Black Angus Steakhouse - Blossom Hill Ratings and Reviews
Seated in back booth, per our request. Server was very patient with our slow eating patterns and at the ready to serve more bread, etc, when asked. Each of us enjoyed all the food served. The problem was at the outset when I told the server it was the young guest's birthday and would there be a wonderful cookie served. She said it was no longer being done and there were no complimentary birthday desserts. So we ordered three desserts, incl the birthday girl's, and were charged for each one.
May I please have management response to this. Other very recent reviews spoke of comped desserts.
We've dined at the Blossom Hill location at least 5 times a year for the last 10 years and our experience on 12/2/2017 was the worst by far. The server was great however the food took over an 1 hr to arrive and was over cooked & cold when it did. Other customers also experienced the same delays and complained to management. We don't plan to return anytime soon.
Our server this evening was very good and attentive. Two of the four of us dining received salads which really should not have been served. The lettuce was fairly wet - with water visible on the leaves, and many leaves were brown and old. Our server offered to replace the salads but we declined. Black Angus used to be very predictable with ice cold salad plates and forks which were appreciated, but it seems that practice has fallen to the wayside.
I will look forward to the day when BA updates their dining area and bar- booths are looking a little worse for wear.
This is our favorite place to celebrate birthdays, the free cowboy cookie is always a hit. We were a party of 5 with variety of dietary needs and everyone left full and happy. We had filet mignon, chicken breast, jumbo shrimp and a tri-tip salad as well as the usual sides. All food tasted good and was prepared as ordered. The booth was a little tight with 5 adults, but the party opposite faced the same dilemma.
This is an excellent restaurant for the odd special occasion and steak dinner. The menu is good with a reasonable variety of choice. The deserts are fantastic as are several of the apatizers. The steaks are excellent and I would strongly recommend this venue to all.
The Thanksgiving Dinner special was anything but special. I ordered "dark" meat turkey and received nothing but table scraps. And to top it all off, the pumpkin pie dessert was served to us frozen, it was as hard as a rock.
First they forgot about my salad, I had to ask.
Second I returned the bar drink, no flavor.
Third they forgot my soda.
Fourth the food was bland, minimal portion, no thought into it, something I would expect from Denny’s.
Fifth The desert was frozen.
Overall horrible experience, so disappointed, what a waste of money!
We where there for a Thanksgiving meal and were not disappointed . Our server was great (forgot his name) but a pleasant experiance , however sorry not have any left overs to take home :0)
Could have had a bit more cranberry sauce it looked like it was an after thought to put on plate or not .
The overall quality of the food has declined the last few times we have dined here. This was especially so during our most recent dining experience in Nov. 2017. I called a couple of days later and spoke to Chris the manager to inform him of our disappointment. He apologized but made no effort to reconcile. This concerned me because we had had pleasant memories of dining at this establishment in the past. I will definitely think twice before going there again.
I ordered an end cut of Prime rib. The wait staff asked how I wanted it done. Now most places that I've been to, really can't get it much less than medium. I was served a slice from the middle of the roast and it was rare. Had to find someone to refill coffee. I probably won't be going back.
Made a reservation for 5, however there were 6 of us. We were informed by the host, that it would take over an hour to accommodate us since we had an extra guest. 3 guests decided to leave and go to another restaurant. They made the right choice. It took over 45 minutes after ordering for our food to arrive. When it finally arrived, the prime rib was icy cold. We asked our server to return it to be reheated, but for an unexplained reason, she said she had to get a manager to do this. Took another 30 minutes for the Prime Rib to return...luke warm. The manager comp'd the 2 orders of prime rib. I would have preferred (and would have been glad to pay) to have had received good food and service. Do not recommend going there on a weekend. They are not capable of providing good food and service when busy. Much better on a slow night at the bar...
Had reservation but, restaurant wasn't ready. Waited in bar for 20 minutes. Got seated and service was slow. We finally got our food 1 hr after ordering, at one point we looked around and 7-9 tables near by were ALL just waiting for service or food. This place is really in need of management, you can tell the staff wants to help but, they have no systems/proceedures in place. I've been to other Black Angus and they were good. This one is lousy--clearly it is the lack or competent management.
Won't be back
We love Black Angus and go there quite often, however, this time was a tiny bit disappointing. We asked for water 3 times and finally got some after we asked the manager when he went by. The food was good, we just felt like the service wasn't up to the normally great service we usually receive. We will be back though! It would be nice if you guys served lunch, just a thought.
Our dinner was for a Birthday celebration. Number in our party was four adults. We were able to have a booth which with its high and upholstered walls, we felt very private. Menu items were cooked to order specifications. We appreciated the lobster tail served cut out of shell with a pleasing presentation. Service was prompt, if not abrupt at first. The server, Lin may have been so very busy early on, but became more personable toward dessert. On his own initiative, the server brought extra plates and spoons for sharing the dessert. We definitely plan to return to Black Angus.
Our food was hot, our server was friendly and took her time to get our order and serve it. We didn't feel rushed at all. My only complaint is the place was very crowded, so the noise level was pretty high. It was hard to hear each other speak. The temp was a bit too warm for my taste. We drank a lot of ice water to cool down.
