Black Angus Steakhouse - Lancaster Ratings and Reviews
We have always enjoyed our time at Black Angus. We made reservations thru Open Table for Valentine's Day. We were seated 5 minutes after our reservation time! Not to bad, especially with no reservation there was a 2 hr wait. Our waitress was on point. Great food as usual (Prime Rib & Crab Legs). The wife and I frequent the Restaraunt at least twice a month and I have lunch there many times. Coupon specials are great. Reccomend this restaraunt anytime. Thanks for being a wonderful establishment.
We enjoyed our Valentine's Day Dinner. We were seated earlier than the time of our reservations since we got there a little early. We didn't have to huddle close together or shout to have a conversation.
It's not our first time eating here and won't be our last, Lord willing.
Our campfire feast for two was cold when brought to our table. Waitress took it back to kitchen. It was returned to our table about 15min later. Both meals were on same plate, and had been microwaved. Spoke with a manager about this issue. Meal was eventually comped. Tried to make up for it with a very large mudpie. Won't be back for awhile.
We were greeted by the hostess and seated about 10 minutes after the reservation. Our server was prompt at getting our drink orders but as the night went on her attention to our table was severely lacking. We had to ask for drink refills. She neglected to get our soup and salad to us in a timely manner which led to the main course being served before we could finish the prior. The steaks were overcooked. I was thinking that they got re-heated because she forgot about the first course. She appeared to be attentive to all of her other tables around us. She was slow to bring the check and it was incorrect anyway. Never were we offered a dessert menu.
Only issue we had was our with our waitress. We paid for our meal half cash and half card. When we got the receipt for the credit card slip there was an extra 20 on there. We told her that we paid the 50 in cash and she told it was only 30. She did give us 20 back but it was just really fishy and wondering how many times she has gotten away with it.
Made reservations online easy peasy. However, still had to wait for a table. Food was delicious although their portions were small. Ordered some drinks and they have gotten chincy on their drinks as well. Ordered a regular Sangria and they filled it up with so much ice my drink was mostly ice. Wish they would bring back the Cowboy Sangria. It was bigger and better tasting. Be warned, prices going up, portions going down.
We have been eating at this Black Angus for many years, and honestly a few of those years, the food was mediocre, nothing to write home about, while other years were very good. Well, such has been the case for the last 5 or 6 trips, which have been excellent. We eat there when we have some good coupons, so the value is right, and the food has been excellent! I usually order the NY Steak or Ribeye, and they have been prepared perfectly. The flavor and tenderness have been excellent, and cooked to the medium rare I requested. My wife usually gets chicken or salmon, which she says has been excellent. I prefer to get one of the premium vegetables such as brussel sprouts or asparagus, and although extra cost, worth it in my opinion. All in all a good experience, I recommend going there, especially with coupons which are readily available.
The food was excellent and the service was excellent too! We were there on Super Bowl Sunday and we sat in the restarurant section and it was quiet even though there were people in the bar rooting for their teams. So the way the sound system is set up is excellent also. It was nice and quiet for our special dinner.
Another great dinner at a great place. Atmosphere is always outstanding, I gave overall 4 stars only due to our sitting location, it was a little cool/cold every time outside door was opened. In addition restaurant customers waiting to eat were standing almost in front of our table. Even with this said, I would still recommend this establishment for lunch or dinner, location mentioned is probably the least best table in the whole restaurant, especially in winter.
Christmas Eve - 7:00 PM reservation for 9, and we knew the servers/workers were sacrificing some of their holiday time to help keep the restaurant open. They did a wonderful job, even as we stayed a bit through closing time. The kitchen did not cut any corners for the sake of expediency, as the food was great. Ages of our group ranged from 7 to 75, and EVERY SINGLE PERSON enjoyed a great evening at the Lancaster, CA Black Angus.
In Lancaster, this is my favorite go-to restaurant for both casual everyday dining and celebratory meals. Go for the steaks and burgers because they do both excellently; other dishes are tasty but not extraordinary. Service is ALWAYS topnotch. On this last visit, Eddie let us order from the bar menu in the main dining room -- since we were with our mother, our booth was definitely more comfortable for her. We splurged on '5-napkin' burgers on this occasion -- my mother thoroughly enjoyed hers, as did my sister and I. Eddie served us very professionally, was pleasant and courteous, and anticipated our dining needs before we asked. Since we eat here at least twice per month, we became loyalty customers and are rewarded with coupons and other promotions. Thank you Black Angus.
When we lived in the area, we met friends here for dinner frequently. This occasion service from the kitchen and bar was "off". Drinks and appetizers were slow to come out. Bar sent two bottles of the wrong wine, one of which our server opened before noticing the errors. Food was great, however.
We were having a nice dinner for myself, my wife, my son and his fiance. This was before they were leaving to New York for Christmas, so essentially, this was our Christmas Dinner with him. All four of us found our dishes to be prepared just as we requested. The steaks were very flavorful, and the sides were seasoned and prepared so well, all our plates were cleared. Our waitress was friendly and made us feel appreciated. I enjoy coming each and every time.
Black Angus is my favorite dinning place in Lancaster. This was the first time the food had cooled off before serving. The place was packed and a buzz with celebrations, so I must clarify that normally Black Angus has the best service and food in town. Give them a try!
We go to Black Angus when we want a warm, well rounded, hearty meal. The appetizers and desserts really do fulfill every taste bud. As a family, we each like our steak cooked differently and Black Angus' chef gets them all right every time. The wait staff is always friendly and the service is pretty good. We always ask for Black Angus gift cards for Christmas!!!!
The Thanksgiving dinner was a very good price. The food wasn't too good though. The salad and bread started out well but the turkey was haphazard and tasted bland and like it was made in a hurry. The stuffing was average. The broccoli was well undercooked. The pumpkin pie wasn't very good either. So although the price was good, food wasn't too good. Sometimes on a holiday they just can't keep up with the quality. I've eaten there on average days, not holidays and the food was very good.
