Black Angus Steakhouse - Citrus Heights Ratings and Reviews
For the first time in decades of attending Black Angus in Citrus Heights, CA, we have had 2 disappointing steak dinners in a row this November, 2017.
Both times we ordered the trio special, and the steak was tough. The Caesar salad was not as crispy fresh as usual. The green beans were good but a skimpy amount. We were dining on the 8th and the 15th with friends.
We love BA and highly recommend it to our friends. We love the privacy of the booths which allow one to hear each other while visiting together. Staff is always friendly and accommodating. Service is usually very good.

Our dinner was good, but my dad had to return his steak as it was very tough. However, his second one was delicious. With our dessert, we ordered coffee which was lukewarm and they never came back to ask us how it was. Also, the waitress conveniently entered the wrong amount on our credit cards and basically gave herself an extra $4 tip even though she confirmed with us what the amount should be. We won’t going back to this restaurant for quite a while.
Our Entree's were Just perfect. My Steak was cooked beautifully and the prime rib was just as we wanted it!! our server was delightful and so sweet. the hostess was charming and took care of us the moment we arrived. Thank you for a wonderful birthday experience
I have been going to Black Angus for many years and this was the first time that I have been disappointed with my food. My son and I both ordered prime rib and a large lobster tail. We were actually served 2 small lobster tails. One of mine was extremely small and mushy. When I asked the server why were we served 2 lobster tails instead of one large one she stated that they had ran out of the large tails. I would have appreciated a heads up before I was served the 2 small lobster tails, therefore I could have changed my order at that time.
One of my favorite restaurants! I first fell in love with Black Angus when I tried their baked potato soup on a cold, rainy day in Fresno while out of town on business. It was like a warm hug! I continue to rate everyone else's potato soup against Black Angus' standard! We were here on Thursday to get my free birthday meal - what a great offer! My tri-tip was delicious, though a tad undercooked on one end; I just took that part home and ate it later. Two of my companions ordered the $20 Fall Feast. They loved the shrimp and lobster, but both said their steaks (medium) were overcooked; neither told our server, though. The green beans with bacon were delicious, too. I ordered the chocolate cake for the four of us to share, and our server also brought me a birthday cookie & ice cream! She said her gift to me was NOT to bring everyone over to sing, and I was fine with that! All in all, it was a delicious meal, and we all had a good time.
Everything was great until we both went to the bathrooms. We were disgusted with the dirtiness of the bathrooms. In the men’s room the toilet seat was very dirty underneath. My wife was so put out by the ladies room that she took the manager in there and showed it to him. He promised that it would be taken care of. My wife stated that he should hire someone to go in and thoroughly clean the bathrooms from top to bottom, then the restaurant staff could do it. It is crucial for restrooms to stay clean in order to add to good impressions. There is nothing worse than dirty bathrooms in a restaurant or anywhere for that matter.
We were very disappointed in our service. We had 4:45 reservations and we did not get our check until 2-1/2 hrs. after we were seated. It was almost like we had been forgotten or if we asked for something it took forever to get it or it was simply forgotten. This is our second instance where we had poor service. Not sure we will be going back anytime soon..used to be our favorite to go to place for lunch and dinner.
I took my 15 yr old grandson & 14 yr old granddaughter out to dinner. We did the dinner for two ($58 but then the following day, I received an email for a special for the same dinner for two for only $44---much better price) and also my grandson ordered a separate dinner. My grandson had an icetea and my granddaughter and I had water and our total bill (without tip) was : $97.46. We didn't order anything fancy but New York steaks. It was all fixed to perfection. The dinner for two included an appetizer and also a desert. We were full before our main meal arrived (pre-salads were also very well done). I just felt $97.46 for myself and my two grandchildren ... and then a $20 tip was pricey for Black Angus....and no drinks but ice tea. However, I have to again say the food was good and the bread before the meal is also the BOMB!!!
My only negative -- unless you consider me saying 'pricey' as being a negative was that we were sat right next to (staring at) the area they fill water glasses and looks like a storage area for glasses and other things...not really pleasant looking to just stare out considering we were eating a $100 meal....that part felt like we were at Denny's. (sorry but it really was tacky)
Had the Campfire feast, great value. My partner and I both tried New York steaks as we normally have top sirloin. Very disappointed. Steaks were cut thin and when manager came by, he explained that they were difficult to cook as ordered because of the way they were cut. One was ordered medium and one ordered medium rare. Both came medium well to well done. Flavor was ok, so we kept them. We will be back, however will ask about cut in the future.
Been to this Black Angus many times but this time to redeem a Birthday coupon that I received earlier this month and got $20.99 off dinner for two. Quite a good deal I'd say and the food is always fresh and tasty. Our server was Brittany and she was attentive and very friendly. Will definitely go back the next time we are in the area since there is no BA in Reno, where I live.
Had a double date with my boyfriend and our best friend and her husband. We had a blast and really enjoyed ourselves. We were dressed to the nine's for an event later that night that let us down, so this dinner was the highlight by far. We had good conversation, strong drinks, and delicious food. It's sparked a new tradition for us of monthly double date nights.
we had a little issue with the food. The meal was a trio of meats. only received 2 of items 1 was over cooked sent back. then told Manager we were missing the lobster received that then the steal came back. My Wife only had 1 item at a time so no that well received by her on her 60th Birthday.
