We made reservations for three for thanksgiving dinner. I was impressed with the food. The dressing was better than mine and I love mine. Service was outstanding. I have never eaten out for a holiday, but I will do so again.

Thanksgiving at Black Angus. I received a mailer to my home stating the Thanksgiving meal offered by Black Angus. I opted for it because the restaurant was good and it was close to my home. Online reservations made, I was all set. On Thanksgiving, the first thing I noticed was that the parking lot was full. Then as my date and I walked around the front of the building I saw that there was a large abundance of people standing outside. At that point of time I did not know why, but the answer was going to be apparent very quickly. Standing in line we made it to the hostess stand and we were informed that it was going to be a 25 minute wait. We informed the host that we would be in the bar and to notify us when our table was ready. The disorganization that caused the delay was not uncommon on a busy day, I could deal with that.
In the bar, we noted that a series of table were marked “Reserved”. We found a table towards the back of the bar. There was no sign on the table. We took a seat and waited for our server. We noticed others eating their meals at the half of the tables that were occupied. Knowing that our meal was a minimum of 25 minutes away we decided to ask the server if we could stay at this table and order our meal. Our server was female with dirty blond hair and an inverted ponytail, where her hair fell over that made her look as if she had Minnie Mouse ears.
Our server informed us that the tables in the bar area were set aside for the overflow of customers and that it would not be possible to accommodate us with our new-found seating arrangement. We asked her to ask the host if we could eat at this table instead of waiting as it was not our fault that the restaurant had overbooked its capacity. She stated that she would get in trouble if she did that. I informed her, better you get in trouble instead of me! Our server was still not compliant with our request. Restaurant did not honor our reservation. Our reservation was for a party of 2 at 1:15pm on 11/23/17, we checked in 10 minutes early at 1:05pm. The manager/host did not mention that there would be any kind of a wait. By 1:30pm, 15 minutes after our reservation, I inquired about our reservation only to then be told that there was a 30-35 minute wait. At 1:50 pm, 35 minutes after the time of our reservation, they were ready to seat us. We had requested a particular food server and that was included in the information in the reservation I had made weeks prior through Open Table. When I asked the manager/host if we were going to have our requested server, Philippe, he said that if we wanted that server we would need to wait another 1 to 1 1/2 hours! Unbelieveable. So we were sat at another food server's table who provided what in my experience of restaurant dining had to be the worst service in my life. 20 minutes before we were even greeted. Then another 20 minutes before we were brought bread to our table which should be brought to the table when the server first greets you. Then another 20 minutes before we had our drinks delivered. Then, yes indeed, yet another 20 minutes before we had our meal order taken. It was a warm day in Chula Vista that day, 87 degrees, but the restaurant management saw fit to not turn on the air conditioner despite the restaurant being filled to capacity with people. The environment was hot and very uncomfortable. By this time I and my guest just wanted to get out of there so we asked for boxes to wrap up our remaining food which, of course took yet another 20 minutes and then of course still another 20 minutes to have our bill tendered.

What was supposed to be an enjoyable day of dining turned instead to a frustrating and upsetting, negative experience. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone who wishes to have an enjoyable dining experience. I wish I had gone elsewhere.

Consistently have good meals at this location. I've never had a bad dining experience here. I've dined at most of the steak places in town, and I seem to enjoy Black Angus the most. It's a great value.

I and my dinner party were very disappointed with the skimpy amounts of food served for the Thanksgiving Day dinner special, especially for the food elements considered to be relatively inexpensive such as dressing, turkey gravy and cranberry sauce. The meat soup offering on the Thanksgiving Day menu, however, was especially tasty. There was nothing memorable about the other food elements.

Lots of food for the money especially with a coupon. Cocktails slow to arrive but worth the wait. Salad and entree arrived at close to the same time.

The tri-tip and prime rib were pretty good, the “creamy” mashed potatoes were anything but. They were a luke warm clump, that couldn’t even melt the butter., on both our plates. The service was extremely slow, but it was pretty busy, however slow service seems to be the norm at this location. I’m not sure why we keep going back, except for the coupon specials.

This place has seen better days. It’s not like it used to be. Wish it still had character but overall the food is good and still good for a casual family dinner if your craving a basic steak.

I have always had a wonderful steak experience but this time the steak was as tough as they come. The waitress was apologetic, returned the first steak because as she said, she could see that it was difficult to cut through. The second was just as tough. I was very disappointed this time.

Great place to meet up with friends, go on a date. My husband and I went on a double date with friends. We had reservations. The hostess at the entrance is not very friendly. Did not smile or welcome us. We said we had reservations and if we could be seated while we waited for our friends. She told us no. That we will be seated when she called our name. However, our waitress was very professional, patient, kind and was great! We all four ordered drinks from the bar and they were perfect. To eat we all four ordered the Trio Feast and it was delicious. The atmosphere was dim and quiet. Perfect setting for a double date. Everything was perfect except the front entrance hostess.

The restaurant was quite busy and everything about our experience was delayed. Despite having a reservation we were seated rather late - if a member of our party hadn't reminded the hostess that we'd been waiting approximately 30 minutes we would have continued to be overlooked. After placing our order our food arrived well over an hour after we'd been seated, and this was a ridiculous amount of time for our 3-year-old to have to wait. To exacerbate things, one order was totally incorrect; that diner chose not to reorder since it was already way past her child's bedtime. The food server did her best to compensate by providing a nice birthday dessert for our party, but it was too little too late. Had this been our first experience at this restaurant we would never dine there again.

Absolutely not ever returning to this restaurant. No acknowledgement when we arrived, hello, etc. Told the hostess I had a reservation and was told to wait!
Server had absolutely no regard for customers, every employee looked absolutely miserable, no smiles whatsoever.
I told the server it was our first time coming expecting recommendations...I got nothing from her except oh ok. I had my 2 year old son with me and he was not even acknowledged, which people with children most definitely notice. I ordered my son a kids meal that came with a hot fudge sundae and sprinkles, it had 4 sprinkles! My steak was ordered WELL done, it was pink. After having it up on my fork for 11 minutes waiting to see the waitress again, she returns and I tell her that this isn't well done. She says "well do you want me to go cook it more?" Absolutely not do I. She then told me well I came back immediately after serving your food and you said nothing. I hadn't even cut into my steak yet. So no I will not return nor recommend this restaurant ever.

I went here on a date with my new girlfriend. It was a nice atmosphere and pretty quiet. It was great that we could have a conversation during our meal. We both had the top sirloin with lobster tail. She had a Caesar and I had the Wedge salad. We both enjoyed our meals. However, later in the evening she did comment to me that the meat was tough (overcooked). She should have mentioned that to the waiter while we were eating to make any necessary improvements. Overall, a pretty nice meal for a great price. The server was very attentive and friendly!

This is our usual place to go when we feel like a steak. Usually, the steaks are cooked as ordered but this time one of our party ordered medium and his steak was practically burnt. Service is friendly but the waitress could have been more observant in noticing the burnt steak... Our guest was a bit embarrassed to call attention to it!
