Black Angus Steakhouse - Federal Way Ratings and Reviews
My dad just loves this place. There are couple reasons why...fisrt of all it's not expensive but they give a big portion of meals. And they taste pretty good. You should try their nachos and loaded baked potato is just perfect! If you are food critics or some blogger then forget this place but if u are average guy just like me and my dad I highly recommend it
The Thanksgiving Turkey was a bust. The size of all entries were very small including the turkey 4 small slices of light and dark meat. The Turkey was actually stiff and tasteless. We think it was cut up early and put under a warmer for a long time before it was served to us. We had to ask for more gravy and they brought little individual sample size portions. They ran out of pumpkin pie and the option was some other desert that tasted like it had been left over from the week before. The best part of the event was based on the OPEN TABLE reservation. We were seated right away and no waiting.
Well, it worked out perfectly for Thanksgiving!! The food was good, service was great! The drinks were super, too. All in all, it was ideal as we were going out of town the next day. The kitchen is still clean!! Under 200$ for four and we had an appetizer, four entrees with sides, 3 drinks, and coffee and pie for dessert. Not too bad for value- it was worth it for us.
I live in Lynnwood. I wish the Black Angus was not way down in Federal Way as it is a long way from me now, and gas is so high I can't afford to go as much as I went when it was in Lynnwood. It was great to see and talk with the waiters and waitresses we knew.
Very efficient with reservations.
Very poor waitress. After looking forward to Thanksgiving dinner for weeks, the waitress ruined the entire experience by not allowing even slight changes.
Worst of all she would not even let me get white turkey meat.
Second worst was she was unavailable for about 20 minutes during one stretch during the meal.
On the several previous occasions at this and the Burien locations have been much
The food was good. Service was excellent, though as expected, a little slow due to the high volume of customers on Thanksgiving.
The Thanksgiving turkey dinner was good, except that the pumpkin pie was too dense and seemed to lack taste.
Filet mignon was done to taste and excellent.
Staff seemed to be processing the high volume of customers quite efficiently.
Was not in the mood for turkey, grateful that Black Angus also offered prime rib, which was delicious. We always appreciate the quiet and private setting that the restaurant offers with its comfortable booths. And service is always top notch. Thank you for being open on Thanksgiving!
We were disappointed on the brochure for Veteran's Day special. It was hard to read the time table allowed for Veteran's meals. (Both of us are a veteran.) We felt it was deceptive. Some of the food we ordered was cold when we received it. Server was great. He did not keep interrupting our meal like the last one did. He kept an eye on us for when we needed something and was there when we needed him. He is an asset to Black Angus.
The steaks are best described as somewhere in between the quality of a place like Ruth's Chris or John Howie's and the value of an Applebee's. I would never recommend this place as a high end steakhouse, but it's certainly a decent value. Our steaks were juicy and good cuts of beef, though somewhat lacking in flavor. As a general rule, if a steakhouse offers steak sauce when delivering your steak, that's typically not a good sign for the flavor. The sides were unimpressive, I thought. I had the mashed potatoes (very dry and very tasteless) and the broccoli (not much you can do to broccoli). If you're looking for a quiet date spot, this isn't really it. While the decor would suggest it's a romantic restaurant, it has quite a few families with kids eating there which doesn't lend itself to a quiet atmosphere. (I have kids myself, so this isn't a criticism, I'm just stating that if I were looking to get away from the noise of loud kiddo's, this wouldn't be my first choice). The service was quite slow, honestly. Our server was pleasant and kind, but by the time she made it to our table, we had been there for almost ten minutes. By the time we received our drinks, our appetizer had come out. I heard other tables complaining about cold food. I'm not sure if they were short staffed, but something was a bit off. All in all, this place isn't at all bad. The appetizer was delicious, the white chocolate bread pudding was phenomenal, and the steaks were cooked perfectly per our request. It's a good value, especially with a coupon.
Good vibe, great food and drinks. Overwhelmed server made for a less than awesome experience. Server was overloaded and thus forgetful... Perhaps fewer tables per server at high traffic time would help. Some servers idle, some overrun.
Don't get me wrong, GREAT food and I would/will recommend the restaurant to others.
Burger was very good. Fall promo meal; deep fried shrimp nothing special; small lobster was ok; at least 1 of 3 sirloin steaks was awful. Could not cut thru, appeared to be end of the cut of meat which was fatty and like elastic. All the other food was good.
I swear the prices go up and the size of the steak & salmon keep getting smaller, I realize prices rise but the portion should stay the same. I personally would be ashamed to serve steaks/salmon the size they are serving for Lunch. on a positive note they do a great job of cooking the little guys............
