Black Angus Steakhouse - Dublin Ratings and Reviews
When I went out with my now husband of 34 years, the first restaurant that we went to was to the Black Angus in Fremont.
Since then, whenever we have a special occasion, date night or even take our children and grandchildren to dinner, we always seem to end up at Black Angus.
We have always enjoyed Black Angus... just wish the sitting was more like the Black Angus used to be in Fremont...
We are never disappointed with our meals at this restaurant. At times it is overly busy, but they at least take reservations. The value is very high, because they have a lot of promotions and freebies. Their base price is reasonable and downright low compared to other fancy restaurants offering a full menu. Now, the steaks are "choice" grade and not "prime", but that's fine, I don't need all that saturated fat anyway. I like the two sides included with most meals and the great mud pie at the end. The noise level permits relaxed enjoyable conversation and avoids the shouting necessary at other busy restaurants. I have always had good to excellent service.
We chose this restaurant yo celebrate New Year’s Eve because we like the food and it is close to a major theater complex. Good food, great service and they usually get you seated on these special evenings within 10 minutes of your reservation time. It can be very busy on special occasions
Way too many people waiting that had reservations. Waitress seemed liked it was her first night - while she was pleasant, she was also clueless. The kitchen made great food! Our meals came before our salads and our drinks took over 15 minutes to get to our table. Black Angus always has great deals a good service - but this was definitely an off night.
What a wonderful evening. We recently spent 3 times as much at an expensive steakhouse and we were so disappointed. Recently we dined at Dublin Black Angus and were so pleased with our service and food preparation that we will never waste our money on that expensive steakhouse again.
We have had two very good meals at the Dublin Black Angus. In September, the service was ok, but the food was good. But this past visit, New Years eve, the server was Laurie A. and along with delicious well-prepared food, her service was perfect, making our visit so pleasant. Often the food preparation is uneven in chain restuarants, but we have had two wonderful meals here. We wil be back.
We made a reservation and still had to wait for 15 minutes before being seated. The waiter was horrible - we asked for bread and he never brought it. My food was cold so I had to send it back. I've been to this restaurant many times and have always had a good experience. Not this time.
This was Christmas eve dinner. Drinks and bread loaf were presented in a timely manner. Took a little bit longer for entries to arrive should be expected they were booked. Two of the three dinners arrived with no problem, the waiter asked the party to cut into their steaks to see if they were cooked correctly, one was good the other was supposed to be med-rare came out well done completely brown inside no pink what so ever. Waiter said he would start a new one right away, headed off to the kitchen. I guess he told a manager and he came over to the table and wanted to take the plate back sides and all saying we'll redo everything, party said I don't need everything redone just the steak. Awkward situation did the manager think this steak was going to be eaten as well? Party pushed sides on to his bread plate and the manager then took the steak back. Took some time to bring steak back cooked correctly this time the other parties were finished with their dinners. Waiter was scarce seemed pre-occupied. When the bill arrived he took off and we didn't see him for a while we needed to let him know that the bill was wrong, they wanted to charge for the returned steak dinner plate and a second charge for the upgraded sides. Not the best meal I've had here.
Black Angus has always been my favorite place BUT we had horrible service for 12/24. It took 15 minutes for a waitress to come and see us. She came with an upset attitude and said that there was a mix up and were we ready to order. We felt unwanted and rushed to order. My sisters bday is 12/26 and she asked Jessica if we could use her bday offer and the coupon for the $55 dollar meal for two. She said yes we asked again and she said yes . She said i just need to write the codes down. So we ordered. Our meal came out slowly and without a smile. My niece asked for ketchup twice nothing. I had to get up and go to a table to get a ketchup that was empty. My niece stopped a manager dead in her tracks to ask her for ketchup. The bill came and she had not taken the bday coupon off. I asked her and she said she forgot. She came back to say cannot use both coupons at the same time. When that was the first thing we asked her and reiterated to her and she said yes. I was about to explode but since it was Christmas eve and i was with the family i bit my tongue. she ended up using my sisters coupon for her bday and not the coupon for two to give us at least a $10 savings. I was very close in not giving her a tip at all but I did. Honestly this experience has made me not want to go back. Jessica should have told her manager she had already promised us both coupons but she didn't. She had an attitude and calmed down a bit but never apologized. Bad experience at Dublin. very very very disappointed. my email is firstname.lastname@example.org. I would greatly appreciate some feedback from you about what I took the time to share. Thank you I wait to hear from you.
Service was incredibly slow. The presentation of the food was lazy at best. Dinner for 3 with no drinks 107.00 seemed a bit high for the quality of the food and the service. I’ll also say, I’m put off by my waiter when they look dirty with greasy hair...just kinda gross!!! No need to go back here....EVER! But otherwise it was greeeaaaat!
Steak was good for the price but not great. Sides were mediocre. Wine list, while relatively inexpensive, needs more variety and a better selection. Our waitress was absolutely excellent and the busboys were prompt to remove empty plates after the starters.
