We were seated at our reservation time. Unfortunately our server was very overwhelmed and we waited a long time for our beverages and water, food delivery, getting condiments, the bill, etc. Filet mignon was over cooked it took 30 minutes for a new one, and that came out undercooked. The manager and server both apologized and we were comped the meal.
Portions are getting smaller, I suppose to cut costs. The staff is doing their best to keep up but is often overwhelmed by the number of guests.
Food was great but the customer service was awful. Bathrooms were also really dirty.
We go there often. The food is great and so is the service. We always make reservations and am always greeted politely.
We were celebrating a birthday. The managers were so personable and approachable. Because of the Corona virus they had purell at the front desk when you came in. I asked about there precautions in the restaurant and was told that they wipe the tables and clean everything down great. Great place to go for dinner. I highly recommend it.
I feel that some things have changed at Black Angus. The price of rib eye steak was high for the portion served; and the doneness was incorrect. I and one of my guests ordered our steaks "medium rare" and our steaks were medium--not pink as we expected by ordering 'medium rare." That was a disappointment, but we had waited a while already so we did not ask to remedy the error. Or perhaps our waiter wrote down 'medium' because he did not hear the 'rare' part--it was a bit noisy where we were seated.
Our waiter also missed delivering a second beer to one of my guests; when I realized he did not receive the beer he had ordered, he no longer wanted it, so it was not mentioned to the waiter. It was not on the bill.
So, in the end, I feel that the evening could have been better.
We try to go every Friday and always is perfect for us.
I visited milpitas 1-2 times per month. I was so supersize the food was so delicious and the rib was so juicy.
This time, the rib tasted like overcook. When I told waitress, her feedback was why don’t you tell me early?
I was ordered the steak, how can I know the meat was overcook before tasted?
Great meal and service at Black Angus in Milpitas. We met a friend for lunch and were able to linger and visit after the meal! Thanks BA.
Its was a very night but the manager was very helpful and made sure that we were well taken care of!
We had to wait 40 minutes at 8pm even with a reservation, and it seems like several other people did too.
Even after I made a reservation upon arrival wss told it would be another 45min
So sat at bar about 15 min not one staff member asked us if we wanted to order a drink so my husband and I decided to leave. We didnt mind having to wait fine things happen but being ignored for that long was not acceptable.
We had our reservation at 6:15. We got there and were told we had to wait another 20-30 minutes before being seated. Poor customer service. The restaurant was very busy and there was a huge crowd in the front waiting to be seated. We left. Bad experience. We have visited this Black Angus for many years and this left us a very bad taste in our mouth. Not sure when we are going back.
The food was great. However, the service was terrible. We waited 20 mins for our waters. Our waitress never checked on us for the entire meal. Another waitress was actually helping us while our waitress just stood there and watched. She walked by us multiple times and never stopped to see if we were okay or if we needed anything.
Restaurant was running over 1 hour late on reservations.
We left without eating.
We ended up going to the bar there was other people with same time reservation it was packed good thing to we ordered ate still weren't called for our table
Service was incredibly slow. I realize it was Valentine's Day but staffing seemed a little short to handle the crowd. Food was good as expected though.
Came for an early Valentines Day dinner. Food was delicious and our waiter was cool and very attentive. I just find it kinda awkward a man who worked there was probably the manager. Anyways he came up to us asking how everything was twice. Then a bus boy came up to ask us if we were leaving soon or if we needed anything else. Excuse me??? I’ll leave when I want don’t rush me! We already paid our bill and left a tip and we were jus taking a few minutes to finish our beverages. Don’t try to rush me! That was very RUDE indeed! It’s not like they were super busy and over packed to where customers were waiting for a table. I was NOT happy about that!
We have always enjoyed going to Black Angus. I have always loved the Nee York steak served on the marvelous garlic cheese bread. This is no longer served so I ordered the prime rib sandwich. Not the same. I always order RARE but is always served medium. It was ok . My husband had the salad and he couldn’t eat it all. It was huge but he said delicious. Please, please bring back the Nee York steak sandwich served on the garlic cheese bread. Our server was so helpful and very pleasant.
Our server was very friendly & attentive. Great tasting food. Ready to come back again soon.
The Waiter Ed was very attentive, he explained menu very details and checked every point just needed.
Solid food, great value. Our server (Cesar) was awesome and super attentive, providing a great experience for us. T
The food and service are very good, will come again
The service was very slow, we had to ask for water & bread. These items should have been provided at every table. Despite the restaurant being almost empty, we had to wait a long time for our food. I ordered the pork chop (medium) dinner and the meat was rather tough. We had to wait along time get get our check and then a long time to have it picked up. We were told the corkage fee was $10 and then got billed for $15. When challenged, the waitress said that the host was wrong and the check could not be adjusted.
The service was oustanding in that our waiter brought the drinks before we asked and was extremely helpful. The steak was more medium than Medium rare for me but the Mrs. had their new hamburger with onion rings and it was cooked correctly and tasted great
I have visited this Black Angus many times, over the past years, but this visit was by far the worst ever.
We made a 6pm reservation, on a Sunday night, to celebrate a family birthday. We arrived on time and although they seemed busy we were seated immediately (although our family of four was squished into a table for three).
After being seated it was about 5 minutes before we saw our waiter. The waiter seemed like he was either new or very tired. We had brought a bottle of wine with us and we asked him to open it and bring us some glasses. He left and came back after another 5 minutes with a corkscrew. He first put it in our table but, when we made no attempt to pick up the corkscrew, he finally picked it back up and "attempted" to open the wine. After struggling with it for a couple of minutes in front of us he took our wine to a nearby empty table and continued to struggle. After breaking the cork in half he was finally able to get the remaining piece out.
We then ordered our food and waited and waited and waited. We occasionally would see our waiter go by, in which he would say he "would check on our order" or our "food should be ready soon" or "they are just playing your food", but we did not see our food until 7:30.
The food was okay but definitely not worth the very long wait. The waiter did give us extra bread and a free cheesecake desert to try and make up for our very long wait.
So, not sure if our problem was our waiter, or maybe they were understaffed in the kitchen, but before I go back again I will definitely want to check more current reviews to see if they are still having problems.
Mario our waiter was great. there when we needed something and yet not hovering. The steak I had was very good and everyone had a great time for very little money
The server sucked and was attentive. It seemed like he was avoiding us the whole time.
It seemed like they prioritized the “big groups” and didnt tend to us for a long time. We had to ask for our second appetizer after 15 mins and another 30 mins for our entrees. We saw some tables got their food first than us when we ordered first. It was confusing. We usually go to this place but it wont be for while.
Celebrated my husband’s birthday. The good and the service was excellent.
even though I had made reservation for 6:30 pm and I arrived five minutes before hand, I was kept waiting for more than 20 minutes.I had a coupon which I handed the waitress up front as instructed on the coupon. it was $65 value for $49. Waitress misled us on the side dishes, then later we were billed for them , which she did not tell us upfront about that. I brought the issue to her attention and no favorable action was taken. My bill was over $71. Had water and diet cook for drinks. Had upgrade on the main course for additional $3. Had upgrade on the starter for additional $3. Nothing special was offered for the birthday.
Restaurant was busy as it was the weekend and we arrived during happy hour in the bar. Service was initially great, but by the end a manager was helping expedite. We ended up being there for roughly 2 hours with most gaps in service happening after main dishes were already delivered. Food was on par for a chain restaurant, however I do have to note that Black Angus is the only chain I've been to that actually cooks steaks to the right temp. So kudos for that.
We did have to wait a while for a server to cone take our order. Otherwise food and value excellent.
Black Angus is always a good choice & this particular restaurant was wonderful. Although there were lots of customers & our food came later than expected, our server (Ed) was incredibly attentive & kind. He kept updating us every few minutes as to when our orders will be ready which was awesome. Side note, my favorite classic sidekick of theirs is the au gratin potatoes! So delicious :)
The food was mediocre at best.
The restaurant was clean and pleasant, the hostess was friendly and our waiter was extremely nice and he always made sure that we had everything we wanted. He was phenomenal!
Waited for 45 mins on NYE despite a reservation. Apparently they double booked since they had two separate reservation systems.
We were there for dinner on New Year's Eve. We enjoyed the dinner for two at $49.99. The steak was good but the best part was the grilled artichoke starter.
Service was well-timed and friendly. Reservations , no well managed, but it was December 31, and there were too many customers.
New year's eve was crowded but hah reservations so we were seated within 15 minutes. Dinner was good. Steak, lobster, shrimp done perfectly.
