Black Angus Steakhouse - Citrus Heights Ratings and Reviews
We used to go here because the seating in the taller booths in the back of the restaurant were nice and quiet so we could talk to each other plus the food was good. The last couple of times we have been there we can't seem to get seated where we like even though we make reservations and ask for it. They try putting us in the bar, near the kitchen, or up front somewhere. Plus the food has changed - filets are not as tender, the shrimp used to be large and cut in a butterfly style but now they are small. The fried zucchini with the cucumber sauce is still great and the main reason we keep returning. The food is good but less worth the cost than it used to be. Having a coupon helps the cost. We try going back to see if things change back toward the better but since it doesn't we have gone there less and less each year.
We came to treat a group that helped us move to a new rental home. We were seated in a corner booth, quite snug for 7 adults. Food was good, a bit slow on service, our waitress had many tables. Misquoted on price of sampler appetizer. $12 then $16.99. We purchased two samplers anyway. Weren't told addtl $1 on caesar salads. All in all is was an ok experience. Spent close to $250. Not sure it was quite worth it.
We were very disappointed because your web site touts a free steak on your birthday. Jesse joined Prime Club, There were signs of no coupon needed for cookie dessert or steak. We got to the restaurant and they said a coupon was needed. We explained it was his birthday and they said, the coupon would be good for the 'next' birthday - 2018. In the mail the next morning there was a coupon for the steak to be used no later than 1/5/2018!! Well, we already bought the steak and since Jesse attends college, it is unlikely we will get him in to you before the deadline. We feel cheated.
My only complaint is I made reservations and still waited 30 minutes. In there defense it was Thanksgiving. I just thought the ladies at the hostess station could have been a little better at customer service. Overall it was really good food and the waiters and waitresses were amazing!
We were there for Thanksgiving/Avvniversary. Very busy. Our waitress was friendly.
Could have have a little more food. Our salads had no carrot or cabbage as usual. Their salads are usually the best!!!
But it was Thanksgiving and we were lucky to get a reservation!!
We have been eating here over 40 years and will be back.
The food was good. We had reservations but still had to wait. The salad was just lettuce and dressing. Disappointing! Very crowded and service was not up to normal, however we got our food quickly. Bread and silverware were not quick. We did get bread but had to wait for silverware and had to ask for bread plates.
Had our Thanksgiving dinner at the Black Angus. Had a 15 minute wait from our reservation time, but so did everyone else. The place was packed. We had a nice quiet table and a server who was very nice and friendly. Our turkey dinner was good, but looked like it had been kept warm in an oven (gravy was congealed). Our dinner was just barely warm in spots and when we mentioned it to the server, the chef came to our table and took the plates and brought new about 5 minutes later (which were better). The pumpkin pie was not good. Tasted like it had been previously frozen and thawed. The dinner wasn't grandma's, but it was good.
We made reservations for Thanksgiving. We were seated after only waiting a few minutes. The food was outstanding, but the service was even better. Very often while dining out on a busy holiday I've seen staff look frazzled and unhappy. These staff members were happy and attentive despite having other customers complaining about the wait. They made me feel like they were happy to be there serving us. It was a wonderful experience and I will do it again. Thank you for such a nice holiday, Black Angus!!!
I went for Thanksgiving lunch. I waited 15 - 20 minutes before I even saw my server. No water or anything. The server was abrupt and took my order. Water and bread were brought to me and then another 15 min before my dinner salad came. After I was through with my salad another 20 - 25 min and no entree in sight. Other tables with another server were seated after me and were through with their entire meal by the time my server noticed I hadn't received my dinner. I told her that I had been seated at the wrong table and with the wrong server apparently. Within minutes the manager brought out my hot food! Great food but poor service!
For the first time in decades of attending Black Angus in Citrus Heights, CA, we have had 2 disappointing steak dinners in a row this November, 2017.
Both times we ordered the trio special, and the steak was tough. The Caesar salad was not as crispy fresh as usual. The green beans were good but a skimpy amount. We were dining on the 8th and the 15th with friends.
We love BA and highly recommend it to our friends. We love the privacy of the booths which allow one to hear each other while visiting together. Staff is always friendly and accommodating. Service is usually very good.
I appreciate your effort to have good quality control by requesting a review.
Our dinner was good, but my dad had to return his steak as it was very tough. However, his second one was delicious. With our dessert, we ordered coffee which was lukewarm and they never came back to ask us how it was. Also, the waitress conveniently entered the wrong amount on our credit cards and basically gave herself an extra $4 tip even though she confirmed with us what the amount should be. We won’t going back to this restaurant for quite a while.
Our Entree's were Just perfect. My Steak was cooked beautifully and the prime rib was just as we wanted it!! our server was delightful and so sweet. the hostess was charming and took care of us the moment we arrived. Thank you for a wonderful birthday experience
I have been going to Black Angus for many years and this was the first time that I have been disappointed with my food. My son and I both ordered prime rib and a large lobster tail. We were actually served 2 small lobster tails. One of mine was extremely small and mushy. When I asked the server why were we served 2 lobster tails instead of one large one she stated that they had ran out of the large tails. I would have appreciated a heads up before I was served the 2 small lobster tails, therefore I could have changed my order at that time.
One of my favorite restaurants! I first fell in love with Black Angus when I tried their baked potato soup on a cold, rainy day in Fresno while out of town on business. It was like a warm hug! I continue to rate everyone else's potato soup against Black Angus' standard! We were here on Thursday to get my free birthday meal - what a great offer! My tri-tip was delicious, though a tad undercooked on one end; I just took that part home and ate it later. Two of my companions ordered the $20 Fall Feast. They loved the shrimp and lobster, but both said their steaks (medium) were overcooked; neither told our server, though. The green beans with bacon were delicious, too. I ordered the chocolate cake for the four of us to share, and our server also brought me a birthday cookie & ice cream! She said her gift to me was NOT to bring everyone over to sing, and I was fine with that! All in all, it was a delicious meal, and we all had a good time.
Everything was great until we both went to the bathrooms. We were disgusted with the dirtiness of the bathrooms. In the men’s room the toilet seat was very dirty underneath. My wife was so put out by the ladies room that she took the manager in there and showed it to him. He promised that it would be taken care of. My wife stated that he should hire someone to go in and thoroughly clean the bathrooms from top to bottom, then the restaurant staff could do it. It is crucial for restrooms to stay clean in order to add to good impressions. There is nothing worse than dirty bathrooms in a restaurant or anywhere for that matter.
