event, our waiter Jacob made the celebration that much more special with his careful attention to everything we needed. Please pass on our compliments to the manager for having such a great crew.
+Somewhat disappointed by entree sizes, we had two of their dinner specials: Filet Mignon with Giant Shrimp and Sirloin, Shrimp and Lobster. While all items were tasty, the sizes were ridiculously small. They certainly did not look anything like the glossy pictures on the menu. I am a frequent diner at this restaurant and this is the first time I have been this disappointed.
Did not acknowledge birthday message on the reservation. Food was very poor in quality and preparation. Cold dry chewy and extra fatty prime rib, tiny dry and tough baked potato, tiny dry overcooked shrimp, rice pilaf that tasted like rice-a-roni from a box and salad with no dressing. Not very busy on a Thursday night at 7:00PM. The birthday person ate a couple bites then pushed the plate away since her food was not edible.
