Black Angus Steakhouse - Fountain Valley Ratings and Reviews
Our server Claude is indeed one of the best at this location. He was handling multiple tables but yet make every effort to come to our table to see if he can get anything else for us. Black Angus now has baby back ribs on the campfire menu which is a plus. Delicious tender and very tasty.
The restaurant was mostly empty but we were non the less seated next to the kitchen ( noisy ). The salad consisted mostly of harsh greens ( no lettuce ), a couple grape tomatoes, and a few croutons. I had a steak ( good ) and a baked potato ( barely warm ). My wife had shrimp ( over cooked ) and a baked potato ( barely warm ). A disappointing meal at best and not what we are accustomed to at this restaurant.
We visited on Thanksgiving. Although we didn't want a turkey dinner, they informed the table next to us that they had run out of turkey and prime rib as well. Bad planning on their part.
My husband and I both ordered sirloin steak, his was very tender and looked much larger than mine. My steak was borderline tough...the server offered to have another cooked for me, but I didn't want to wait, so I ate it as is. My husband had to send his baked potato soup back twice because it was brought out very cool.
Normally, I would give this neighborhood restaurant a good review, but they dropped the ball on this holiday evening.
Went for Thanksgiving dinner with the family. An excellent choice. Nice , relaxing dining room , very good service and low noise level considering the crowd (busiest day of the year for them). Wasn't our first choice as we go here quite a bit and wanted something a little fancier for Thanksgiving but next year we are coming back for sure. Couldn't have been better
We were dispointed with the Thanksgiving dinner. The mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes were chunky and not very warm. The sweet potatoes looked like undercooked carrots. There was hardly any stuffing. Very little gravy was on the turkey, stuffing and mashed potatoes. The stuffing was dry. The cranberry consisted of about a one teaspoon serving. I don't remember the food being that bad in past years.
We had our Thanksgining dinner at Black Angus & you impressed us with service, quality & quantity of a full turkey dinner from salad to Pumpkin pie. Kudos for making the meal so close to homemade that we will be back next Thanksgivings for sure, and sooner for your regular menu.
This was our first Thanksgiving dinner away from home and the experience at the Black Angus certainly met our expectations. The place was packed but everyone was in the holiday spirit and the short wait for our table was pleasant. Connie was our server and even though she was extremely busy, she made time to make us feel comfortable. We all ordered the turkey meal and the food was excellent. Everything was fresh and good tasting. We will definitely go back next year. Be sure to make a reservation as the wait was long if you didn't have one.
Went there for thanksgiving dinner. Food and service were great. Claude was our waiter and he did an excellent job, very attentive and friendly.
Would return to try some of their steaks.
Bar seemed very busy but the bartenders were attentive as well . Several large screen TVs around the room that we’re good to watch the game.
We got reservations for Thanksgiving dinner. We will go back for the turkey dinner again. I’ve never had turkey at a restaurant that wasn’t very dry. Our meal was moist, even the white meat. Everything was seasoned well. And we were served a large portion of all. Enjoyed our cheerful waitress too.
Sister-in-law was in town and wanted to return here. Easy reservations made on OpenTable. Seated when we walked in. The only hiccup was waitress was busy so had to wait about 15 minutes to place drink and dinner order. Took advantage of Fall Trio special. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Noise level was a little high, probably due to surrounding booths containing numerous children.
Dinner was good - not great, but our server, Ashley, was. The steaks were a bit tough & not much flavor. We had the trio - steak, shrimp & lobster. The piece of lobster was a good serving - the shrimp was deep-fried a bit too much. My Caesar salad was fabulous - very crisp with a very cold fork.
Not what it used to be years ago. Plates are boring. They don't even give you vegetables unless you pick it as one of your sides. Soup and salad is not offered with your meal unless you pick it as one of your sides. Overpriced and not very good. Service was poor
I have been coming to the Fountain Valley Black Angus since 1981. You use to have dancing in the bar area. My wife and I came there for date night before we got married. We have dinner there about every other month. We celebrated our 34th wedding anniversary at your restaurant on November 12th. I am going to be celebrating one of my daughters birthday on November 18th. I tried for reservations for 6:00PM for 8 people but you had none so I had to change it to 7:30PM. I realize you don't have that many areas to handle big parties.
The food is always good and it is reasonable with your specials.
Our server, Claud, is the most efficient male server we have had in a long time. Very personable and quite apologetic that my steak was not prepared to my liking the first time. Got it taken care of quickly. The Manager himself came over to apologize and gave us a mascapone flavored cheesecake on the house. The food is always great at Black Angus. Steaks & pork chops are cooked to perfection every time. We will keep coming back because of the quality of the food, the service and price.
