we had a coupon for the Campfire Feast for two(reg-$62/coupon-$47) the New York strip ended up being thicker than the ribeye, and tastier. Service by Rachel was great-she was professional, thorough, fast, and very friendly and warm. We selected the sky-high mud pie for our dessert.
We got coupons in the mail so we went. Everything seems like it’s an up charge, sautéed onions or mushrooms, etc. Our teen got a raspberry lemonade and it was $3.95 with no free refills. Our steaks were decent and close to cooked to order. My ribeye was thin which I don’t like but it was tasty. We also had a filet (very good), bbq chicken (OK), shrimp (decent) and sirloins (very good and tender). Overall we were pleased. With tip around $135 for four. We would return as the food was decent and the service was friendly and attentive.
I like the Black Angus but sometimes the food is more expensive than at other restaurants. And the portions are smaller. Also, the noise level is usually loud and I do get tired of paying high prices to listen to screaming and crying children. I only say I would recommend it when there is a "special" going on to justify some of the other "problems". Thanks for the opportunity to give this review.
Place was not busy at all, but we were seated right next to a work station. No ambiance whatsoever. When I ordered my steak medium well, it came back rare. I sent it back and after a considerable time (after we were done with our meal) it did come back but well done. I brought it home and fed it to my dog. We feel the experience at Black Angus was not worth the high prices.
The food and service was great. So was the enviroment.

Food was ok. But not very hot. Steak undercooked but dealt with it. Took a long time to get our food on a slow night. Just ok. Nothing special on a special occasion.
Unfortunately during the past three years I experienced the decline in service, portion size and the inability to get a steak down right. Two visits back we returned a steak twice. We gave up. The ribs use to be longer and tender. This visit the length was a least an inch shorter. While the meat was thicker, it wasn’t tender but chewy. While the server started out well, his lack of training quickly became apparent. You don’t bring a desert item to the table that can melt in the middle of the entree. You also should at least visually check throughout the meal to ensure the beverages don’t run dry.
Server was helpful and sweet. I did dinner for 2 @ $65
I received my plate and it was bland. No color on the plate.
Mashed potatoes were served with no gravy felt really dry. Only thing I liked out of paying that much was the dessert.

We made last minute reservations, and had a large party. They were able to accommodate us in a short amount of time.
Our server, Sean, was fabulous! He was very personable and knowledgeable. He kept our drinks full, and checked back with us regularly, but didn't hover.
We all enjoyed our meals and out time at Black Angus, and will be back!
Need to reopen one in Modesto, I’d be there more often.
Took my husband for Father's Day dinner. The servers were great and our food was served hot and quickly.
This is one of our favorite places! The only negative was the bartender cleaning behind the bar BEFORE taking our order
We had the Campfire dinner for 2 which is a lot of food so it is a good value. We had grilled artichoke for an appetizer, everyone's entre meats were very tender from steaks to ribs served with two sides. If you still have room after all that, there's dessert which you can eat there or take home to enjoy after your dinner has settled. We were seated in the bar which was a little loud since our table was under the overhead speakers. The servers were very attentive bringing us anything we needed almost as soon as requested.
Our food and service were great .
The only thing we did not like was our reservation was for 5pm and we did not get seated untill 5:30pm.
We were told there was not enough waitresses or waiters.
This is one of our favorite restaurants. We come 1 to 2 times a month.
People should not have wait 30 minutes with a reservation.
We waited an hour before we got our entrees. 2 tables were seated after us and we're finished before us. The server was nice but easily distracted, liked to talk a lot. We never got bread, to go boxes we had requested. Overall was just not impressed.
The bbq chicken Cobb Salad was delicious. I would totally order it again. The bread was also a hit
Great service. Hot food and very accommodating staff.
Our steaks were excellent as usual, and a good value. My wife's salad was fresh and had a nice selection of greens and vegies. Our server did not know the alcohol selection at the bar, and when he went to check he still didn't know what bourbons were available. We stopped at the bar on our way out and had our celebratory shot I was looking for.
Good food and service
Every time my wife and I go, it's the same story. No matter how busy they are, or aren't, the service is incredibly slow. The waiter we had was sub-par, at best.

We were seated in a booth, which we prefer because the noise level is less than the tables. This makes conversation possible for my husband, who is very hard of hearing. The hostess and waiter were very attentive and helpful. We had the shrimp for our appetizer and the sauce was just the right spiciness. My husband particularly enjoyed his ribs and my prime rib was exactly the right rare that I prefer.
We chose the cheesecake for our dessert and I think it may not have been as fresh as it should have been. However, my birthday brownie was perfect. Thank you for a lovely dinner.
Third time is a charm because they do not know how to prepare a Med Rare mignon, nor have the hospitality they should when someone is paying over 100 for dinner just to take it to go and let it go to waste
Quality is way down from what it used to be. It seems like they are cutting costs to stay in business. We won’t be back.
We had a great time ! Of course my family was the loudest because we’re crazy plus we had two little ones , but our waiter was outstanding !!!! I truly wish we would of had more cash on hand for his tip because he deserved it all! I will say that my chicken was EXTREMELY dry and I didn’t enjoy it at all but everything was so delicious i just dealt with it! Can’t wait to come back again !! Hopefully I’ll have Sean again !
We always like Black Angus - this time was especially good. Food was outstanding and Eric, or server, was excellent. A really enjoyable evening.
Service was slow. Only reason I came here was to try out the 2 for $50 they were promoting. I understand that chain restaurants might not have the best quality food and service but I do recall the food quality was a lot better last time I came here, about 2 years ago. So they might have new kitchen staff or something but the food was pretty bad this time around. We barely ate because of how greasy, dry, and cold our food was. The server, although slow, did try to accommodate us, but we were so grossed out, we just ordered a couple drinks and ate somewhere else. I would not recommend this place.
The food was good but the service was not. From the time we sat at our table until we ate and paid our check it was over 2 hours. We saw other tables near us seat the guests, eat and leave. I think our waitress did her best but many times she was not to be found.
Was there for Mother’s day and had a great experience. It was a little crowded but the food was great and service was equally as good! Loved it!
Very good service, seated immediately with our Open Table reservation, excellent food. My wife said that this was the most tender steak she had ever had. Everyone in the party had their steaks prepared exactly as requested. Special requests were handled nicely.
It smelled terrible in there on mother’s day. We walked in. Watched 2 elderly couples leave and the 3 hostesses didn’t even grab the door. We got up and did it. Both couples had 1 wheelchair or walker. And needed door assistance. Lame
Excellent food and quiet ambiance, served by a courteous, helpful and efficient staff. We frequently dated there 37 years ago, so a bit of nostalgia for us as well. Overall a great dining experience as always.
Our company ordered steaks. We ordered two of them medium rare and 1 well done.
The two that were to be rare were medium well and the one that was to be very well done was medium rare. For the price of the steaks, I would expect the meat to be cooked the way it is ordered. The wait for the food was very slow as is often the case at Black Angus. This restaurant has a large seating capacity, therefore I would expect the kitchen staff to be prepared to cook for many people and have the food cooked to order as ordered. I have been in other restaurants that have large seating capacity, and have not had to wait as long to receive the food.
As long as I have been eating at Black Angus, the wait for the food has been long, especially when there is a large crowd.
We have enjoyed dinners at Black Angus in Fresno a number of times, and have never been disappointed. Our last visit on May 11, 2019 was excellent
