Don't bother making a reservation here. We made a res and upon arrival were told that even though we had a res, the wait would be 30-35 mins. The folks behind us who did not have a res were also quoted the same 30-35 mins. So reservations are meaningless here. We left and ate elsewhere.
Had an Open Table reservation for 6:15, wasn't seated until 7:10. Hostess tried to lie and say we were called at 6:55 (still 40 min after our reservation) when my husband asked why it was taking so long, he happened to have a drink in his hand so she told him that he must have been in the bar when they called. That would have worked, except the reservation was in my name and I had been standing about 4 feet from the hostess stand the entire time. Long wait, bad attitude from the hostess.
The food and service was excellent. The only problem was the initial seating. We were one of the first to arrive for a 4:30 reservation. We were about 15 mins early so we said we would wait in the bar. I finally went back up to the front desk at 5:25 to inquire as many people had been seated. 10 mins later they finally called for us.
This happened before on our only previous visit. Disappointing.
Made reservation for 5 plus a baby. Arrived and waited 10+ minutes to be seated at a booth for 4 people. Asked to be seated at a larger table to wait for another 10+ minutes. Watched the hostess take a party of two to a huge table in the meantime. There was plenty of seating open however they appeared to be way understaffed and the kitchen was very slow. Admittedly by the waiter he insisted he put our appetizers in and come back as he knew the kitchen was backed up. Had to ask multiple times for common items, silverware and plates, water for my kids, and for the items we asked for up front like tomato for the baby and extra sour cream. Overall it was below average and not the normal service we usually get there
Very poor for this day. Black Angus over booked for the amount of staff they had on hand. It took 1 hour from time seated to get meal. We had to have the manager take drink order that took 20 minutes to get. Then to top off the whole evening we ordered Ribeye steak and were given New York strip, which was extremely tuff and not prepared correctly. This was the worst experience I have ever encountered at this steakhouse. Normally I would highly recommend this steakhouse now my faith in them has been shaken. I truly hope this was a abnormal situation that was badly handled by upper management, the staff was lost and had no leadership on how to handle the situation
The table was not ready per our reservation for our party if 4. The service at both the reception and wait staff seemed disconnected; while so mm would see this as being left alone, it also felt like staff was overly stretched in the numbers requiring service.
So it's a mixed bag for me. I bring my team once a year to Black Angus for a variety of reasons. This year was different. A drink was spilled on one of my elder guest, bread was hard as a rock, more than one meal was "COLD". I say it that way because it was as if it came out of the refrigerator to the plate. I did see that your staff was trying but they just didn't get there. We'll be back one more time but I'm hoping that it won't be our last. Dinner out should be a positive, casual rewarding event. Not what we had. BTW, your staff are not bad people, very pleasant, they did their best . Maybe some training, refresher on policy and procedures, I don't know.
I went here with friends for Thanksgiving, they had a full meal for $20 which was a great deal. Two members of our group got it and the rest of us got steaks. The Thanksgiving meals were a very good deal and the quality was pretty good. The steaks came out at just the right temp which was great. They also were able to provide a sling for one of our friends to rest her baby carrier on.
Even though I got 3 emails and a text confirming my reservation, when we got there they said they did not have a reservation for us. I pulled out my phone and showed them my confirmation and they took us.
I would have been very upset if they had turned us away on Thanksgiving or made us wait an hour.
Went for Thanksgiving Dinner, like we have done for the last three years at Black Angus. Turkey, stuffing, gravy , pumpkin pie were great. The Yams were undercooked and hard. The broccoli was undercooked and hard too. Plus they were hugh. My arm was tired at the end of the meal from cutting the undercooked food. The others at my table said the same thing. Why did I not send it back, I am afraid to send back food, heard to many stories about getting spit on, etc. Eat there several times a year. First time I have had a Bad experience here.
l was very impressed with the fast and professional service we have and our server was excellent. I'm sorry I cant remember her name. We have been to Black Angus for 5 years at Thanksgiving. This was the best year ever. Also very easy to make reservations on line.
shame on the maitre d who walk my disabled person all around the place before they sat her down my significant other who is disabled was in pain crying how sad what a disaster you people owe me my phone number 619-755-2648 explain to me why the matrices are unconscious if you want to call me and make this right it's on you will see where you are at
I was disappointed. Everything is normally excellent. But the Thanksgiving dinner had sweet potatoes that were barely cooked, crunchy. Broccoli was under cooked. The tri-tip was ordered well done, and came medium. However, the reserved seating was on time, and the service was excellent. Thank you, Kassidy.
WE HAVE BEEN GOING TO BLACK ANGUS FOR YEARS, BUT NO MORE. THE FOOD WAS AWFULL, HAD NO DRESSSING AND THE TURKEY WAS AWFULL, CRANBERRY SAUCE WAS WATER. SWEET POTS WERE HARD AS ROCKS. WE HAS TO SIIT OUT IN THE MISSLE, WHERE WE DID NOT WANT TO SIT, AND THEY NWOULD OT MOVE US.
Black Angus puts on a great Thanksgiving turkey dinner. This is the third time my husband and I have enjoyed Thanksgiving at Black Angus.
The gentlemen taking customers' names at the front seemed a little flustered, like it was the first time he was doing the job of checking on reservations. It was slow checking in and the line was long. One customer thought she could come straight to the desk, cutting the line, because she had a reservation at that certain time. I told her "we all have reservations." She continued being rude and she refused to get back in line. I'm glad she wasn't seated anywhere near my husband and I.
Other than that, great food, great service---fast.
I came with the disabled person the maitre d walk us down to the bar area and then back up again and disappeared on us then she came back and walked us all the way to the back of the restaurant by this time my significant other was disabled was crying in pain how horrible experience how horrific how unexperienced how dumb how unconscious of the people you have seating people there a tragedy you people owe me
We had terrible service! Our waiter took ab 15 minutes to even come to our table. Another waiter came by to get us some water and bread. I asked for a glass of wine with my meal. The other waiter came and took over. Had to ask again for the wine, then he brought it halfway through the meal. Spoke with the manager and he said our waiter wasn’t feeling well. You get that, but no reason for such poor service!
I was highly disappointed. I made reservations for 1, however I was directed to the bar. Once there the service was slow at best. I had to order the 16 ounce Ribeye medium and what I got was something medium well to well done. If I go back the next time I will demand to sit in the restaurant. And I know to ask for the meat to be cooked either rare or medium-rare so that I get it the way I would like.
