Black Angus Steakhouse - Citrus Heights Ratings and Reviews
Always good food, good service you can count on. Steaks always done to your perfection. Love the side dishes and artichoke or stuffed mushroom appetizers. Only reason 4 instead of 5 Stars was that the four lobster tails we had were very, very salty. We had to really drown them in extra lemon juice. We’ve eaten there dozens of times through the years and our first complaint.
This was our first visit to Black Angus. We were in the mood for steak and we had a coupon for a dinner special. We thought the atmosphere was OK but a little dated. They had several TVs with sporting events ala a sports bar. We ordered the rib-eye with sides of potato au gratin(which was wonderful), a fully loaded baked, a salad big enough for two and a mud pie for desert; all of which was $45 for two of us. Unfortunately the 12 oz. steak consisted of 6 oz. of gristle and fat and we paid $3 extra for that cut. Bottom line, I wouldn't recomend this restaurant if you are looking for a quality steak.
My disappointment...we ordered asparagus and Brussel sprouts to go...these cost $4.99 each
After leaving the restaurant we looked at these items and were absolutely shocked. There were 5 to 6 asparagus spears, and about 8 brussel sprouts. I think the price / quantity for these items is outrageous. I love Black Angus, delicious food, our lunch was yummy...but this situation of over charging / quantity is really bothering me...I wish I had taken a photo. Had the portion size been more substantial I wouldn’t be bothered by the price.
Not much to tell. We do not go to Black Angus very often and now I know why. We simply did not enjoy our meal at all. My husband had the mac & cheese as a side and it actually came out barely warm and looked very unappealing. it looked like it had been set out way too long. It tasted just as it looked. Mac and Cheese should come out warm and creamy looking. The rest of the meal was pretty much the same mediocre at best.
VERY busy restaurant. Even with reservations, we had to wait a while to be seated. Walk-ins were wait-listed for a 45-60 minute wait for a table. Love the booths, which help keep the noise level down. Dessert options rather limited. Food is good, prepared correctly, and priced right. Attentive wait staff. Definitely worth driving over now and then for a treat.
I made reservations online and we were seated promptly. Everything was good. Our waiter was distracted quite a bit. We had to ask multiple times for 2 different things. But all in all it was a positive experience.
Our steaks were cooked perfectly as ordered.
This was my girlfriend's first trip for the ribs. Great as usual. We took home more than we could eat at dinner but that is normal since the portions are very large. We started the meal with a Cesar salad. It's large enough to share so we ask for an extra plate. They actually gave us two salads just slightly smaller than the one we expected to share. What a nice surprise.
It was our first time at Black Angus and we went at 3:15pm on a Sunday to celebrate my son's birthday. We had a reservation and still waited 15-20 minutes to be seated. The restaurant smelled like dirty carpet or something. Our waitress was nice and took note of why we were there.
After ordering we waited about an hour for our food. My son ordered steak and fries and mashed potatoes, and the potatoes were cold. I ordered a steak Cobb salad which didn't arrive for 10+ minutes after the rest of the table was served. My steak was dry, and I ordered it medium rare. The salad was over dressed.
Dessert was chocolate orange cake that was over sweet and not really anything special.
I don't know if I would return to pay this amount of money again.
Kind of a disappointment.
WE usually dine out at Black Angus every month when we receive online promotions . The problem with this you can not use Bonus Bucks towards your meal even though it says treat this voucher like cash . well that cash is like Bitcoin its in your imagination. I spent over $200 to get the bonus bucks by buying four $50 gift cards I got back $40 of Bonus Bucks that can not be used at the same time on any promo deal. Change the name to ""Bonus Sucks , because I will not be duped into buying anymore of the special promos for gift cards.
I brought this up with Aaron the acting manager he said he would meet me half way $20 of the$40, well that makes me half satisfied , but at the end of the day I came there with intention to use my Bonus Bucks towards the meal. Management is there to insure complete customer satisfaction , not half satisfied customers. If you are going to start down the road of issue resolution don,t stop half way down , and tell your customers , You have to drive the rest of the way.
Unfortunately , that will be it for that particular Black Angus , unless the management is willing to get back on Resolution Road and complete the trip were they dropped me and my family off .
Regards , Mark Carter
Black Angus has been around for years, and still provides a quality meal for those who have an appetite. The food was excellent - steak was blood rare - just to our preference. The side dishes were awesome. The server was a bit distracted with, I believe, too many tables to serve at dinner time. She was pleasant, and was helpful when making our selections.
This was the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. Some of my friends were eating there for the first time. Our service was horrible. VERY slow and our waitress seemed very distracted. She kept apologizing for various mistakes.
My husband and I eat at this restaurant frequently as does one of the other couples. We LOVE THE BLACK ANGUS. Food is of high quality and service is beyond reproach. I don't know where the problem was. Kitchen? wait staff?
The manager came to our table (at our request) and politely listened to our complaints and came back in a few minutes and picked up the tab for all 6 of our lunches.
Thank you for taking care of our problem. We all vowed to be back. Your prime rib is my favorite. A miserable experience was handled in a very professional manner and I really appreciate it as I was the one that recommended we have our lunch ther.
The restaurant was clean and nice. I ordered a medium rare prime rib and it was RED, so I would suggest ordering med or well if you don't like it red. Everyone else's food was great. My grand daughter ordered grilled artichoke and it was great. And the chocolate cake was to die for. Very nice ambiance, and our waitress was great.
We ordered the Feast. We had a coupon and with a coupon it was probably worth the value. But I would not order it for $59. The salmon was small and very dry. The prime rib was cut extremely thin and not the 8 oz. I was expecting. I would probably try chicken or the New York steak next time. Other than that, ambiance and service was great.
I have already reviewed Black Angus many times. A group of 6 of us had reservations for a 5:30 dinner on New Year's Eve. We were seated timely. There was a large crowd. Service was good and the wait staff was attentive. We shared the Feast coupons, which gave us a discount. We all liked our entrees. The steaks and salmon were all cooked as we wanted. I didn't really like the vinagrette on my salad. We enjoyed our cocktails. We are all Black Angus fans. They seem to be pretty consistent with food quality and service.
Unlike previous visits this one was most disappointing. Went early in the evening to celebrate New Year’s Eve before restaurant was busy. Shortly after ordering another waiter dropped off our appetizer, fried zucchini, and they were lukewarm. When our waitress came back we ordered a different appetizer which came back as ordered. Then when the main course came one of the entrées was good but the other was not hot. Was given credit on bill for it and given a replacement to take home. Dessert was good. All of our concerns were addressed. We will return, however, if this was out first visit there we would not go back.
