Black Angus Steakhouse - Chandler Ratings and Reviews
Bartender in very casual wear. She served customers with her cell phone in her ear. We took out drinks out to the patio got locked out she saw us waving looked away then opener the door..we said thank you she said nothing. I told the manager that she seemed to have bad attitude and he said no she doesn't I must be mistaken! He didn't even care to ask why I said that.
Went for the Thanksgiving special...it was awful! Two small broccoli stems that were cold, 3 small sweet potato cubes, 2 slices turkey, with minimal gravy, mashed potatoes with a teaspoon of gravy on it, pumpkin pie dry, with cream that was like milk. I am hoping it was just location, since we normally go to Glendale.
We always have a pleasant late dinner there on birthday's, and sometimes on Holiday's too. We usually request a waitress named Chris there when we go, because she takes good care of us. Dinner is served in a timely manner, and drink's are refilled as needed. We tip her well, because of the great service that she give's to us.
We were two parties of four. It wasn't possible for us to sit at one table. There seems to be a limited amount of space for larger parties. Last year we had a booth for six, which was very nice. Both years, the food and service were excellent. Handled a full restaurant for Thanksgiving meal with cheerful and timely service.
We had the surf 'n'turf with steak, lobster, and shrimp. The dinner was delicious and cooked just to our liking and the service was friendly, timely, and they even brought my mother-in-law a birthday cookie/ice cream surprise dessert with candle. Very sweet of them. Quite an enjoyable evening.
We dine regularly at the Black Angus in Chandler, Arizona simply because the service is always top notch and the food is consistently excellent. We also take advantage of the frequent specials that are usually incredible values.
I would recommend using the Open Table site to secure your time to dine. Saturday night we were able to seat the minute we walked in.
Good job Open Table and Black Angus !
While the food was delicious, the manager was on the phone when we came in and nobody greeted us or sat us for a while. He just kept talking on the phone. Finally a waitress came and got us. We sat outside because it was beautiful weather and it was great until a family came along and sat out there. They proceeded to let their six and nine-year-old boys play cartoons on their cell phone very loudly during the entire dinner. No one at the restaurant told them they needed to turn it down or turn it off so that other people around don’t have to listen to it. We were there during happy hour and ordered two glasses of wine, we tried to get refills before happy hour ended and the waitress forgot and then came back and told us they were out of that wine so we selected another one and they were out of that as well. When we chose a third selection that they had, it was 7:05 PM and she said she couldn’t give us the happy hour price. We had to ask for a manager to get it okayed since we had ordered it about 15 minutes earlier and proceeded with her forgetting and then being out of the selections. We shouldn’t have even had to ask for that. The manager okayed it but seemed irritated and did not apologize either. It was not the best ambience .
The food is usually very good. This time it looked like the Lobster exploded in the shell thus I goy very little Lobster. Could tell by the bits and pieces on the shell something happened. The baked potato was not heated through. The broccoli was cut in large pieces. Again, I don’t usually have a problem with the food. My friend’s plate was nicely arranged. I will return and hope this does not happen again.
