Black Angus Steakhouse - Chandler Ratings and Reviews
We had the surf 'n'turf with steak, lobster, and shrimp. The dinner was delicious and cooked just to our liking and the service was friendly, timely, and they even brought my mother-in-law a birthday cookie/ice cream surprise dessert with candle. Very sweet of them. Quite an enjoyable evening.
We dine regularly at the Black Angus in Chandler, Arizona simply because the service is always top notch and the food is consistently excellent. We also take advantage of the frequent specials that are usually incredible values.
I would recommend using the Open Table site to secure your time to dine. Saturday night we were able to seat the minute we walked in.
Good job Open Table and Black Angus !
While the food was delicious, the manager was on the phone when we came in and nobody greeted us or sat us for a while. He just kept talking on the phone. Finally a waitress came and got us. We sat outside because it was beautiful weather and it was great until a family came along and sat out there. They proceeded to let their six and nine-year-old boys play cartoons on their cell phone very loudly during the entire dinner. No one at the restaurant told them they needed to turn it down or turn it off so that other people around don’t have to listen to it. We were there during happy hour and ordered two glasses of wine, we tried to get refills before happy hour ended and the waitress forgot and then came back and told us they were out of that wine so we selected another one and they were out of that as well. When we chose a third selection that they had, it was 7:05 PM and she said she couldn’t give us the happy hour price. We had to ask for a manager to get it okayed since we had ordered it about 15 minutes earlier and proceeded with her forgetting and then being out of the selections. We shouldn’t have even had to ask for that. The manager okayed it but seemed irritated and did not apologize either. It was not the best ambience .
The food is usually very good. This time it looked like the Lobster exploded in the shell thus I goy very little Lobster. Could tell by the bits and pieces on the shell something happened. The baked potato was not heated through. The broccoli was cut in large pieces. Again, I don’t usually have a problem with the food. My friend’s plate was nicely arranged. I will return and hope this does not happen again.
Great menu options. The Campfire Dinner for Two is a wonderful option, especially if you have a coupon. My husband loved the salmon. I always have the filet mignon. It is too die for. We used to go there for special occasions only, but it has become a regular dining option for us.
As with most eating establishments there are times when you order a steak and even if it is cooked to perfection the cut of the beef or quality falls short. Unfortunately that is what happened with this visit as well as issues with other food items. Do know however that they will correct the problem as long as you address it. I will continue to visit and enjoy steaks at this establishments because they are very good and offer some great values. Be sure to take advantage of their coupons for even better discounts.
Why are you reducing the quality of your steaks? I have been a faithful diner for the past 35 years in Scottsdale, Tempe and Chandler. I have kept detail records on my computer program, Quicken, and have logged 73 visits and spent $4,264 at Black Angus. On my last 2 visits, I have been really disappointed in the quality of steaks. I had intended to order the special steak, lobster and shrimp but was told that I could not upgrade the steak to a filet. I ordered the filet and shrimp and my filet had a large piece of fat and gristle in it. I usually don't complain to the server because they may have offered me another cut but then it would disturb our guests at the table and I wouldn't be able to eat at the same time.
I will come back to Black Angus but may have to forget about my favorite steaks and eat hamburger or other selections. We enjoy the ambiance and you are one of the only restaurants where you can have a normal conversation with guests.
A disappointed customer,
Very disappointing experience. We have eaten here before however this time we were seated in a corner where our server seemed to forget about us. My drink had to be remade 3 times & even then it was very watered down. It was leterally 1/2 of a martini. Food was just ok. It was our universality & not even acknowledged, since they didn't even read our reservation on Open Table.
Not sure we will come back.
We were visiting Arizona and discovered a Black Angus Restaurant. We no longer have these restaurants in our area at home. We both loved them when they were in our state, so decided to visit for dinner. We were both disappointed in the steaks. They were over cooked, and smaller then we expected. The salad was very good and was presented on a cold plate. The vegetables and bread was also very good. Service was OK.
As on previous occasions, the food was excellent, the add-on lobster tail very good, generous portions, great "special" price for dinner for two. Our waiter, Chance, was outstanding, very efficient, personable, knowledgeable---did a great job. Greeters and hostess very friendly. I would hope the restaurant begins to offer a Riesling wine soon. The inside needs some sprucing up re. decor (too drab) but that does not stop our regular dining there.
We came to celebrate my mother in-law Biiiiiiirthday she passed on so my wife and I thought we would do something survival on her mom's Birthday every year and so the things she loved was dining out and the casino so every year now we would do both those things to honor her Mom and my Mother in-law on August 5th
Nice comeback by chain who was on top then declined and now definitely on way
back up to one of better places without getting into the big $$. We've been going their steadily
meals if you sign up for for three years, good menu if you are a beef eater; great value meals
if you sign up for their frequent eater club and specials.
We'll be back every three weeks, sometimes sooner.
