Black Angus Steakhouse - Federal Way Ratings and Reviews
When we got there, I noticed many empty tables, and not too many smiling faces from the staff. After 12 years of not visiting a Black Angus, I expected a more streamlined experience. After being seated by our hostess who was in a hurry, we waited almost 10 minutes before our drinks were ordered. When our server showed up, she was smacking or chewing on something, and made no eye contact. When I asked for suggestions since I had a dinner entree coupon, she didn't have positive body language, and was quick to tell us how much more expensive sauces were.
Once our ordered was taken, we did get warm bread and drinks quickly. The problem is that part of our order came in 10 minutes earlier. So it was not coordinated well.
Other than that, nothing spectacular or memorable.
Very popular place with good value for the meal. Reservations helped reduce the waiting time to a few minutes and I would recommend on a weekend. We chose the Camp Fire special that gave an appetizer, generous choice of an entrée and two sides with a dessert to share. I had the prime rib and my wife the filet mignon. Both were excellent. I will return again when in the mood for steak.
We went on Valentine's day. I understand that they disallow coupons on the dinner. that was fine. But they didn't honor my senior discount, nor did I get the celebratory birthday cookie. WHAT DOES A FRIGGIN COOKIE COST THEM? My birthday was a couple days away, and every other time we went for birthdays, we got the stupid cookie. It's kind of like a slice of cake. It's part of the celebration. It kind of took the celebration out of the dinner. How cheap and miserly. I won't be back anytime soon.
Usually pretty good. Ordered rib eye, got prime rib. Server asked if I wanted fresh horseradish. It never came. Wife's back ribs were overcooked on outside(ie. Burnt). Ordered bread pudding for dessert. The bread was cold instead of hot. Might have just been a bad night.
We were staying in Seattle for the long weekend with another couple. After several really bad meals at some of Seattle's hot spots, we decided it was worth the drive to go out of town for a good meal. It was definitely worth the drive. Everything exceeded our expectations. The food, service outstanding!!!
The food is always top notch at Black Angus. We were there at 5:00 pm on a Saturday and I had the ribeye steak and twin lobster tails and she had the prime rib and twin lobster tails. Both meals were amazing! The only complaint was that we were seated in an isle booth that looked right out into the waiting area so while we were trying to have a nice romantic evening, everyone waiting to be seated was watching us. Plus, everyone that was being seated had to walk right by our table so we felt like monkeys in a zoo. We've eaten there many times before and had semi-private tables. We wouldn't eat there again unless they gave us a more private table.
It is a drive from wher we live but we don’t mind it is defitely worth the drive. The food is great, the noise level stays pretty low because of the high sided booths which we love. It adds to a privacy which is especially great for celebrating anniversaries. We love this restaurant!
One word--S.L.O.W. Our reservations were for 5:30 and we didn't get out of there until 8:00. I know there were 7 of us and it was a Saturday night, but come on, 2 1/2 hours from seating to payment? Just glad we weren't trying to get to a movie afterward. Food was fine, but we felt trapped! Don't think I'll go back.
They didn't have any bread, any time we asked for it we got an annoying look saying they are low in supply. After about 25 minutes we finally got our appetizer (still no bread). She just dumped the appetizer on our table and left no plates for myself and the 4 other people at my table. I would have asked for plates but we didn't see her again until the main entree arrived. When the food finally came (still no bread) my ribeye was overdone and was not the best quality. Bread was finally brought toward the end of the meal. The baked potato was very dry. Dessert was good.
I expected better quality and better service. Spent a lot of money and left feeling extremely disappointed.
Black Angus is a favorite venue for my husband and I when we want a quiet dinner. We have a special needs daughter who requires a lot of care, so we really value relaxing during our evenings together. We usually ask for a quiet booth and designate that request in our online reservation. The person who seated us seemed to not be aware of our preference and first tried to seat us in a low-backed, more open booth in a busy area. We asked for a high-backed booth. She took us to a booth next to a large noisy family group. We then asked for a QUIET private booth. The third time was a charm. Our 41st anniversary dinner was a success from that point on. We used a coupon and had a delicious affordable dinner with great service.
The first table they tried to seat us at looked like it was a storeroom off the main dining room. walls on all four sides except for the entrance and it was dark too. We took a table for five and it was brighter and more ambiance to it. Had a great time with shuffling plates. the food was great and everyone had a great time. We'll be back
We had filet mignon and salmon with a range of veggies and appetizers. All was delicious. Service was perfect, always there when we needed it. I love the booths – even though it was crowded, we had our own space. Black Angus is a favorite for our family. <3
The food is always prepared consistently from one visit to the next making it a reliable mainstay restaurant. The servers were very attentive and friendly without being intrusive when engrossed in good conversation. My favorite aspect is the tall padded booths that provide privacy, make it cozy on a rainy day, and keep the overall noise level very low.
The food that we ate that day wasn't so great. We ordered a medium steak but it was way overcooked. We also ordered the sampler platter and the potato was so crispy (in a burnt way) that you could tell that the chef had sort of "overcooked" the platter as well. The bread tasted a little chewy as well, not the pull apart feel that you typically get when you go to Black Angus.
The saving grace of that night however, was our waitress Kim who made every effort to make sure we had everything we needed. She would always come and make sure everything was well and did her best to remedy the food situation. She went above and beyond and made everything a bit better. We would like to thank Kim for her exceptional service!
As usual the food was great/ Cooked to perfection. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Our waitress, Melissa, was outstanding and made sure the food was to our liking. She promptly refilled our beveredges. Our night out was very nice. Thanks to the staff at Black Angus.
